There is one nation who will be delighted by that bore-draw. And that's Colombia. It means Jose Pekerman's side have already qualified for the last-16 ahead of their final group game against Japan.

Adam:, external Best bit about this game has been the pundits tearing it apart saying how much of a bore it was! Everyone agreeing for once!

"Shinji Kagawa has that guile, he is a fantastic player and I was wiling him on to do well, as soon as he came on there was a bit more sharpness, but it wasn't enough for Japan."

"It is a decent result for Greece in the circumstances, as soon as they went down to 10 they were always going to shut up shop, there were one or two half-chances but it was a very, very disappointing game."

Not the result that either side needed really - but it is not terminal to their World Cup hopes either. Greece know if they beat Ivory Coast in their final match then they will be in the last-16. Wonder what the odds are on a Greek march to the final? Their remarkable Euro 2004 triumph was based on clean sheets remember....

"The sending off really spoiled the game because we were hoping to see the Greeks commit and actually play some football, but once they went down to ten men they were just trying to protect what they had."

Nope, no way through the Greek wall for Japan - who had a whopping 76% of possession. Wow. The full-time whistle is greeted by a smattering of boos from the Natal stands. Not the 'sexy' football that the Brazilian fans are always after.

Japan stick defender Maya Yoshida up front in the Paul Warhurst role, but he is let down by a terrible long ball from team-mate Yuto Nagatomo. Easy pickings for Greece keeper Orestis Karnezis to gather.

End-to-end stuff as both keepers earn their corn in the dying moments. Don't know what Greece defender Jose Choelevas is doing up field, but he is denied by Japan stopper Eiji Kawashima. Then, after Vasileios Torosidis concedes a dangerous-looking free-kick, Greece keeper Orestis Karnezis has to be on his toes to stop Yasuhito Endo's precise strike sneaking into the bottom corner.

Japan win a corner as we enter the final five minutes. Can they nick a winner? Almost. Yuto Nagatomo scrambles up the loose ball from the set-piece before losing his head with a wild shot. The left-back shanks his effort badly but almost sees it butted in by defensive colleague Maya Yoshida.

Marc, Wolverhampton: Part of me is glad that I never saw Shinji Kagawa play for Borussia Dortmund lest I become afflicted with 'Shinji syndrome'. Symptoms include failure to see any wrongdoing in Kagawa even though he's only had a handful of good games in two seasons.

Greece forward Georgios Samaras isn't always the most mobile of players, which means our cameraman following around the Celtic man on player cam could be in for an easy 15 minutes of work.

Then, just as I type that, our lensman is jolted into action. Samaras lurches forward as he tries to meet a whipped cross from the right but can't get enough of his forehead on the ball.

Japan continue to press as Yoshito Okubo blasts one from distance. Greece keeper Orestis Karnezis springs into action, diving low to his right to push out. No risk goalkeeping that.

A Japan penalty? Possibly. Greece centre-half Konstantinos Manolas manhandles Shinji Okazaki just inside his own penalty area but the referee is having none of it. He waves the Japan forward to his feet.

Joe, Stockport: Talk about Greek tragedy, I've never seen such mediocre acting. Thankfully the referee is watching the ball instead of the theatrics.

"Yoshito Okubo has got to hit the target from there, that is the nearest we have come to a goal, he's got to put it in and skies it.

"Sokratis Papastathopoulos can't clear his lines and Uchida follows in but he can't get his foot round it. It's starting to come now for the Japanese, they have just got to be patient."
