Chris Bloomfield:, external France the little dark horses! Swiss playing like they are running in melted Toblerone.

Sho:, external Senderos and Djourou showing why Arsenal gave up one them. Liabilities.

Howard Pothecary:, external So much for Belgium being dark horses despite everyone talking them up. In the two games so far France look as good as anyone!

This is painful to watch - I'm squirming in my seat for the Swiss, like a teenager watching an uncomfortable television scene with their parents. Keeper Diego Benaglio finally gets his act together, blocking Mathieu Valbuena's close-range shot to stop them bagging a sixth.

"Ignore the defending, let's say that was a fantastic goal. In the last third France's passing is sharp, intricate and to feet. If you a connoisseur of World Cup goals, it is similar to the Carlos Alberto goal for Brazil in 1970."

Ah. That goal difference is taking a pounding. It is simply far too easy for the French. Another slick move ends in Karim Benzema teeing up Moussa Sissoko to fire into the bottom corner. What is Swiss keeper Diego Benaglio doing? He lazily goes for the ball with feet - like the efforts of a kid who doesn't want to go into goal at training.

Are Switzerland already saving their energy for the now crucial final match against Honduras? Win that one and they could still progress, providing their goal difference doesn't get even worse.

That sort of defending is what you've got to look forward to next season Aston Villa fans...

"If you're French that's a brilliant goal, but for the Swiss that was embarrassing defending. There was great vision from Pogba, but I have no idea what Senderos was doing there. Their midfield has been torn to shreds as well but anyone complaining about England's central defence don't worry, because Switzerland's is worse."

Easy street for France! Paul Pogba's delicious pass slices through the Swiss defence to find Karim Benzema - who makes no mistake. The Real Madrid man pokes through the legs of Swiss keeper Diego Benaglio for France's fourth. It was game over at 3-0. Now the console has been turned off and put back in the box.

Germany and Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil:, external Congrats to Olivier Giroud for this great goal and assist! Wonderful Arsenal power!

Olivier Giroud's number is up. But the France striker can be very pleased with his evening's work. He gets a pat on the back from Didier Deschamps, which is always a bonus.

"Without really pushing it all the French are breaking at pace, and it must be heartbreaking for the Swiss because they have had 75% of the play in this half."

France are throwing their weight firmly behind this current counter-attack fad. Possession? Pah. Again Les Bleus burst forward at break-neck speed when the Swiss make a mistake, Mathieu Valbuena picking out Karim Benzema whose shot is deflected over by the backside of Johan Djourou.

Switzerland are patiently passing the ball around in front of the French, but they can't find any chinks in their armour. The Swiss must feel like they are banging their heads against a brick wall. A bit like I do when I've had a barney with the missus...

"The question for the remains of this match is, how much do the French go for it? They must be thinking now that this is going to be a long tournament, but they could get five or six here."

One of the Swiss coaching staff sits with his glum face buried into his hands. And his mood is not helped by a speculative effort from Xherdan Shaqiri. The Bayern Munich man plays second fiddle to Franck Ribery - missing for the French through injury remember - and Arjen Robben. And that poor effort shows why.

Credit to the Swiss though - they're not calling time on this match just yet. Striker Haris Seferovic swivels on a six pence about 20 yards from goals, dragging his shot hopelessly wide. The Real Sociedad man outshone the likes of Neymar and Mario Gotze at the 2009 Under-17 World Cup - it's not happening at the real thing.

"Giroud is bullying the life out of Senderos at the moment, he just cannot get near him."

The early signs are that France are not in the mood to show any mercy on their poor old neighbours. Olivier Giroud bullies his way though again to win a corner, before the Swiss compose themselves to snuff out the danger.

Unsurprisingly, the Swiss make a half-time change as Napoli midfielder Blerim Dzemaili trots on. Valon Behrami - who was responsible for giving away possession in the build-up to the second goal - is hooked.

Party time among the French contingent during the break in Salvador. Enthusiastic dancing, Tricolours waving in the air, smiling faces - happy days. And their players look jovial as they remerge from the tunnel. Back under way.
