You've been sending in your questions to legendary BBC commentator John Motson, using #bbcworldcupmotty

Toby Hancock asked: "Should Wayne Rooney play against Uruguay, and if so, in what position?

Motty: "I would move him into the middle or just behind and move Sterling to the left wing."

Haario Naharis asked: "Which English player do you think showed the most promise against Italy?"

Motty: "I thought Sterling, Sturridge and Welbeck all justified selection. The two centre-backs also did well."

Dillon Nolan asked: "Do you think England still have a chance of qualifying?"

Motty: "Yes. I remember them losing the first game in Mexico and then going on to win the group."

Internet search engine Google has released details of the questions it was asked during England's defeat by Italy last night. They make surprising reading.

The most commonly searched question in the United Kingdom was "Who does Raheem Sterling play for?" Understandable perhaps as the occasional football fan acquaints themselves with England's top performer.

In Italy it was: "What does Gabriel Paletta's hair look like?" Which is a question well worth asking...

France have asked Fifa to investigate their suspicions that a drone was used to spy on the team's preparations for the World Cup opener against Honduras. The incident is said to have occurred on Tuesday at the French training base north of Sao Paulo.

"Apparently drones are used more and more," said coach Didier Deschamps. "It's not up to me - Fifa handles this and has been carrying out an inquiry; we don't want any intrusion into our privacy. It's very hard to fight this these days."

Deschamps offered no thoughts on who might be behind the aerial snooping.

You've been sending in your questions to legendary BBC commentator John Motson, using #bbcworldcupmotty

Benjamin Knight asked: "Where are the goals going to come from Motty?"

Motty: "Looking at Daniel Sturridge again. Most important is for Wayne Rooney to start scoring goals."

Dr Andy Hershon asked: "Mistake leaving Ashley Cole and John Terry at home? Also obvious question - is Rooney still worth his place?"

Motty: "I think Rooney is worth his place in the middle but looks out of place on the left wing."

    1) Joe Bamforth asked: "Is there really a difference between England losing or drawing? A loss to Uruguay and they'll still have a chance to qualify."

Motty: "Still in with a shout. I don't think defeat means we will be eliminated."

    2) David Kirby asked: "Not one Italian player had cramp, but a few England players did. Why?"

Motty: "I'm still figuring that out. Sure medical staff will be looking for the reason."

    3) Emmett: "England seem to be lacking a leader in defence! Should John Terry still be involved?"

Motty: "I don't think there was a real chance of John coming back. Strong leaders needed all across the field."
