Reading manager Nigel Adkins: "The team's in a very good mood. We've won four games recently, including our first League Cup game. A deflected goal at Sheffield Wednesday cost us the game last week. We are playing good football. We love being here at the Madejski Stadium. It'll be a tough game."

Here come the two teams then. Can Wolves, with the best defensive record in England, draw level on points with leaders Norwich at the top of the Championship?

This is the 37th meeting between the teams in all competitions. Former Millwall manager Kenny Jackett has enjoyed a good start with the team he took over last season, with five wins and only one defeat from eight games so far. Victory today would see them go level on points with leaders Norwich.

Reading's three-match winning streak in the Championship came to an end last week when they were beaten by Sheffield Wednesday. They are 12th, but a win would move them to the fringes of the play-off places.

Reading: Federici, Gunter, Obita, Hector, Pearce, Akpan, Norwood, Taylor, Blackman, Cox, Murray. Subs: Andersen, Long, Cooper, Kuhl, Guthrie, Mackie, Porgrebnyak.

Good stuff from the Match of the Day 2 Extra team. Now it's time to switch focus. Let's give the Championship our full attention.

  7. Arsenal lacking bite up frontpublished at 12:59 British Summer Time 28 September 2014

    MOTD2 Extra

England and Chelsea Ladies forward Eni Aluko: "Arsenal just do not have that bite in front of goal. Danny Welbeck has got to get a few goals to give him that confidence. You look at Graziano Pelle at Southampton - he is a striker in form who knows he is going to score. Arsenal have to get that with Welbeck."

  8. Title down to Chelsea or City?published at 12:59 British Summer Time 28 September 2014

    Former Everton winger Kevin Kilbane
    MOTD2 Extra

"I've seen both Liverpool and Arsenal this season and they're not the same standard as Chelsea or Manchester City. Manchester United will be pushing for a top four finish but this season is all about Chelsea and Manchester City."

  9. Jagielka's sucker-punchpublished at 12:59 British Summer Time 28 September 2014

BBC Match of the Day commentator John Motson
    MOTD2 Extra

"That equaliser by Everton might be a significant goal in Liverpool's season. They lost Luis Suarez and striker Daniel Sturridge is injured. When you lose a goal like that as big as that (it could prove important). Captain Steven Gerrard was saying that this is their year to win the league - I'm not convinced with that.

"Those two draws in two derby games on Saturday - not one of those four teams will win the league. Manchester City and Chelsea will move away and the title will be between those two."

  10. Roy of the Rovers stuffpublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 28 September 2014

And what about Everton skipper Phil Jagielka? Even in his dreams last night, he won't have scored a better goal in the last-minute of the Merseyside derby. He won't have to buy a pint on the blue half of the city for a long while after that 30-yard blockbuster.

"I don't think I've seen a better strike in live football," his Everton manager Roberto Martinez said. "It had to be incredible to go in the top corner, and it was."

  11. 'Koeman moving Saints forward'published at 12:53 British Summer Time 28 September 2014

    MOTD2 Extra

England and Chelsea Ladies forward Eni Aluko: "With so many players leaving there was a risk the Southampton changing room would be depleted, some players wanted to leave but had to stay.

"But Ronald Koeman has moved them forward with a new philosophy and I am sure they will be growing in confidence. Graziano Pelle's form has helped. You have to have goalscorers in the team."

  12. Saturday's actionpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 28 September 2014

Southampton forward Graziano Pelle:, external Always dreamed to score a goal like today. Great result for my club.

Swansea defender Angel Rangel:, external Not our best day but still fought for a point away from home and with 10 men in the end. Harsh sending off for me!

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea:, external Very proud of having played 100 Premier League matches with a club such as Man Utd. Thanks for your support!

  13. Saints marching onpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 28 September 2014

    Les Dennis

"Southampton are in crisis." "They have no players." "They've replaced one of the best managers in their recent history with a Les Dennis lookalike."

Those worries of the summer are long gone now, aren't they? Flying high in second in the table, the Saints are enjoying their best start to a top-flight season in 30 years. Even their manager, Ronald Koeman, admits he is surprised by the great start.

"We had a good pre-season, we had some difficult moments in the club, a lot of people, even the press was a little bit afraid, with questions about relegation," the new boss said.

"But we know what our qualities are, and little by little we have shown them. I'm satisfied with how we're playing. Now we can watch the table tonight and take a picture."

  14. City desperate for Lampard?published at 12:47 British Summer Time 28 September 2014

    Former Everton winger Kevin Kilbane
    MOTD2 Extra

"Manchester City will be desperate to keep Frank Lampard because of his goals. He's going so well and you know for a fact he will get close to double figures."

  15. Lamps shining brightpublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 28 September 2014

Manchester City, I'm sure you already know, beat Hull 4-2 at the KC Stadium yesterday. Frank Lampard was once again on the scoresheet, but will the Blues be able to persuade the midfielder to delay his departure for New York?

Will he be happy to trade yellow taxis for black cabs, the Empire State Building for Beetham Tower and Times Square for Piccadilly Gardens?

  16. Mourinho's best ever Chelsea?published at 12:42 British Summer Time 28 September 2014

BBC Match of the Day commentator John Motson
    MOTD2 Extra

"The Chelsea team Jose Mourinho has now is better and more focused than the Chelsea team of last season. They also appear to have more strength in depth; if Diego Costa is unable to play then there is Loic Remy, another world-class finisher.

"Mourinho said about Costa that he is scoring the goals they were not getting last season, despite the creative players like Oscar and Eden Hazard."

  17. Chelsea favourites for title?published at 12:40 British Summer Time 28 September 2014

Chelsea are already three points clear at the top of the Premier League, with third-placed Manchester City a further two behind Southampton in second.

Is the title already Chelsea's to lose? Speaking on Match of the Day, ex-Blues manager Ruud Gullit is impressed with Jose Mourinho's men.

"The difference with Chelsea this season is the work they do in getting the ball back. The first goal (against Aston Villa) was a great goal and I love the second goal - they still find spaces. And when the opposition is going forward, they also have the possibility of going for a counter-attack. This is the Chelsea I love to see. It's a Chelsea that's hard to beat."

  18. Text us on 81111published at 12:39 British Summer Time 28 September 2014

Ben in Manchester: Last week we needed calm and composure from our captain and he was ranting and raving. Again he lost his calm yesterday. How he is captain and a certainty for the team is a mystery. We play better without him.

  19. More to come from Costa?published at 12:36 British Summer Time 28 September 2014

    Former Everton winger Kevin Kilbane
    MOTD2 Extra

"If Diego Costa is not fully fit then what form is he going to be in when he is? He is obviously pushing to play and you have to give him credit for that."
