Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, on the arrival of Angel Di Maria: "I think he shall contribute very much in our way of playing. He is a creative player. I can change the system with Di Maria because he can play on the wing and midfield. He can contribute and that is very important.
"But we don't have to expect that from tomorrow the world has been changed, he has to adapt to the culture of England, the culture of the Premier League and the philosophy of Manchester United.
There was one bright spot about tonight for Manchester United fans, and that was the confirmation of the arrival of Angel Di Maria.

"Manchester United don't need to rest players and I was surprised at the team Louis van Gaal picked. They don't understand the system. When I played against Manchester United, there was a nasty streak to them, they would push each other.
"The confidence has eroded and they can begin to see the chinks in their armour. They've lost big personalities like Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic who know how to ride out the situation, know what to do. The players he's bringing in are to play a 3-5-2 formation. When asked if he regretted making so many changes to the team, Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal said: "No, you have to analyse the problem and I've done that.
