Tottenham's Andros Townsend, who scored a penalty against Limassol, speaking to ITV4: "It was a good win and hopefully we can make our mark and go far this year. This was my first 90 minutes in a few months, hopefully it will not be long before I am back where I was last year."

Tottenham striker and goalscorer Harry Kane, speaking to ITV4: "It was good to get on the scoresheet as a striker but we played well as a team, we did the job we wanted to do and it was comfortable in the end.

"It was good to score two goals in two games now against Limassol, so hopefully I can keep that form going."

A big signing for Leicester City, with the Premier League club just now confirming the arrival of former Real Madrid and Inter Milan midfielder Esteban Cambiasso.

He may be 34, but that is quite a capture for Leicester.

James Gallagher:, external Hull are deservedly out and the management probably don't care - this is a problem with so mucl PL money - shame for the fans

Tom Garry:, external Baffled that @HullCity rested so many first-choice players tonight. Opportunity for a #EuropeanTour missed. Wrong priorities?

That's four wins out of four for Tottenham this season and once again they are safely through to the Europa League group stage. It has been a pretty straightforward qualifying campaign for Spurs, but it will get tougher from here onwards.

Joolz in Exmouth: Any reason why the likes of Kane and Dier aren't in the England squad? Especially when England don't have either of their first choice right backs and Lambert isn't a regular with Liverpool..?

And following earlier comments from Billy in Glasgow that Hull should have put out their strongest possible team...

John from Newcastle: I'm with Billy! Got no sympathy if Hull go out! Play your strongest team! I've seen it with my beloved Newcastle & it baffles me too.

Mark in Bath: Hull City weren't trying to get into Europe, they were trying to win the FA Cup. What would you choose - win the Cup with no Europe or finish runners-up and qualify for Europe?

Mauricio Pochettino is slouched back in his chair in the Tottenham dugout as two minutes of injury time are shown on the board. It has been a good night for the Spurs boss, with the home side rarely breaking into a sweat against Limassol.

That's it! All over at the KC Stadium and all over for Hull City's European ambitions. They needed one more goal to go through but they could not find it and it is Lokeren who go through to the Europa League group stage on away goals.

Half a chance for Hull City as Jake Livermore sees a scuffed effort saved, that shot summing up the home's side lack of bite in the final third in this half. Two minutes of the five added on remain.

Jon in London: Re Hull making six changes- most of those players coming in were first choice last year, so it's still a strong team, hardly second stringers.

Nick, spoken like a true football fan: Billy because the premiership is priorty, more so for a team like Hull.

  13. INJURY TIMEpublished at 21:30 British Summer Time 28 August 2014

A huge cheer goes up at the KC Stadium as five minutes of added time is announced. Is it enough though?

Limassol goalkeeper Pulpo Romero gets behind a good effort from Sandro as Tottenham go looking for a fourth. It's the Brazilian's last contribution of the game as Lewis Holtby finally gets on the pitch with just over 10 minutes left.

Lokeren are penalised for taking too long with a free-kick as they try to wind down the clock. Five minutes left at the KC Stadium as Tom Huddlestone sees a deflected effort easily saved. A decisive third is looking increasingly unlikely for Hull.

Billy in Glasgow: English teams in Europe baffle me. Why did hull make so many changes? Playing in Europe is fantastic for the fans. Why spend a whole season fighting to get there then send out a second string team? Someone explain.

Nick: As a Fulham fan hoping that Hull can reproduce some of the same Europa League magic that we had back in '10. C'mon City!!!

Lewis Holtby is waiting to come on for Tottenham. In fact, he has been waiting for the last five minutes or so with the ball being passed around at a pedestrian pace in the middle of the pitch. It doesn't look in any danger of going out of play any time soon.

  18. Ten minutes to find a winnerpublished at 21:19 British Summer Time 28 August 2014

Time is running out for Hull City as the game at the KC Stadium enters the final 10 minutes. They are pushing forward now in search of that winner but Lokeren, to their credit, are not packing out the defence. They want another goal as well.

Ten-man Hull have no choice but to go for it as they need another goal to go through.

Not surprisingly, manager Steve Bruce sends on Tom Ince in place of defender James Chester with 15 minutes to go.

Superb stuff from Andros Townsend as he puts the penalty away into the corner with the goalkeeper having committed himself the wrong way. Tottenham are into the Europa League group stage.
