Tottenham introduced their new signing, defender Federico Fazio, to the crowd at White Hart Lane before kick-off and Hull have taken the opportunity to do likewise at half-time. Michael Dawson, who spent almost a decade at Spurs before his move north earlier this week, is brought out to a warm reception at the KC Stadium.

Former Hull City defender Peter Swan, speaking to BBC Humberside: "Steve Bruce would have taken this at half-time. It's now whether Hull can get another one. City have looked solid at the back but haven't really threatened again at the other end. It's evenly balanced and I think whoever gets the next goal goes through."

  3. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 28 August 2014

Routine stuff from Tottenham, who lead at the break courtesy of Harry Kane's strike just before half-time. Spurs boast a 100% record so far this season, and they are looking good for keeping that going against Limassol.

Martyn Seabourne:, external Tottenham couldn't hit a barn door tonight! - Was just about to tweet this then they went and scored. Typical.

Ben Johnson:, external I would like to retract my previous tweet...

Harry Whittingham:, external Harry Kane has deserved that to be honest. Obviously got talent and works hard on the pitch.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 28 August 2014

Andros Townsend goes in the book for a foul on Edmar as Limassol attack in the closing stages of this half. A mistake by Mousa Dembele allows Valentinos Sielis to race into the box but the ball is stabbed away just in time as the defender tries to find space to shoot.

Hull City and Lokeren might be making their way down the tunnel for half-time but the action continues for a while longer at White Hart Lane. That earlier delay while Limassol keeper Karim Fegrouch was treated and then taken off means there are seven minutes of added time.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:31 British Summer Time 28 August 2014

It is half-time at the KC Stadium, where Robbie Brady's first goal of the season has tied things up on aggregate.

We will have extra-time if it stays this way for another 45 minutes.

He has had chances but finally Harry Kane finds the back of the net. A mistake by the Limassol defence allows Paulinho to take possession and he feeds the ball into the path of Harry Kane, who sweeps home with a low shot. Deserved.

Lars Wolter:, external Unbelievable that Tottenham haven't received a booking yet.

Ben Johnson:, external ‏Harry Kane has a bit of Danny Welbeck about him. Tenacious, good on the ball, potential ability... but no end product.

Lokeren have had their chances in this half but it is Hull who almost get a second five minutes before the break. Robbie Brady's cross is headed back by Yannick Sagbo for David Meyler to let fly with a volley which Davino Verhulst turns round for a corner.

Lokeren threaten again as Danish defender Alexander Scholz gets forward but shoots wide. The Tigers aren't really building on the early lead given them by Robbie Brady as they look to book their place in tomorrow's draw for the group stages.

  12. CLOSE!published at 20:23 British Summer Time 28 August 2014

Great chance for Tottenham to take the lead following a move started and finished by Harry Kane. The big forward lifts a pass into the area for Aaron Lennon, who cleverly backheels the ball back into the path of Kane. He has a clear sight of goal but scoops the ball over the bar.

Nice footwork from Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele as he weaves his way towards the edge of the Limassol area. His attempted pass bounces back towards him off a defender and he takes full advantage, smashing a low shot that goes just wide of the upright. All Spurs at the moment.

Lokeren are cup holders in Belgium, Hull went oh so close in England. Lokeren boast far greater European experience. While Hull are having their first taste of Europe, the Belgians have had a number of campaigns with their best effort a run to the quarter-finals of the Uefa Cup in 1980-81.

They trail on the night but are certainly matching Hull in terms of possession and have given Hull one or two anxious moments at the back.

Edward Herbert:, external Harry Kane misses the penalty but he shouldn't feel too bad. At least he tried unlike in some of Adebayors penalties!

jack:, external ‏Spurs playing their 2nd team. They should really be playing christian eriksen. He is their main spark in the whole team.

Adrian Sardinero lets fly with Limassol's first effort on target but it is no danger for Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris. At the other end Pulpo Romero jumps to claim Paulinho's corner, sending Younes Kaboul tumbling to the ground as the two collide. Kaboul is up and fires off a few angry words before players from both teams race in to defuse the situation.

Lyon, oh Lyon. They won seven French titles in a row between 2002 and 2008 and reached the last four of the Champions League in 2010. But they won't be going any further in the Europa League this season - they have won 1-0 at Romanian side Astra Giurgiu but go out on away goals after their humiliating 2-1 home defeat last week.

The away fans are in good voice at the KC Stadium and they have good reason to be at the moment as Lokeren have responded well to Hull's early goal. A Hans Vanaken shot almost sneaks in but skipper Curtis Davies makes a telling block to stop it going in.

A goal for Tottenham would surely kill this tie and they are going for it at the moment. A lovely one-two between Sandro and Ben Davies sees the latter almost sneak through on goal, but he is beaten to the ball by Pulpo Romero.

Tottenham, and more specifically Harry Kane, have not let that missed penalty affect them as the forward strides towards goal and, with defenders backing off, lashes an effort from outside the area that stings the gloves of Pulpo Romero.
