The action - and our live coverage - moves on to the Scottish League Cup, with five ties on Tuesday and three more on Wednesday.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila will demand an improvement as they host Scottish Championship leaders Hearts on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the other three teams featured today are in derby action.

Motherwell travel to New Douglas Park to face Hamilton Academical.

Meanwhile, the two Dundee sides will renew their rivalry at Tannadice.

Despite their draw at Celtic Park, Motherwell stay 10th, behind Partick Thistle, who have a game in hand, on goal difference.

    Defeated Dundee remain in sixth.

Dundee United are now top of the table, equal on points and goal difference with Inverness Caledonian Thistle but ahead courtesy of finding the net more times.

Celtic's draw at home to Motherwell means they effectively lost pace with the leaders over the weekend and are now five points adrift but with a game in hand.

Earlier today, what's seems like a lifetime ago, the last unbeaten record in the Scottish Premiership ended when Dundee, who had not lost in 10 outings including the end of last season, were thumped 4-1 at home to city rivals Dundee United.

It not only meant that United won for the fourth consecutive time at Dens Park and extended their unbeaten run in Tayside derbies to seven games but took Jackie McNamara's side to the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

    Ronny Deila
Celtic manager on BBC Radio Scotland

"I think we played a very bad first half. We didn't get tempo in the play and we didn't create any chances and conceded a stupid goal as well.

"The second half was much better. We got the tempo more up and created the chances and got the goal.

"In the end, the result is disappointing, but I'm satisfied with the second half.

"We can't rely on Scott Brown and Kris Commons all the time. We need more people to step up and be leaders out there."

Most people seem to have missed the Motherwell penalty claim. Manager Stuart McCall thought that Iain Vigurs had been four yards away from Jason Denayer when he fired against the Celtic defender's hand.

    Stuart McCall
Motherwell manager of BBC Radio Scotland

"Delighted to get a goal first and foremost as we've not scored since I've been coming here.

"A great goal and we could have had another one straight after it and if it was not for a great save by Denayer in the box we could have had a penalty kick, there's no doubt about that.

"Second half, they come on strong, they bring Commons and Brown and Brown's desire gets him into the box.

"I've seen them given, I've seen them not given. I think it was a case of one penalty that should have been given and one that was given.

"But I don't want to whinge about it. I thoguht the lads' effort and desire and determination today was fantastic and it is so good to get a point."

    Craig Paterson
    BBC Radio Scotland pundit

"Scott Brown was clipped outside the box and the players could not believe a penalty was given.

"But Motherwell stuck with it, rode their luck a bit, but for their effort deserved their point, although Stuart McCall might think that they should have taken that chance at 1-0 and left with a win.

"The worrying thing for the Celtic manager is that he's tried squad rotation and his players have shown they are not up to it."

Following wins for Inverness Caledonian Thistle yesterday and Dundee United today, that leaves Ronny Deila's side five points off the top of the table, although they do have a game in hand.

"Celtic have broken Motherwell's spirit. While before, Stuart McCall's men always looked a threat despite Celtic dominating possession, now they are clinging on here, with home captain Scott Brown showing the leadership that was badly missing in the first half."
