Not the start the lively home crowd had in mind.

When it's the biggest day in your club's history, you've got to go prepared, and that's exactly what Norton's fans are doing. A roaring burger and hot dog trade going on there at the eighth-tier club.

The first chance of the afternoon on the south coast goes to Portsmouth, but Jed Wallace's tame effort fails to trouble Phil Smith in the visiting goal. Bright start here.

Wayne Jacobs, former Bradford and Halifax defender:

"A proper scare, and everyone connect to Halifax can be very proud for what they have put on. They gave it a right go, it was a typical FA Cup tie, a local derby with no quarter asked and no quarter given. Clarke hurt Halifax around the centre of the pitch, he produced two good chances by slipping balls in by the sides of centre-halves and Bradford took them."

  14. FULL-TIMEpublished at 13:57 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2014

There goes the full-time whistle, but in the final seconds the home side come so, so close to rescuing a draw. First Lois Maynard's goal-bound shot is deflected away, and from the resulting corner Bradford somehow get the ball away. Brilliant effort from the non-leaguers, but League One Bradford are in the hat for Monday's draw. Job done.

The Shaymen launch a long ball into the penalty area but Stephen Darby very calmly heads it back to his goalkeeper. Nicely done. We're deep into stoppage time.

As the fourth official's board goes up to show four minutes of time to be added on, Bantams left-back James Meredith works his way into the Halifax area but his shot goes wide.

Fortress Norton? Gateshead's players take a look around before their game against their eighth-tier opponents, which kicks off in 10 minutes.

Great viewpoint if you live in one of those houses on the far side. Potentially bad news for your windows though.
