Celtic comfortably through to the quarter-finals. Hearts had a great chance to level from the penalty spot after the hosts had gone ahead and Ronny Deila's side capitalised on Osman Sow's miss by netting a spot-kick of their own before Adam Eckersley's own goal.
There were calls for a penalty from the Motherwell players after that Lionel Ainsworth shot was blocked but the Lanarkshire derby remains the only of tonight's Scottish League Cup matches not to feature a spot-kick.
It's all Dundee United now. A great volley by Stuart Armstrong is tipped onto the post by Kyle Letheren and James McPake has to hack the rebound clear.
Lionel Ainsworth gets in an effort but Hamilton are able to get the ball clear and Eamonn Brophy pokes the ball wide at the other end.
Mario Bilate broke the deadlock from the penalty spot in Sunday's Dundee derby and he comes on in place of United team-mate John Rankin.
Nadir Ciftci is a man on a mission and has another effort blocked by Gary Irvine. A minute later Blair Spittal gets in behind the defence but his shot is weak. United on top at the moment.
A few stoppages at the start of the second half in Lanarkshire interrupt the flow of the game. Neither side is really able to get a grip of the match.
Nadir Ciftci is 22 yards out and thunders a shot against the Dundee crossbar.
Another disallowed goal at Celtic Park. Stefan Scepovic turns Emilio Izaguirre's cross towards goal and Aleksandar Tonev flicks the ball into the Hearts net only to be flagged offside.
Gary Irvine has had a decent effort for Dundee at the start of the second half. They may be a man down but the visitors are still very much in this game.

"Second half kicks off at New Douglas Park. No changes to either side, in front of 3,631 fans."
The matches at New Douglas Park and Tannadice are resuming for the second half.
Anthony Stokes plays a one-two with Celtic substitute Stefan Scepovic and fires into the net but an offside flag had been raised against the latter.
Emilio Izaguirre's teasing cross finds no takers as Celtic continue to pile forward in Glasgow.
There will be extra-time and maybe even penalties if there is no winner after 90 minutes in tonight's matches. Last night, Partick Thistle beat St Mirren 1-0 after extra-time.
