Celtic, wearing a bottle green tartan carpet strip, get the game started, with St Mirren Park bathed in glorious sunshine.
BBC Scotland's senior football reporter Alasdair Lamont at St Mirren Park
"St Mirren manager Tommy Craig has had a dig at the obscenities used by a "minority of supporters" in last weekend's win over Partick Thistle. He says he doesn't care about criticism but doesn't want families at St Mirren to be subjected to such abusive language. Does he have a point about bad language at football matches?"
St Mirren striker Steven Thompson on BBC Radio Scotland
"We know how difficult it will be but the boys are positive in the changing room, I was in there before the match. If you get at them and you're brave then you can exploit this Celtic team but of course you have to be impeccable defensively because they have such quality up front."
Big Stevie is recovering from groin surgery and should be back playing around Christmas...
St Mirren manager Tommy Craig on BBC Radio Scotland
"The message is to start on the front foot. If we sit back we are asking for trouble. We need to claw our way back into the pack, so we'll be going for the win."
St Mirren are yet to score at home in the league this season...
Celtic were held at home by Motherwell in a rather lacklustre draw last weekend, dropping points for the third time in six league matches. St Mirren fared better, with a stoppage-time penalty completing a 2-1 comeback win at Partick Thistle.
St Mirren would lose out after extra-time at the same venue a few days later in the League Cup, while Celtic knocked three past Championship leaders Hearts to reach the last eight in the same competition.
St Mirren have not beaten Celtic in Paisley since the famous 4-0 trouncing in 2010 that was to cost Tony Mowbray his job as the visitors' manager. The Buddies have of course beaten the champions since then, winning 3-2 in the 2013 League Cup semi-final on their way to winning the trophy.
St Mirren Official on Twitter: "First starts of the season for Sean Kelly today and first start for Thomas Reilly since the opening day of last season."
I'm sure many of you will be dipping in and out of this as you keep an eye on the incredible goings on at Gleneagles. Scotland's Ryder Cup party is in full swing so let's have a bit of fun with a GOLF XI. Players with a link to Scotland only please.
I'll start the ball rolling with two steady if unspectacular selections; Andrew Driver and Kenny Irons. I know you lot can do much better...

It's not been a great start to the season for the Buddies, with just one win in the league and tumbling out of the League Cup this week. And the bad news for the home side is that Celtic looked like they might just be starting to click when they swept Hearts aside on Wednesday.
Ronny Deila has been chopping and changing personnel since he arrived in Glasgow this summer but is getting closer to a settled core group now that hugely influential skipper Scott Brown is back from injury.
The last time Celtic were in Paisley Kris Commons scored twice in a 4-0 success. He is absent today through injury.
SPLstats on Twitter: "Mubarak Wakaso will become the 28th different player to start a Premiership game for Celtic this season. Nobody has started all 7 games."
St Mirren make four changes with Jason Naismith, Thomas Reilly, Sean Kelly and John McGinn coming in, while Mubarak Wakaso and Eoghan O'Connell replace Kris Commons and Jason Denayer for Celtic.
With the Ryder Cup taking centre stage this weekend, there is no room on the BBC Radio Scotland airwaves for Open All Mics but we will be offering full commentary from St Mirren Park and Pittodrie and there will be updates and reaction from all of the other matches.
Good afternoon and welcome to our Scottish Premiership coverage. Champions Celtic are first up with a trip to struggling St Mirren and there are five more matches to follow at three o'clock, including leaders Dundee United at home to St Johnstone and Aberdeen v Inverness CT.
