Sam Hudson:, external Stonewall penalty on Steven Fletcher, poor decision.

Mark Daws:, external Have to say that Crystal Palace fans were the noisiest bunch I heard last year visiting Upton Park!

Donald Earl:, external Re: are Arsenal fans there? (see 15:32) Yes, probably still discussing how expensive the afternoon has already been!

"It's late and it's straight from Cesar Azpilicueta, that's the problem. There's no massive damage done but the problem is the way he made the tackle. He went in studs up, leading with his foot, and it was a straight tackle onto Jedinak. And the ball had gone too, so it was late."

Arsenal are starting to shade things as they enjoy the bulk of possession. Now they win a free-kick on the edge of the area with Santi Cazorla (who scored that belter against the Tigers in the FA Cup final remember) standing menacingly over the ball. No repeat this time. The Spaniard's effort clips the Hull wall and flies out for a corner.

Drama at Selhurst Park where Cesar Azpilicueta is shown a red card. The full-back takes a poor touch before diving two-footed into a bad challenge on Mile Jedinak. It was right in front of the referee, who immediately reaches for the card.

It's far too easy for Southampton who sweep forward and ease into a three-goal lead. Dusan Tadic has the ball out on the left and he looks up before dinking a ball to the back stick where Jack Cork is on hand to bundle the ball over the line. That manager of the month curse is not afflicting Saints boss Ronald Koeman.

  7. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 18 October 2014

Sunderland are livid. Well, Lee Cattermole is. Oh, and so is Gus Poyet.

The midfielder slides the ball through for Steven Fletcher who pokes his effort wide just a split-second before being cleaned out by Fraser Forster. It wasn't a penalty, but Sunderland are still complaining about it.

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Goodison Park

"Aston Villa just starting to work their way back in here. Manager Paul Lambert has edged his way into the technical area to offer encouragement - no sign of his assistant Roy Keane as yet. He's had a busy week or two."

  9. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 18 October 2014

It may be 0-0 in the 'goals' column but it is 1-1 in terms of hitting the woodwork. West Ham's Stewart Downing, again looking revitalised in that free role behind the front two, is the unlucky man. He cuts in from the right, bends one around Burnley keeper Tom Heaton, only to see the ball clip the outside of the far post. unlucky.

Michal Koziol:, external Are Arsenal fans there? You can only hear the Hull supporters, and Gunners fans look so static and quiet. Not what you expect.

Hazem Radi:, external Southampton's Graziano Pelle is becoming more like the Brazilian Pele!

  12. Postpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 18 October 2014

Southampton look dangerous with every attack - Graziano Pelle is winning everything in the air and there's a real sense of desperation about the Sunderland performance.

  13. Postpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 18 October 2014

Chelsea continue to dominate at Selhurst Park, but the hosts look dangerous on the break - Yannick Bolasie and Fraizer Campbell causing all sorts of problems.

  14. Postpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 18 October 2014

I know what you're thinking - what sort of response have Arsenal showed? Well I can tell you. Pretty decent, lots of endeavour, but they have not stretched Hull keeper Steve Harper. Danny Welbeck clips through to England team-mate Jack Wilshere who is crowded out as Hull hoof clear.

It has not taken long for Neil Lennon long to make his mark south of the border. The former Celtic boss has seen his new Bolton strugglers take a 20th minute lead at Birmingham thanks to Matt Mills. High-flying Norwich are trailing 1-0 at Fulham while Watford, despite their high turnover of managers, currently sit top of the Championship table thanks to Odion Jude Ighalo's goal at Sheffield Wednesday.

It has all simmered down at Turf Moor since George Boyd spanked the West Ham crossbar earlier. That has allowed ex-Manchester United boss David Moyes to share a joke with former Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell at Turf Moor.

There's a caption competition if I ever saw one...

Alan Hutton is a new man this season. The Aston Villa full-back cuts inside past Leon Osman and curls a shot just wide.

Amaechi Osegbo:, external Who needs Mesut Ozil when you have Alexis Sanchez?

Stephen Gilmore:, external He's a great leader, and it hurts to say it, but Per Mertesacker is just too slow now, it's been a constant liability.
