    Final Score

"There was brilliant control and the dink over Wojciech Szczesny from Mo Diame is superb, but there was a foul in the build-up with a pull-back on Mathieu Flamini. The referee should have blown up, and that is why the Arsenal players are complaining."

Better late than never as the Newcastle and Leicester players are put through their paces in the delayed warm-up. I'm pleased to report that the St James' Park stands are filling up rather nicely as Queen's Another One Bites The Dust blasts out of the PA system. Quite ironic as this game nearly bit the dust...

Former Leicester striker Steve Claridge at Selhurst Park, BBC Radio 5 live

"What a magnificent game of football so far. So much action in either goal mouth, so end-to-end. I've seen many games this season when Chelsea have taken the lead, and you can tell the opposition don't think they can get back in the game. But that's not the case today with this Palace performance."

Three goals in 12 minutes by Grant Holt and Harry Bunn (2) has given Huddersfield a flying start against Championship strugglers Blackpool. Middlesbrough lead at Brighton thanks to Lee Tomlin while Charlton are losing to Callum Wilson's goal at Bournemouth.

    Former Everton winger Kevin Kilbane
    Final Score

"An unbelievable own-goal. Santiago Vergini can pass it back to Vito Mannone, it would be a difficult pass, but he decides to volley it, it looks like towards the corner. But he slams it past Mannone. It is an incredible volley, albeit it at the wrong end."

Shane Lees:, external Now that's an own goal that even the master, Jos Hooiveld, would have been proud of! (15:12)

Chris Parker:, external If Santiago Vergini doesn't win goal of the month there's no justice.

Southampton have crossed the ball more than any side in the league this season and Steven Davis slides a ball across the six-yard box for Graziano Pelle to tap home. The player of the month has the 100th club goal of his career.

Sunderland will regret a botched clearance in the build-up and they now have a huge task on their hands.

Everton take the lead, and it's richly deserved. Moments after Ross Barkley has a shot tipped over by Brad Guzan, a corner is cleared only for Leighton Baines to put the ball back into the mixer from the right and Phil Jagielka is on hand to head home from six yards out.

Mohamed Diame celebratesImage source, Getty Images

Can you believe it?! Mo Diame gets up, dusts himself down and then storms up the other end to bag a controversial leveller. Arsenal are furious. They claim Diame fouls Mathieu Flamini before he coolly lifts over Wojciech Szczesny. Big call from Roger East, who waves away the Gunners' protests.

  10. CLOSE!published at 15:17 British Summer Time 18 October 2014

Hull are temporarily down to 10 men as Mo Diame stays down after a cruncher from Jack Wilshere - and Arsenal almost take advantage. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is crowded out when well placed.

Fraizer Campbell is again Palace's danger man. The former Cardiff striker weaves his way into the box, a shuffle of the hips and he's away from Gary Cahill - but he drags the shot across goal. Maybe he could have picked out a team-mate.

Julian Croker:, external The Chelsea goalscoring mantle has passed almost anagrammatically from Diego Costa to Oscar.

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Goodison Park

Ross Barkley has settled back in quickly on his first start of the season with some nice touches and a couple of surging runs. He was also tested out by one or two heavy challenges. Goodison Park was anxious as Barkley hobbled for a while but he is up and running again now.

Former Leicester striker Steve Claridge at Selhurst Park, BBC Radio 5 live

"I worry about Chelsea defensively when someone with raw pace gets at them. Twice already Fraizer Campbell has got in behind them. It's all about what line the defence holds and whether keeper Thibaut Courtois narrows that gap."

  15. CLOSE!published at 15:15 British Summer Time 18 October 2014

Crystal Palace opt for the long ball and it nearly pays off as Gary Cahill dithers, allows the ball to bounce and the lurking Fraizer Campbell sneaks in behind him. Luckily for the England defender, Campbell's lob lands on the roof of the net.

Alexis Sanchez scroes for ArsenalImage source, Reuters

Here's the Alexis Sanchez that Arsene Wenger drooled over at Barcelona. The Chilean switches gear to leave Hull skipper Curtis Davies standing in tar, then fires across Steve Harper into the bottom corner from 15 yards. Quality.

I'm speechless. This is one of the great own goals of our time. Of all time.

Southampton work the ball towards the Sunderland goal, but there appears little danger until Black Cats defender Santiago Vergini inexplicably volleys the ball, 18 yards out, past his own keeper and into the bottom corner. What a strike. What was he doing?

You're kicking the wrong way, Santiago.

It's not happened often this season - but Burnley have the ball in the net. Unfortunately for them, the linesman's flag is raised for offside. Lukas Jutkiewicz's shot is parried by West Ham goalkeeper and Danny Ings taps home the rebound only to see the assistant referee wafting.

  19. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:10 British Summer Time 18 October 2014

Hull City goalkeeper Steve Harper is no spring chicken - but shows the reactions of a man half his age to deny Arsenal. First he beats away Danny Welbeck's shot before stopping Alexis Sanchez on the rebound. Then he flings himself across goal to pluck out Santi Cazorla's curler. Is this guy really 39?
