Crystal Palace had just been starting to turn the screw and they take the lead when Brede Hangeland fires home after his initial header is blocked.

"Hull have started really well, their system with five at the back is working and Robbie Brady and Ahmed Elmohamady are getting forward. But Liverpool have had a great header from Dejan Lovren cleared off the line, and Mario Balotelli is in the game.
"If Liverpool can keep possession and push three players up front they can get on top of Hull."
Liverpool are cooking now, so much so that even Mario Balotelli is in the game. Fed by Raheem Sterling, the Italian's strike from the angle is palmed away by Eldin Jakupovic. Decent save.

Off the line! Liverpool close to being ahead, denied by the on-the-line block of Ahmed Elmohamady. From Steven's Gerrard's corner, Dejan Lovren rises to head towards the corner. With the keeper beaten, Elmohamady stoops to head away.
Relatively quiet start at The Hawthorns as Stephane Sessegnon scuffs his cross after getting himself into a promising position, before Yannick Bolasie sees a shot blocked for Palace soon after.
Excitement in the crowd at Anfield as Raheem Sterling and Robbie Brady go shoulder to shoulder on the edge of the Hull box. Sterling goes down, asking for a penalty, then grabs the ball as he eats the turf. He's penalised for handball and the free-kick goes Hull's way.
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce ought to check his security detail in the Upton Park media area. Midway through his interview to MOTD's Jonathan Pearce, Russell Brand charges in and lands a big smacker on Big Sam's chops.
Brand says: "Yes Sam, yes Sam! Give the man the credit he deserves!"
"I've made it now," says Allardyce, "that's never happened before."

"I haven't commentated at Anfield for a while, and I was really pleased to hear the fans singing You'll Never Walk Alone before kick-off. You used to feel like you could beat anybody after hearing that.
"Liverpool are playing a 4-3-3 formation, while Hull have got three at the back. Hull could be weak down the flanks but Liverpool could be weak up front with Mario Balotelli marked by three centre-backs. He really needs a goal.
"When you are not scoring there are certain things you do not do, as a striker. One of them is you do not turn up at training in a Ferrari, and you do not swap shirts at half-time."
Early chance for Southampton at St Mary's and the Saints probably should be one up. From Sadio Mane's cross-shot, Graziano Pelle gets his studs on the ball and just sends it the wrong side of the post. A whisker away.
Tom, Manchester: Although I'm absolutely gutted with the result, I am still optimistic. Credit to West Ham, they played well and took the chances they got. Jesus Navas and Gael Clichy were catastrophically poor today and the team looked more balanced with dreadful Edin Dzeko off. City could have won it had it not been for Adrian amazing saves and the woodwork on a few occasions. It's not Chelsea's yet!
Kick-off in the 15:00 BST games up and down the country. Time to see what this afternoon brings.
I'm loving the appearance of a Leek Town scarf in the Kop - Leek one of so many non-league teams looking to make the first round proper of the FA Cup, external today. The first-round draw will be across the BBC on Monday evening.

"Up front for Liverpool it is obvious what has happened. Daniel Sturridge got 21 goals last season and Luis Suarez got 30, and they have not replaced that. How can you? Mario Balotelli, unfortunately for him he has had to fill their boots."
Image source, Getty ImagesPlayers in tunnels around the country. A highly unscientific straw poll says about half of clubs get their players to wear tracksuit tops, half don't. Who decides these things?
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini: "West Ham played very well and with a very high intensity. We had a lot of chances to score but it is difficult to win if you don't take them. We were very unlucky in the second half, we hit the post and went just wide with another.
"In the first half we did not play with enough intensity, I thought they would be more tired in the second half and we would be able to move the ball easier which we did but in the end we couldn't take our chances.
"I don't think it was a fault of our team for the performance in the first half, it was more about the intensity of West Ham and you must credit them for that.
"We are just starting the season, we have 80 points left to play for. So it is early. We will continue fighting because there is no title being handed out at the moment."
