Wolves 0-0 Birmingham City
Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett told Sky Sports:
"Credit to Birmingham. They got behind the ball and had a good shape. I felt that clear-cut chances were at a premium. I thought that one goal would be enough but it wasn't to be."

Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett told Sky Sports:
"We wanted a solid base. We felt that we had to make a quick change and, having brought him in I thought Michael Morrison came and did really well for us, as did Paul Robinson.
"I told the players I'm not interested in what has happened before. They've all got a chance to start again. I think that's really important for them."

Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
It was frustrating afternoon for Wolves. They never seemed to get going until the introductions of Bakary Sako, Dave Edwards and later Yannick Sagbo from the bench. Edwards came closest to a goal, hitting the crossbar with a chip over Darren Randolph in the second half.
Kenny Jackett's men are top of the Championship but there must be concerns about their lack of firepower if top-scorer Sako and Nouha Dicko, who missed this game through injury, are unavailable.

"Honour restored for Birmingham City after their humiliation last week. Their new manager Gary Rowett has organised them and it's an important first step on the road to recovery.
"Can Wolves achieve great things without their two star men, Nouha Dicko and Bakary Sako? That might be a discussion point after this match."
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
No doubt that Birmingham City will be the happier of the two sides after a goalless draw at Molineux. They remain third from bottom but are a point from safety and have restored some pride, a week on from their 8-0 humbling at home by Bournemouth.
Credit too to goalkeeper Darren Randolph, who kept a clean sheet and made some top saves as Wolves searched for a winner late on.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
It's all over at Molineux. Gary Rowett has a point in his first game as manager of Birmingham City, and Wolves go top of the Championship, for a few hours at least.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
More last-ditch defending keeps out a host of Wolves shots. Paul Caddis made the final block from a Bakary Sako effort and is then booked for an earlier tug on the shirt of the Mali international.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Wolves winger James Henry is down with cramp, and Birmingham won't mind too much about that. Anything to kill the game off that little bit more.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Callum Reilly blocks a Wolves cross out for a throw-in an attacking position for Wolves. Blues players putting their bodies on the line at the end of this one.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Big chance missed for Wolves, and more good goalkeeping by Darren Randolph. James Henry is found in acres of space down the right and Randolph uses his foot to keep out Henry's angled drive. The rebound falls to Bakary Sako, who shanks a volley over. Three minutes of added time to play.

"Edwards' neat left-foot chop clipped the top of the bar and he was also twice denied by keeper Darren Randolph, while Sako's low cross was somehow allowed to pass across the face of goal.
"And Carl Ikeme had to be alert to keep out a header from Jonathan Grounds.
"But it's starting to look like Molineux's first goalless draw of the season."
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
James Henry puts in another cross from the Wolves right and Yannick Sagbo pokes it over at the back post. A bit more energy from Wolves since their substitutes came on, but they've yet to find a way past a resolute Blues defence.

Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Birmingham winger David Cotterill puts in a free-kick but goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is safely behind it and launches another attack.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Big claims for a Wolves corner as Dave Edwards heads over from a James Henry cross, but a goal kick is given. More impetus in Wolves' play now, but is there enough time for them to force a winner?

Brilliant goalkeeping at the other end from Wolves keeper Carl Ikeme. Jonathan Grounds - you can't keep him out of the action - climbs highest at a corner and Ikeme dives to his right to push his header away from danger. Clayton Donaldson has another shot saved soon after. Still we wait for that elusive first goal in the derby.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Excellent work from Wolves full-back Matt Doherty, who runs Jonathan Grounds ragged down the right touchline and puts in a teasing cross which is expertly gathered by goalkeeper Darren Randolph.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Wolves have been the better side since half-time at a sunny Molineux. Should they have had a penalty? Debatable. No doubt it struck the hand of Jonathan Grounds, but it would have been a harsh one given his proximity to James Henry's delivery.

This isn't the only live football taking place this lunchtime. In the Premier League, Newcastle are hosting Liverpool. The score is 0-0 there after 22 minutes.
Lots for Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett to ponder at half-time. Without the injured Nouha Dicko, the promotion chasers have looked a little toothless in attack. Leon Clarke and Liam McAlinden haven't had much service and I doubt it will be long before we see top scorer Bakary Sako introduced from the bench.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Job done so far for Birmingham City. Coming into this one, Blues were big underdogs, but new manager Gary Rowett has had the desired effect. They were 3-0 behind and down to 10 men at this stage last weekend against Bournemouth, so to be level at Molineux at the break is a real step forward.

David Davis is the first man booked as the Birmingham midfielder goes in on Leon Clarke and then Lee Evans. I think it's more for persistent fouling rather than that incident itself. That brings ironic cheers from the Molineux crowd, given Davis's Wolves connections.

We're about a quarter of the way through the West Midlands derby at Molineux and it's still goalless. Wolves have been unable to do much with the possession they've had and Birmingham, although they haven't offered a massive amount going forward, look safe enough at the back.

David Davis leaves a mark on his former Wolves team-mate Liam McAlinden and the hosts have a free-kick on half-way. Another shot lacking pace from Michael Jacobs is gathered safely by Randolph.

There's a stoppage in play while Birmingham's ex-Wolves midfielder Stephen Gleeson receives treatment. When play resumes, Wolves clear a free-kick and Liam McAlinden runs at Paul Robinson. Despite his ageing legs, the Blues skipper forces youngster McAlinden wide and his shot is a tame one which Darren Randolph saves easily.

BBC WM 95.6's Mike Taylor has had his say on the match:
"The cliché about form being irrelevant in derby matches may well apply here, or so Birmingham City fans will be hoping. Last weekend's calamity against Bournemouth was a new and record-breaking low point, but Gary Rowett's appointment gives cause for optimism. His service as a classy right-back with Blues earns him useful currency with supporters.
"He may need it. The size of the task before him is illustrated by the Championship table and recent results, and on current form he begins with one of the toughest fixtures of the season.
"Wolves are still operating with largely the same squad that won League One, but they have demonstrated their ability to flourish in the Championship. After a wobbly spell, and conceding a three-goal lead at Millwall, they have responded with fine wins over Middlesbrough and Leeds. Their supporters will be expectant, though, and Wolves must show they can handle that pressure."

Birmingham City have turned to their former defender Gary Rowett to arrest a slide that has seen them drop to second from bottom of the Championship.
The 40-year-old, who replaced Lee Clark as manager on Monday, spent two years as a player at St Andrew's and scored 12 goals in 106 appearances before leaving to join Leicester City in July 2000.
After two and a half successful years in charge of Burton Albion, a club he twice led to the League Two play-offs, Rowett takes over a Birmingham side struggling in the second tier and still smarting from last weekend's club-record 8-0 home defeat by Bournemouth.
As Yazz and the Plastic Population once sang: "The only way is up, baby..."

Team news
EmpicsCopyright: Empics
The headline team news from Molineux is that Bakary Sako is on the bench for Wolves. The Mali international winger, the home side's top scorer this season with seven goals, missed last weekend's win at Leeds with a groin problem. Nouha Dicko is out injured, so Leon Clarke starts up front alongside Liam McAlinden, who was recalled from his loan spell at Fleetwood earlier this week.
For visitors Birmingham, Gary Rowett's first team selection as manager shows four changes to the starting line-up. David Edgar is suspended after his red card against Bournemouth last time out, so Michael Morrison starts in defence after joining on loan from Charlton yesterday. Ex-Wolves midfielders David Davis and Stephen Gleeson start against their former club.

Latest PostWolves 0-0 Birmingham
So that's about it from me today, on the day Gary Rowett began his reign as Birmingham City manager with a point against local rivals Wolves. A more than satisfactory start for the new man at St Andrew's.
Wolves fans can enjoy seeing their side top of the Championship table, for a few hours at least, but will reflect on missed second-half opportunities on a frustrating day for Wanderers.

Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett told Sky Sports:
"Credit to Birmingham. They got behind the ball and had a good shape. I felt that clear-cut chances were at a premium. I thought that one goal would be enough but it wasn't to be."
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett told Sky Sports:
"We wanted a solid base. We felt that we had to make a quick change and, having brought him in I thought Michael Morrison came and did really well for us, as did Paul Robinson.
"I told the players I'm not interested in what has happened before. They've all got a chance to start again. I think that's really important for them."

Hands up who said 0-0 at the start? Well, that was the first time Wolves had failed to score at Molineux this season, and the first time Blues had kept a clean sheet. So 0-0 was a surprising final scoreline as far as the stats are concerned.

"Wolves have sure woken up since Bakary Sako and Dave Edwards came on.

Two saves from Darren Randolph, who conceded eight times last weekend remember, ensure this one remains goalless with a quarter of the game to go. Bakary Sako's cross is palmed away and a header from Dave Edwards is tipped over for a corner. Sako is always a threat and has been since he emerged from the bench.

Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Free-kick for Wolves, for a foul by Jonathan Grounds on James Henry. A chance for Bakary Sako to whip one into the box. Before that, Brek Shea is on for Koby Arthur, who has been impressive for the visitors today.

"That was a great header from Grounds and a good delivery from David Cotterill. The game has really started to open up now."
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
OptaJoe: 4 - Bakary Sako has scored in his last four appearances for @OfficialWolves. Run.
Could he be the game-changer?
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Appeals for a Wolves penalty turned down. James Henry's cross hits the arm of Jonathan Grounds from close range and his second cross is palmed clear by Darren Randolph. Two changes for Wolves - Bakary Sako and Dave Edwards are on for Michael Jacobs and Liam McAlinden.

The home crowd have lifted the noise levels inside Molineux and Wolves have responded with a little more urgency in their play. Kevin McDonald sends a shot well over, and as Blues break, a combination of Ethan Ebanks-Landell and Danny Batth concede a corner which is cleared to safety.

Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham

"They have won nine away matches over the last 12 months - and they are certainly well in this one approaching half-time.
"After Wolves' early dominance, Blues are now starting to create openings - and Clayton Donaldson and Koby Arthur (twice) have fired shots just off target at the South Bank end."
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Half-time approaching - can either side find a breakthrough in the derby before the interval?
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Another decent spell of forward play from Birmingham, but no end product as the ball deflects wide off Andrew Shinnie for a Wolves goal kick.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
David Davis is the first man booked as the Birmingham midfielder goes in on Leon Clarke and then Lee Evans. I think it's more for persistent fouling rather than that incident itself. That brings ironic cheers from the Molineux crowd, given Davis's Wolves connections.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
As Martin O'Connor says, Birmingham certainly have bounced back well from last weekend's desperate display against Bournemouth and that horrible 8-0 home defeat. Saying that, could this performance have been any worse than that? The visitors attack again but it comes to nothing.

Quick break from Wolves earns a corner but it could have been so much more. The ball breaks for Leon Clarke and, despite having James Henry free in support, he goes himself and his shot is deflected behind. From the corner, the ball lands outside the box at the feet of Tommy Rowe, who balloons an effort well over.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
The corner is cleared easily enough by Wolves but they are unable to find Liam McAlinden, who is becoming increasingly isolated in this game, and Birmingham have possession back on half-way.

As I say that, Clayton Donaldson squanders the best chance of the game so far. Kevin McDonald is robbed of the ball in a dangerous area and the Blues striker, under pressure from McDonald, shoots wide from 18 yards. Will the visitors regret that later on?
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
We're about a quarter of the way through the West Midlands derby at Molineux and it's still goalless. Wolves have been unable to do much with the possession they've had and Birmingham, although they haven't offered a massive amount going forward, look safe enough at the back.

David Cotterill's free-kick is only headed as far as Koby Arthur, who drives a shot from a tight angle into the side-netting.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Wolves captain Danny Batth shepherds Birmingham striker Clayton Donaldson out of play for a goal-kick, leading to a frustrated reaction from Donaldson, who throws the ball down in disgust. He's not had much in the way of service so far. Maybe a chance for Blues here though, as Koby Arthur wins a set-piece in a dangerous area.

A good run from Michael Jacobs down the left wins a corner for Wolves. Darren Randolph punches James Henry's flag-kick clear and, when the ball is returned into the box, there are about seven Wolves players offside.

"A very poorly observed minute's silence by a small minority at Molineux, to mark the forthcoming Remembrance Week.
"Small factions in both Blues and Wolves sections of the ground fail to show due respect and are only silenced by The Last Post, played by a lone trumpeter, before shouting obscenities at each other at the conclusion of the minute.
"But, when the game gets started, it's controlled aggression out on the park as both sides get stuck in. Wolves are looking the more dangerous early on."
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
A moment to forget for Kevin McDonald as the Wolves midfielder's crossfield pass ends up in the stand, rather than at the feet of one of his team-mates. The pace of the game is quickening, but still no goals.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
Andrew Shinnie sees a diving header fly well over but that's a moment of optimism for Birmingham. Wolves have had a lot of possession but have yet to seriously test Blues keeper Darren Randolph. New Blues boss Gary Rowett will be fairly content with how things have gone for his team thus far.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
David Davis leaves a mark on his former Wolves team-mate Liam McAlinden and the hosts have a free-kick on half-way. Another shot lacking pace from Michael Jacobs is gathered safely by Randolph.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
There's a stoppage in play while Birmingham's ex-Wolves midfielder Stephen Gleeson receives treatment. When play resumes, Wolves clear a free-kick and Liam McAlinden runs at Paul Robinson. Despite his ageing legs, the Blues skipper forces youngster McAlinden wide and his shot is a tame one which Darren Randolph saves easily.
Wolves 0-0 Birmingham
It's an unfamiliar set-up for Wolves today, with Leon Clarke and Liam McAlinden up front as a pair. Kenny Jackett has usually employed Nouha Dicko as a lone striker and three in support behind him, but it's very much 4-4-2 for Wanderers today. The view from the commentary box

His team could end the day top of the Championship table, but Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett knows much of the attention will be on Birmingham and their new manager Gary Rowett today.

West Bromwich Albion's ex-Blues midfielder Craig Gardner: "Good luck to the Blues today. New manager, new start."
Rowett wants a reaction
New Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett is hoping his players can bounce back quickly from last weekend's 8-0 home defeat by Bournemouth.
The 40-year-old takes charge of second-bottom Blues for the first time today and, understandably, he is expecting a better showing from his side.
Rowett told BBC WM 95.6: "We've got three games before the international break. It's going to be about getting some results in these three games, and trying to impart a small fraction of what we want to do straight away.
"But the main thing is seeing a reaction. Let's see which players react, in a really positive way, to what we've been trying to do in the last few days."
What else is happening the Championship
Last night, two goals from ex-Birmingham striker Cameron Jerome earned Norwich City a 2-1 home win over Bolton Wanderers at Carrow Road.
The Canaries jumped above Wolves up to third in the table, while Bolton remain in the bottom three, level on points with Blues.
There are 11 Championship fixtures today - I'm sure many Birmingham fans will be keeping an eye on Blackpool's game with Ipswich later, as their former manager Lee Clark takes charge of the division's bottom club for the first time.

You can see every goal from this weekend's games on the Football League Show at 23:45 GMT this evening. The programme is repeated at 09:00 GMT on Sunday and available for the rest of the week on the BBC iPlayer.
Wolves on a roll
Wolves will go top of the Championship, for a few hours at least, if they avoid defeat at Molineux today.
After storming to the League One title last term, Kenny Jackett's side were widely tipped to challenge for promotion again this season and they have not disappointed thus far.
Leon Clarke, who starts today, netted their late winner in a 2-1 victory at Leeds last Saturday, which took them level on points with leaders Derby County.

Martin O'Connor
Ex-Birmingham captain and BBC WM summariser
"I think he (Gary Rowett) is an organised manager and I think he's a modern manager. He was definitely a model professional when I played with him at Blues. Even though he wasn't the captain, he wasn't scared to pick people out in team meetings.
"Last week has gone. You have to take that and move on. For me, this is the start of a new season for Birmingham."

Mel Eves
Ex-Wolves striker and BBC WM summariser
"I can see where Gary Rowett is coming from with that team. He's gone for solidity. He's brought in a new defender in Michael Morrison, who brings a lot of experience. But in these kind of games, you need people who are going to run with energy. For me, Stephen Gleeson is not one of those kind of players."
Derby day memories
Supporters of Wolves and Birmingham may not consider one another as their fiercest of rivals, but make no mistake, these two don't like each other very much.
Fixtures between the two over the past few years have often been feisty affairs and full of drama.
We've been taking a look back at some memorable derby days from yesteryear.

Rowett back to boss Blues
Line-ups
Wolves: Carl Ikeme, Matt Doherty, Danny Batth (c), Ethan Ebanks-Landell, Tommy Rowe, James Henry, Kevin McDonald, Lee Evans, Michael Jacobs, Leon Clarke, Liam McAlinden.
Subs: Jon Flatt, Dave Edwards, Richard Stearman, George Saville, Bakary Sako, Yannick Sagbo, Rajiv van La Parra.
Birmingham City: Darren Randolph, Paul Caddis, Michael Morrison, Paul Robinson (c), Jonathan Grounds, Stephen Gleeson, Andrew Shinnie, David Davis, David Cotterill, Clayton Donaldson, Koby Arthur.
Subs: Colin Doyle, Grant Hall, Neal Eardley, Callum Reilly, Reece Brown, Brek Shea, Wes Thomas.
Team news
Post update
In football, certain situations can provide great levellers, and Birmingham have some of those in their favour today.
The desire to bounce back from a horrible home defeat - tick. A new manager taking charge for the first time - tick. Facing one of your local rivals - tick.
Will Gary Rowett make a winning start as Blues boss, and prevent Kenny Jackett's Wolves heading to the top of the Championship table?
Kick-off at Molineux is at 12:15 GMT. Full match commentary is available on BBC WM 95.6 and BBC Radio 5 live sports extra.

Molineux and St Andrew's may only be separated by a few junctions of the M6 but the respective starts that Wolverhampton Wanderers and Birmingham City have made to the Championship campaign are many miles apart.
