  1. Wolves 0-0 Birminghampublished at 12:34 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2014

A moment to forget for Kevin McDonald as the Wolves midfielder's crossfield pass ends up in the stand, rather than at the feet of one of his team-mates. The pace of the game is quickening, but still no goals.

  2. Wolves 0-0 Birminghampublished at 12:32 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2014

Andrew Shinnie sees a diving header fly well over but that's a moment of optimism for Birmingham. Wolves have had a lot of possession but have yet to seriously test Blues keeper Darren Randolph. New Blues boss Gary Rowett will be fairly content with how things have gone for his team thus far.

  3. Wolves 0-0 Birminghampublished at 12:30 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2014

David Davis leaves a mark on his former Wolves team-mate Liam McAlinden and the hosts have a free-kick on half-way. Another shot lacking pace from Michael Jacobs is gathered safely by Randolph.

  4. Wolves 0-0 Birminghampublished at 12:29 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2014

There's a stoppage in play while Birmingham's ex-Wolves midfielder Stephen Gleeson receives treatment. When play resumes, Wolves clear a free-kick and Liam McAlinden runs at Paul Robinson. Despite his ageing legs, the Blues skipper forces youngster McAlinden wide and his shot is a tame one which Darren Randolph saves easily.

  5. Wolves 0-0 Birminghampublished at 12:27 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2014

It's an unfamiliar set-up for Wolves today, with Leon Clarke and Liam McAlinden up front as a pair. Kenny Jackett has usually employed Nouha Dicko as a lone striker and three in support behind him, but it's very much 4-4-2 for Wanderers today. As for Blues, Clayton Donaldson is up there on his own and he'll be doing his best to worry Danny Batth and Ethan Ebanks-Landell in the Wolves defence.

"(Birmingham right-back) Paul Caddis has got to talk to Koby Arthur, defensively. He's a young lad. Even now, at this early stage of the game, you can see Wolves are trying to affect Blues down that side of the pitch."

  7. Wolves 0-0 Birminghampublished at 12:24 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2014

David Cotterill's left-wing cross tamely goes through to Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme. At the other end, Leon Clarke's header forces a save from Darren Randolph and the hosts have the first corner - which comes to nothing.

  8. Wolves 0-0 Birminghampublished at 12:21 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2014

Birmingham full-back Paul Caddis makes a well-timed tackle inside the box to rob Michael Jacobs of the ball and Blues have their first spell of possession.

  10. Wolves 0-0 Birminghampublished at 12:20 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2014

Wolves are attacking the old North Bank in the first half and have made early inroads with a couple of throw-ins high up the field on the right-hand touchline. They like to keep the ball for long spells and they've started with that intent today.

  11. Kick-offpublished at 12:17 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2014

Both sides have left the centre circle after the minute's silence and have congregated into their respective huddles. They break, and Wolves get us under way at Molineux.

With Remembrance Sunday fast approaching, we're going to have a minute's silence at Molineux.

  13. Close to kick-offpublished at 12:14 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2014

The two sides have made their way onto the field and someone has turned the noise levels up inside Molineux to 11. The familiar strains of "Hi Ho Silver Lining" are ringing around the stadium. Gary Rowett is in the visitors' dugout for the first time, dressed in a smart blue jumper and club tie.

The atmosphere at Molineux is really starting to crackle as kick-off in this West Midlands derby quickly approaches. Well done to our commentary team, who have battled to be heard against the backdrop of a performing brass band in the build-up, but they've come through unscathed!

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at Molineux

"Leon Clarke makes his only third league start this season for Wolves and will start up front alongside Liam McAlinden, who was recalled from his loan at Fleetwood this week.

"Top scorer Bakary Sako only makes the bench, while rumours of a midweek injury scare over Nouha Dicko now appear to be true - as he is not even named among the substitutes.

"New loan signing Michael Morrison, joining from Charlton Athletic on Friday, comes in for his Blues debut, while Andrew Shinnie and Wolves old boy David Davis are restored to the midfield."

"It's a good game to be involved in. A real derby. And it's about desire, aggression and who wants it most on the day.

"Wolves have had some good performances this season, but, for whatever reason, Blues do seem to play better away from home and I'm hoping they go out there and show they want it more than Wolves."

    Mel Eves
Ex-Wolves striker and BBC WM summariser

"Gary Rowett coming in as Blues' new manager is a big factor. Players will instinctively respond. Anyone who's fallen out with the previous regime has a new lease of life.

"The 8-0 last week was a one-off and the longer they go keeping a clean sheet, the more confident they'll get. But, if Wolves get an early goal, it could shatter their confidence.

"Wolves have had a stumble in the last few games, which not many of us who still watch them regularly were expecting, but Kenny Jackett's doing a good job. And, if you'd asked any fan where they'd like to be at the start of the season, you'd have been happy with joint top."

  20. The view from the commentary boxpublished at 12:02 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2014

BBC WM 95.6's Mike Taylor has had his say on the match:

"The cliché about form being irrelevant in derby matches may well apply here, or so Birmingham City fans will be hoping. Last weekend's calamity against Bournemouth was a new and record-breaking low point, but Gary Rowett's appointment gives cause for optimism. His service as a classy right-back with Blues earns him useful currency with supporters.

"He may need it. The size of the task before him is illustrated by the Championship table and recent results, and on current form he begins with one of the toughest fixtures of the season.

"Wolves are still operating with largely the same squad that won League One, but they have demonstrated their ability to flourish in the Championship. After a wobbly spell, and conceding a three-goal lead at Millwall, they have responded with fine wins over Middlesbrough and Leeds. Their supporters will be expectant, though, and Wolves must show they can handle that pressure."
