Lee, Glos: It looks like Rooney will be playing central midfield again. If he can grow in to that role and help dictate matches it'll be better news for Hodgson than Van Gaal!

Hayden, Hull: That United bench is dripping with pace! Hope Di Maria gets to run at some tired Villa legs today!

John: To David, London (the long suffering Palace fan) Every team are on the wrong end of poor decisions and have rotten luck from time-to-time. Think back to Manchester United's awful run of luck with decisions and deflected goals against them last season under Moyes. But these things all even themselves out in the long-run. Time to suck it up and move on to the next game David. And cheer up, it's Christmas!

Samir Nasri, who has been excellent again, is replaced by Scott Sinclair! His first Premier League game for the club since April 2013. You may well have forgotten that he was still a City player.

    Palace send on Barry Bannan.

Spend £26m, get seven goals in 38 league appearances in return and usually you can usually expect some jeers and general crowd unhappiness in the equation.

Roberto Soldado is defying basic football maths though, still being backed by the White Hart Lane crowd.

"I feel ashamed at not being able to satisfy them," said Soldado., external "It's hard when they sing.

"I hear them chanting my name and if I miss a chance, I feel bad. I can't thank them enough."

The crowd's patience may not have been exhausted but Mauricio Pochettino seems to be at the end of this teather. If Soldado is to score today, it will be from off the bench.

"Palace have been outplayed in the second half. Up until the break they were still right in the game I thought. But in the second half, no. Since the first goal went in City have moved up the gears, and that's been too much for Palace."

Angry Palace fan David, London: "If that (the offside call against James McArthur) was Chelsea, City, or United, everyone would be up in arms about that decision. But because it's 'just' Palace the pundits won't care. Big club bias as usual. Palace have had rotten luck this season which goes under the radar as no one seems to care outside the so called big clubs."

To score three times against a team heavily set up to defend without one fit striker is worthy of praise. Manchester City have the resources to overcome most problems but when you saw the team at noon you did wonder how they would fare.

"Palace are caught on the break. The speed in the attack was too much for them, and after a well constructed move Yaya Toure took one touch and hit it with his left foot. It flew into the net off the post, an absolute storm of a hit."

Clinical counter-attack! Crystal Palace have a corner and seconds later City score. Jesus Navas bursts through, he finds James Milner who then tees up Yaya Toure galloping into the box. His first touch is not great, sending him on to his left foot, but Toure's finish is fantastic - he wallops the ball home off the inside of the post.

"A little bit of the continuity has gone since David Silva has come off. Frank Lampard hasn't had a chance to get into the game yet. I think Samir Nasri has been the best player on the pitch. He has created a lot of City's openings and has shown a huge amount of energy. He's one of the main reasons why Palace have been kept on the back foot."

Another energetic run on the right from Jesus Navas, and his deflected cross almost finds its way through to Frank Lampard lurking with intent. How many more times will we see Lampard in the Premier League?
