Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "We had a committed and united performance. The keeper made some good saves. We knew we needed to be good in the air today.

"I didn't know why Alex Song's goal didn't stand, I thought it would. We scored a good second goal and had many opportunities to score another. It didn't come and at 2-1 I thought the last 30 minutes would be difficult.

"We did dig deep. It is down to consistency and we are slowly getting there."

Andy in Armagh: Manchester City have completely choked this afternoon. They had a golden opportunity to close the gap to Chelsea at the top of the table, but they've fluffed their lines. Chances like this won't come around often. Yaya Toure's presence was well and truly missed in the centre of the park today.

Hugo: A point against the promoted teams just isn't good enough for a team like Man City. You would expect them to do a lot better!

Altay Sonuvar: People complaining how Chelsea are struggling away from home because they drew against Southampton away. Now that City have drawn against Burnley at home, why aren't those people suggesting that City are struggling at home?

Close, but no cigar for Newcastle. Paul Dummett heads on Ayoze Perez's cross and it looks for a moment as if Daryl Janmaat has the simple task of turning in as it runs into his path.

Unfortunately for the hosts Sylvain Distin is also running into his path and the Everton defender gets in the block to keep things all square at the break.

"Chelsea have dropped points today and so have Manchester City but we know there are going to be hurdles between now and the end of the season.

"City were not very convincing, they were missing a striker but they did look vulnerable at the back. Burnley played very well in the second half and deserved a draw."

There are some very embarrassed City players trudging to the sidelines as Liam Gallaghers' vocals ring out of the stadium speakers.

Eliaquim Mangala again failed to impose himself in Vincent Kompany's absence and the rest of his team engaged cruise control far too early when 2-0 up at the break.

They have been caught out by a Burnley side that never quit.
