Those of you who joined us for Football Focus this lunchtime will have seen Blyth's quite brilliant fine list on the wall of their dressing room.

Any club who fines players more for missing a night out than a match are alright by me. They'll all be out tonight with another FA Cup win - surely?

Remember Nikola Zigic? The 6ft 8in Serbian has re-signed for Birmingham and starts at non-league Blyth. If ever there was a day for a big man, this is it.

In the all League One affair between Bristol City and Doncaster, both sides are at near full-strength, with on-loan Fulham striker Matt Smith leading the line for the Robins.

And at the Macron Stadium, Bolton start with FA Cup winner Emile Heskey up front, but Wigan can trump that as FA Cup matchwinner Ben Watson starts in midfield.

Gateshead manager Gary Mills: "It is going to be a tough FA Cup tie but this is England and you never know. We have good players and are capable of putting on good performances and we will have to see if this is our day.

"It is a different mindset as underdogs. The pressure is on West Brom and they know they need a result in a competition I'm sure their new manager is targeting. We have to make sure that they don't get it.

"But we are here to enjoy it. The priority at the start of this season was to get to the third round and the draw is what we wanted - a big Premier League side.

"We want a result and that is not necessarily a win. A draw will bring them back up north for a replay."

Chris Hughton takes charge of his first game as Brighton boss this afternoon as the Seagulls attempt to navigate through a tricky all Championship tie at Brentford.

Former Newcastle and Norwich boss Hughton was appointed on New Year's Eve and will be keen to make an instant impression at a side that has won just once since 8 November.

In another all-Championship clash, Huddersfield host Reading, with the visitors also eager to impress their new manager Steve Clarke, while League Two clubs Cambridge and Luton square off at a very wet Abbey Stadium.

Leicester make seven changes from the side that drew away to Liverpool last time out with Esteban Cambiasso, a starter in Inter Milan's 2010 Champions League triumph, returning to the Foxes midfield.

Newcastle also make seven changes after their 3-3 draw with Burnley. Adam Armstrong partners Emmanuel Riviere up front and midfielder Haris Vuckic makes only his third appearance of the season.

Leicester XI: Hamer, De Laet, Morgan (c), Moore, Konchesky, Cambiasso, James, Knockaert, Nugent Lawrence, Ulloa.

Newcastle XI: Alnwick; Santon, Williamson, Dummett, Haidara; Anita, Tioté (c), Vučkić; Armstrong, Rivière, Cabella.

    Former Tottenham manager David Pleat
    on BBC 5 live Sport

"You're at your strongest when you come to a club, and Tony Pulis should have an effect. But I've always believed, even under Alan Irvine, West Brom have enough quality to stay up in the league. And I do believe West Brom, with the impetus of a new manager and with what should be a full stadium as a result, will prevail."

    FA Cup third-round day.

The gateway to the sporting year. It's how you map out the calendar, plot your diary, schedule your viewing habits.

FA Cup third round, then the Superbowl, League Cup final, Six Nations, the Masters, the Grand National, the Boat Race, the Crucible, London marathon, end of the football season, FA Cup final, Champions League final - I could go on.

Yes, the big teams may not all be playing today. Yes, you may think that the cup doesn't take pride of place any more.

But you try telling me that later on this afternoon when Blyth Spartans, Southport and Gateshead have all worked miracles and become legends.

It's not often you get a chance to make genuine sporting history. Today is that chance for someone...
