"I think that change isolates Jordan Henderson. He's already had a yellow card, and he's now got Eden Hazard running at him, who will take any chance to go down and make the referee make a decision."

As if this tie does not had enough spice, look who's coming on. Here comes Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli for Lazar Markovic.

  4. Football League latestpublished at 21:13 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2015

MK Dons look set to miss out on top spot in League One as a Tom Hopper goal has given Scunthorpe the lead at Glanford Park.

Karl Robinson's side would move top on goal difference with a win but the Iron are on course to move clear of the relegation zone.

In the Championship, Rotherham are now four up against Bolton - Matt Derbyshire with the latest - while three other matches in England's second tier are goalless. Derby will move fourth with the point they are currently getting at home to Blackburn. A win would move them joint top.

Rich from Birkenhead: Watching the game on holiday in Fuerteventura. Liverpool almost as good as last year now. But no end product without Suarez!

Gordon: You wouldn't want to be Diego Costa's cat after a bad day, would you?

Alex Timperly:, external So basically, Mignolet has secretly been world class this whole time.

Stuarty Moran:, external What have Liverpool done with the real Mignolet! Absolutely amazing tonight.

Tom Proffitt:, external This match has turned into a battle of the keepers.

"Jordan Henderson is a vey lucky man. He moves his hand towards the ball. The referee has had two really big calls and he's bottled them both."

Eden Hazard drives forward and pokes the ball towards Jordan Henderson, who appears to handle the ball. The midfielder is on a booking, but referee Michael Oliver deems it was not deliberate. Chelsea protest, Liverpool breath a sigh of relief.

"I thought Diego Costa had scored. What a fabulously timed tackle by Mignolet."

How is this game still 0-0? A slip in the Liverpool defence lets in Diego Costa, but Simon Mignolet tackles the striker as he tries to go round him. Another chance goes missing.

"The more I see Nemanja Matic the better I think he is. He goes about his business very quietly, but he's a lot better technically than people give him credit for."

Chelsea's turn to attack and Willian drives in a low cross which deflects off Martin Skrtel but into the arms of Simon Mignolet.

"Unrelenting pace here at Stamford Bridge and rising temperatures as Chelsea and Liverpool go all-out for the opener. Needless to say Chelsea's Diego Costa at the heart of it all - to say he is up for a scrap is a gross understatement. He has now stood on both Emre Can and Martin Skrtel away from the gaze of referee Michael Oliver."

BBC Radio 5 live Danny Mills at Stamford Bridge

"What a save from Mignolet. He looked stranded as the ball bounced up but he managed to get his leg to it. It's like a kids' game in the park - you have a shot, we'll have a shot - it's fabulous."

X:, external Second stamp of the night from Costa. He should open a post office.

  16. Postpublished at 21:04 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2015

Diego Costa with a low, deflected shot from the edge of the area but Simon Mignolet makes a fine, improvised save with his legs. Liverpool counter and Raheem Sterling wastes a good opening. End to end.

  17. Postpublished at 21:03 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2015

Just an observation, but the two times in which we have seen Diego Costa possibly stamping on a Liverpool defender it's only been picked up by a television replay. Should we cut the ref some slack? I'm playing devil's advocate in case you hadn't noticed.

"What a run that is. Skrtel gets too tight to Oscar, Hazard beats four Liverpool players in the end and drives it inches wide of the post. That would have been up there for Goal of the Season."

Eden Hazard. Eden Hazard. Still Eden Hazard. The Belgian pounces on the ball in the centre of the park, drives forward and he catches the ball sweet as a nut outside the box, but it flies just wide.

Krosskill Ellis:, external You need a strong character in a referee in this game, sadly Michael Oliver is not.

Hassan Aljumah:, external Costa can commit murder and Oliver will claim not seeing the incident. Poor refereeing.

Ash:, external Horrendous pass from Sakho. Shame because he's had a tremendous match so far. Always a mistake in this Liverpool defence.
