Devante Cole's 12th minute strike has put MK Dons top of the league for the time being as they lead Crewe 1-0 at Gresty Road and Swindon are being held 0-0 at Sheffield United.

Last-placed Crawley Town, who have gone 14 matches without a win, have taken the lead against promotion-chasing Preston North End thanks to Anthony Wordsworth's right-footed strike. they would move off the foot of the table as it stands.

"Just seconds after I suggested Manchester United weren't creating anything at all they go and score. But there are some looks of daggers being thrown by the Leicester defenders towards the assistant referee, and on the replay Robin van Persie looks well offside. Leicester were taking a chance with a high line and were caught, but I think it is offside."

This game had 0-0 at half-time written all over it until a lapse of concentration from Andrej Kramaric and a brilliant finish by Robin van Persie. Kramaric dithers in possession, Daley Blind steals the ball and clips a pass for Van Persie, who peels away from the defence and drives in.

Chamakh receives treatmentImage source, Getty Images

A delay in play at Selhurst Park as Marouane Chamakh is stretchered off after a clash of heads with Seamus Coleman leaves the Palace striker with a bloody nose.

Bad luck for Chamakh, who was making his first league appearance for six weeks, as he can't continue and new signing Jordon Mutch comes on to make his debut.

  5. CLOSE!published at 15:26 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2015

Almost a stunner from Victor Moses for Stoke. He bends a 25-yard free-kick towards goal but it just goes the wrong side off the post. QPR aren't in this.

"Fabulous finish from Harry Kane (see 15:14). He gets better and better."

Ben Marshall's right-footed strike has given Blackburn a 1-0 lead over Fulham in their mid-table clash - Rovers have gone five matches without a win.

Nouha Dicko has given Wolves an early lead away to Bolton and they look set to keep the pressure on for the play-off places.

"Queens Park Rangers were trying to play the ball across the back but it finds its way to Jonathan Walters, who just tucks it in. Developing play from the back is one thing, but if it has to go long then do it. So many teams get caught trying to set off attacks. Young players are growing up with his kind of football now. If it has to go long, it has to go long."

Are West Brom getting back into this? In short, no. Quite the opposite in fact as they went more than two minutes without touching the ball. Tottenham are in full control.

  10. CLOSE!published at 15:24 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2015

Brilliant from Philippe Countinho as he waltzes his way through the West Ham defence, before seeing his shot turned wide at the near post by goalkeeper Adrian. Liverpool are turning up the heat.

"QPR have such an obvious lack of confidence and belief. It's as though they are waiting for the inevitable."

Horrible stuff from QPR. Karl Henry finds himself in no mans land as Stephen Ireland nips in to flick the ball to Jonathan Walters. The forward shows good composure to clot under the goalkeeper and into the net. Terrible start for the relegation-threatened QPR.

  13. CLOSE!published at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2015

Liverpool look good going forward. Raheem Sterling dispossesses Andy Carroll, who twists and turns as he drives towards goal. His lay off finds Jordan Henderson 20 yards out but a side-footed shot is easy for goalkeeper Adrian.

    Connor Wickham celebratesImage source, AP

Sunderland have been the better side and deservedly take the lead. Credit to Seb Larsson for starting the move, he holds off a Burnley player to slide a pass for Anthony Reveillere, who crosses into the middle of the area where Connor Wickham is on hand to power a header into the bottom corner.

Angel Di Maria has fired a free-kick straight into the Leicester wall but we are still waiting for our first serious attempt at goal from either team at Old Trafford.

By this stage when the two teams met at King Power Stadium in September, United had gone 2-0 up and Leicester had quickly replied, to start a thrilling and ultimately successful comeback that saw the Foxes eventually win 5-3. Still plenty of time for this game to get going, though.

    Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown
    Final Score

"There were a few chances Harry Kane missed in midweek against Sheffield United in the Capital One Cup and you wondered if that would have an effect on him but he just has that confidence to keep trying. Tony Pulis prides his performances on keeping it tight but today we will see a little bit more from him because West Brom will have to change it. Spurs are running away with this."

  17. CLOSE!published at 15:17 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2015

Palace have responded well to falling behind so early and go close to an equaliser again as Marouane Chamakh's shot from the edge of the box is blocked by John Stones, who once again is in the right place at the right time.

  18. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 15:17 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2015

Shouts for a penalty from Liverpool but surely more in hope than expectation as Adam Lallana's shot is blocked by Winston Reid. Even if that hit his arm, it was ball hit him rather than the other way round. Play rightly waved on.

  19. Postpublished at 15:17 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2015

Former Tottenham striker Garth Crooks, Final Score

"Harry Kane is the man of the moment, isn't he? It's really interesting, because Dembele, who provided the assist, fended off a West Brom defender really well. I've seen some referees give that as a free-kick but the referee waved play on and what a finish from Kane. Two touches. He's deadly in front of goal. Spurs are clearly, in the first 15 minutes, living off that midweek euphoria of reaching Wembley."

One shot so far at the Britannia and it has come from Stoke, with Marko Arnautovic's free-kick miles wide. Dull stuff in the Potteries.
