  1. West Brom get a Kane-ingpublished at 11:29 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2015

One man who is going nowhere this window, no matter how much other clubs would like to take him, is Harry Kane. The Tottenham striker added to his growing reputation with another two goals in the 3-0 win at West Brom yesterday. He now has 20 for the season and sits fifth in the Premier League top-scorers chart with 10. So, after spending all that Gareth Bale money on players who have so far failed to justify their own lofty fees, Spurs' new hero comes from their own youth system and costs them nothing in transfer fees. There is a lesson in that.

With deadline day looming, this morning we're asking you: What's your transfer market value? Do your silky skills command a hefty fee?

Sameyo, Ethiopia: A swap deal with Mario Balotelli will do. He can stay home and watch movies. I'll go do nothing for Liverpool.

Dean: I reckon I'd go for £100. Back in 1893 that would have made me most expensive player in British football!

Allan, London: As a bus driver I'm worth a small fortune to the teams at the bottom… I've got a bus I can bring and park.

  3. Pulis takes his eye off the ballpublished at 11:21 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2015

Danny Ings isn't the only man who has had his head turned by the transfer window. Yesterday, West Brom boss Tony Pulis took "some responsibility" for his side's 3-0 defeat by Tottenham, saying he was distracted by deadline day.

"I have to look at myself and say 'have I given it as much as I could have given it this week?'" he said. "Or have there been other things that have pulled me away from the most important thing - getting the players prepared for a game on Saturday?"

That would suggest the Baggies will be doing a bit of business tomorrow, which isn't really a surprise considering they are still hovering dangerously above the drop zone.

Jedson: £55 no less. Scored 21 in my last 10 in my six-a-side team. I'm on fire! Paul Lambert you listening?? 55 quid!

Peter Collins: I'm sure I could be that guy on the team that never stops running. What's the market rate for that? Few million?

Ash Bowler: I reckon £5 with a £7.50 release clause. Wages - a boot cleaner and a pint at the end of a game. Offers?

  5. Ings affected by speculationpublished at 11:14 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2015

There has been some chat about a potential Liverpool swoop for Burnley striker Danny Ings this transfer window. And according to Clarets boss Sean Dyche, the rumours have been about as helpful as Mario Balotelli in a relegation fight.

Dyche substituted Ings during his side's 2-0 loss at Sunderland on Saturday, with the manager stating afterwards: "I took him off because I thought it had affected him. He was a bit off today but next week he'll be back with his team-mates and he'll be full of beans again."

"Some people criticised Brendan Rodgers for sending Raheem Sterling away (on holiday) but he has come back refreshed. It was good management, Sterling's confidence is growing. What you have with him playing up top is the ability to play balls behind. He is not quite Suarez-esque yet."

Andyjwalters: Bought for £13m of imaginary money when I was eight. At a summer camp. For six and seven year olds. Ah well.

Mark, Belfast: Six used bus tickets and a half-eaten chocolate bar - that's my release clause at the minute... contract wise I'd be willing to spend £5 a week and wash my own kit...

Sturridge revealed after Liverpool's win on Saturday that he has been offering guidance to young team-mate Raheem Sterling and, like any good mentor, is "proud" of the 20-year-old.

"Raheem has done extremely well," Sturridge, who had not played since September, told LFC TV. "He is working hard and I am proud of him as the older brother to see how well he has done."

"I hope he continues working hard and continues playing the way he has. He is improving every single day and he takes it in his stride. He doesn't get too big headed or overly confident and I keep him under my arm when he goes through difficult times. I give him all the credit in the world."

"Sturridge did more in 20 minutes than Mario Balotelli has done all season. Five months is a long time to be out injured and I know from personal experience how he will have felt about stepping back on the pitch after that long out. His goal was a great team goal. Sturridge's first touch is brilliant, his second and it's in the back of the net."

Paul, Norwich: I used to be paid £10 a week and had a goal bonus of a pack of Jaffa Cakes per goal, four packs for a hat-trick! Anyone willing to match that, with a signing-on bonus of 10 packs can have me. Might need to fudge the medical report on my knees though!

Pilky: Been in the same five-a-side team for 16 years averaging three goals a week! Do the math. I've slapped £40m on my head.

Speaking of West Ham, they were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool yesterday, shot down by goals from Raheem Sterling and the returning Daniel Sturridge. The latter's contribution will be particularly pleasing for the Reds, who have lacked a cutting edge in his absence, with Luis Suarez sold and summer signing Mario Balotelli failing to, well, bring anything to the table.

From a deal that is on to one that is off. Darren Fletcher's switch from Manchester United to West Ham was canned yesterday. Scotland international Fletcher, who turns 31 on Sunday, was in talks with the Hammers about moving to Upton Park after being granted a free transfer.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce and United gaffer Louis van Gaal both spoke about the deal's failure, with the latter saying that West Ham only wanted the Scot on loan, adding: "That was not the agreement."

The Dutchman also said: "He is my third captain so it is not a problem for me. Manchester United just want to help him play more. For him now that is a big pity."

As we're chatting transfers today, here's the latest on Chelsea's move for Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado... it's happening, according to hic boss in Italy Vincenzo Montella.

The Colombia winger, 26, has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League leaders. The fee rising to £26.8m - Cuadrado's release clause - with Mohamed Salah likely to move the other way on loan.

Montella said: "It was a sale that had to be done. The club has done the right thing because we are also getting a very good player."

Ex-England striker Alan Shearer: Chelsea will be the most satisfied. It was more like a performance we got used to seeing from them last season. I think both teams will be content with a point but Chelsea without doubt will be the happiest because they are still five points clear at the top of the table."

Former England midfielder Danny Murphy: "There's nothing wrong with doing what Chelsea did. I don't think their tactics were wrong, they were clever. They're still five points clear."

  18. Diego defends himselfpublished at 10:30 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2015

For his part, Diego Costa has declared his innocence at the stamp charges brought against him by the FA adding that "when I get home I can go to sleep knowing that I've not done anything wrong."

The Spain international says he "accepts and respects" the punishment, but stresses he did not set out to hurt his opponent. "It is a suspension. I have to accept that, I have to take it," he added. "Obviously I feel sad because I'm not going to be able to help the team to play.

"I'm not saying I'm an angel. I'm no angel. You can see that. But every time I play I will play the same way because that's the way I am."

It's the same debate that used to come up when talking about the likes of Eric Cantona and Wayne Rooney - if you take that edge out of them, would they be the same player?

Look. There he is again. Jose, looking glum, head in hands. Three shots on goal, Chelsea's worst in 11 years, says the Daily Mail. All doom and gloom down at Stamford Bridge isn't it? Apart from the fact that they lead the Premier League by five points, they're in the League Cup final, and motoring along nicely in the Champions League, obviously...

  20. Jose no-showpublished at 10:19 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2015

There were few fireworks on the pitch at Stamford Bridge yesterday and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho ensured there were few off it as well by failing to turn up to speak to the media afterwards. This follows on from the cancelling of the Chelsea press conference in the build-up to the big game.

On Friday, Blues striker Diego Costa was given a three-match ban for a stamp on Liverpool's Emre Can, thus ending his involvement in Saturday's match.

And on Wednesday, Mourinho was fined £25,000 for comments he made after the 1-1 draw with Southampton on 28 December. He claimed there was a "campaign" to influence referees' decisions against Chelsea.

At the moment, Jose clearly feels that a "Chelsea vs the world" vibe suits his side.
