Oscar, Willian and Eden Hazard have been brilliant all season for Chelsea and the trio link up to provide the opener at Villa Park. The two Brazilians work the ball over from the right and the Belgian is on hand to slide in a finish.

Close for Southampton as Victor Wanyama sets Sadio Mane through and the striker chips the onrushing Rob Green but the ball goes wide of the far post.

There's no pattern emerging at the Liberty early on as both sides feel each other out.

Graziano Pelle tries his luck from range for Southampton but Rob Green is equal to the shot. Southampton are bossing possession and spreading play out wide rather nicely.

Chelsea's kit is an eye-stinger this afternoon, but the visitors have made a typically enterprising opening, penning Villa back. Tom Cleverley is booked for a nasty lunge.
