Paul Moore: Manuel Pellegrini is running on borrowed time at the moment. Barcelona will crucify City on this form!

Andrew Neill: Harry Kane the only home goal scorer so far today. Surely that must change..?

MOTD's Simon Brotherton at the Etihad

"That was a very stodgy first half from Manchester City. They have been disjointed and devoid of inspiration. Very disappointing from City. Hull, in contrast, have played well."

  6. Postpublished at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2015

Eden Hazard on another mazy run for Chelsea, who have had an easy 45 minutes so far. His shot is eventually deflected wide.

    Matt TargettImage source, PA

News from Southampton on left-back Matt Targett, who was carried off on a stretcher after a nasty-looking aerial collision with QPR winger Matty Phillips. The 19-year-old has been taken to hospital for a precautionary X-ray.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2015

MOTD's John Roder at the Liberty

"The arrival of Jermain Defoe at Sunderland might just be the most astute piece of business of the transfer window, his second goal since arriving having put them ahead in a close, keenly-fought first half."

  9. INJURY TIMEpublished at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2015

    Former Tottenham striker Garth Crooks
    Final Score

"A classic Jermain Defoe goal, making the chance himself and burying it. Sunderland are looking to feed him in and around the edge of the box, and it was a lovely finish."

  11. Postpublished at 15:45 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2015

There's no sign of Manchester City dragging themselves back into this just yet, with Hull's high-energy pressing game working a treat so far.

  12. Postpublished at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2015

Palace centre-half Scott Dann has a nasty clash of heads with Wes Morgan and unsurprisingly comes off worse. He needs some careful treatment, looks like he is winded, and he's very dazed. He may have to come off. But he's on at the moment.

Moments after Ki Sung-Yueng had a goal chalked off for offside - he tapped home Jonjo Shelvey's free-kick from six yards out - Sunderland pour up the other end and Jermain Defoe runs 40 yards with the ball before smashing past Lukasz Fabianski.

He's still got it - and he's now scored against all 20 of the teams currently in the Premier League.

After Dwight Gayle argues with the linesman about the placing of a corner - just put in the quadrant Dwight - Palace almost take the lead.

Gayle's delivery is excellent and Scott Dann heads into the side-netting.

  15. Postpublished at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2015

Swansea remain the better team at the Liberty, without having had too many goal-scoring opportunities.

  16. Postpublished at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2015

A little opening for QPR as Adel Taarabt controls the ball in the area and gets a shot off, but a Southampton defender gets across to block it.

  17. Postpublished at 15:37 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2015

Former Aston Villa striker Dion Dublin
    Final Score

"Hull have been on the front foot all the way through this game. Joe Hart came to read it but the communication between him and Vincent Kompany was wrong. Manchester City have had more possession but Hull have been so much more positive with the ball when they have had it. There is confidence."

  18. Postpublished at 15:37 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2015

    Former Tottenham striker Garth Crooks
    Final Score

"Hull had been unlucky not to take the lead up to this point. They have really held their own. Man City look like a side capable of winning the title, but they look like the need to be kick-started before they start competing in games. Why? Hull look so much brighter, and they are playing through and around Manchester City. Make no mistake, they are worthy of this 1-0 lead."
