So the gloom over Ibrox has lifted at least for a while as they move back into second place in the Scottish Championship after a convincing win in Kirkcaldy.

  3. Rangers coach Gordon Durie on BBC Radio Scotlandpublished at 22:00 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2015

"The performance was great last week, but we didn't get the result and I think we got both tonight.

"We probably made it a bit harder for ourselves in the last 15 minutes by switching off and giving them a goal.

"We probably should have been out of sight by that time, but delighted with the three points and I think the scoreline flattered them.

"I've had Andy with the Under-20s. He's got a great attitude and has goals like that in his locker.

"He's got his chance and he's come in and taken it.

"Delighted not just for him. I think the whole team showed a spirit that's what we need for the rest of the season.

"Great for Boydy as well. He's not scored many goals and he had chances before that, but that will hopefully put him on the road to a lot more."

  4. Raith Rovers manager Grant Murray on BBC Radio Scotlandpublished at 21:54 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2015

"It didn't feel like we got high enough up the pitch to bother them.

"We did get a goal back, but it was not enough in the end.

"It seems to be we have come up against Rangers in the league three times and they have been bang on each time.

"It now makes it difficult for us for the play-offs regardless of what Falkirk and Queen of the South do tomorrow.

"We need to go on another run."

Going back to Kris Boyd's comments. That was his tenth goal of the season. So he has 11 more to find before the end of the season if he is to reach his target.

  7. Rangers striker Kris Boyd on BBC Radio Scotlandpublished at 21:42 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2015

"If we are going to take a positive from tonight, we have got the three points.

"We have created the chances and again we've not taken them, but we've got the victory.

"I have found myself in and out of the team and now I am back on the mark and hopefully I can kick on.

"I know my performances have not been good enough, but any Old Firm striker should be getting 20 goals a season and hopefully I can aim for that now."

Rovers were disappointing and their run of seven games without defeat comes to an end to leave them in sixth place, still six points adrift of Falkirk.

Rangers end a run of three straight defeats to move back into second place in the Scottish Championship ahead of Hibs. A convincing victory despite the closeness of the scoreline.

"We made it harder for ourselves by losing that goal, but we got the three points.

"If we had got the third one, it was game over, but we switched off and I think 2-1 flatters them.

"I have had Andy with the 20s and he has been given his chance and taken it with a wonderful goal.

"But not just him, we showed the spirit we need between now and the end of the season.

"Great for Boydy as well. He had chances before that, but hopefully that will put him on the road to many more before the end of the season."

Rovers' Ross Callachan does well to control a Kyle Hutton clearance and volleys on target from the edge of the penalty area, but Lee Robinson saves at his near post.

Rangers continue to dominate despite that goal and Kris Boyd sends a low drive straight at goalkeeper David McGurn, but Rovers are looking more lively now as they have rediscovered some belief.

Out of nowhere, Rovers are back in the game as Mark Stewart's ball across the penalty box bobbles into the path of Ryan Conroy and the one-time Celtic winger's shot deflects off the foot of Lee Wallace, over despairing goalkeeper Lee Robinson and into the net.

Somehow Rangers are not 3-0 ahead as Haris Vuckic begins to show his class by turning inside before firing a powerful left-foot drive from 18 yards that goalkeeper David McGurn can only push away. The diving Nicky Clark somehow heads wide the rebound from in front of goal.
