AWAY GOAL. Jurgen Klopp punches the air like a Ryder Cup golfer.

Giorgio Chiellini resembled Bambi, slipping in possession and Marco Reus is in the kind of form to gobble up that opportunity. One touch, out of his feet, head up, bottom corner. Right footed he beat Buffon with ease.

A fourth goal in as many games for Reus.

Cracking start for Barcelona in their tie at Manchester City - and yes, it is that man Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan pounced after City failed to clear a cross, smashing the ball across goal and into the bottom corner.

Replays of Tevez's opener show Marcel Schmelzer was right in there bidding for an own goal but I think the ex-Manchester United striker will get the nod for that one. What a start for Juve.

Dortmund were popping the ball around without a cutting edge before hand. They'll need a lot more than that now.

A tap in and reward for some organised defending by Juventus.

A long spell of possession for their visitors saw the home side get every man behind the ball in a tight block and they spring to break through Alvaro Morata. His shot is spilled by Roman Weidenfeller and there is Carlos Tevez to tap the ball home. It trickles over the line. A horrible moment for the Dortmund goalkeeper.

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has said it is "fundamental" his side do not concede tonight, hardly what a neutral fan wants to hear.

"It's 180 minutes against a side in good form like we are," says Allegri. "Borussia have four very fast, technically gifted forwards. We've got to limit their strengths and try to play a good, intense, physical and technical game."

Juventus have the best defence in Serie A, conceding just 13 goals in 24 league games.

A delightful passage of play sees Dortmund switch flanks with one-touch rhythmic passing and they keep the ball, taking the sting out of the early home attacks.

They look confident in possession Dortmund but as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang injects a bit of pace with a rapid turn, his one-two cannot open up this tight home defence.

Jeers rain down on the turf as a good old push in the back by a Dortmund central defender gets no reaction from the referee. He fancies letting this one flow early on.

Juventus look more settled and force a corner through Arturo Vidal as his cross is smothered. There looks like there is plenty of home intent and Morata forces an advanced throw. No hanging around here.

    Alex Connolly: Rues would excel

Ross: Arturo Vidal can play as a centre half, a box to box midfielder and a striker. World class!

Gianluigio Buffon collects a pass back from Giorgio Chiellini and slices it into touch. Two men with a combined age of some vintage bringing hassle to their own side there. It would take a brave man to put them in their place though.

Dortmund striker Ciro Immobile knows all about those famous black and white striped Juventus shirts.

He signed for the Old Lady as an 18-year-old for around £60,000 but ended up costing a lot more as the Old Lady entered into co-ownership deals for the Italy striker.

He only played three games for the club in all but has netted seven times in 21 outings for the BVB.

  13. CLOSE!published at 19:49 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2015

Talk about having no place for Nostalgia. Ciro Immobile returns to the club where he started his career here but lets rip early on in a bid to put his name in lights. Just over. Whipped and vicious but three feet off line.

  14. KICK-OFFpublished at 19:48 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2015

The ball is rolling, Giorgio Chiellini is spraying it around across the home defensive line. It says everything that one so experienced is still not captain, Gianluigi Buffon in his way of course.

"Ole ole, ole ole, Juve...Juve" sing the home supporters as the coin toss between Mats Hummels and Gianluigi Buffon takes place. A smoke canister has been set off behind one goal, flags aplenty.

The players gather in the tunnel. Wonderfully contrasting colours as the famous black and white stripes stand alongside the blinding yellow.

Lots of embraces. Handshakes, hugs, the odd kiss - very continental. The Juventus tunnel resembles an office with artificial lighting. Out they walk, a mosaic spreads all around the stadium and here comes that Champions League music. Hairs on end...

Borussia Dortmund's early-season dance with relegation attracted many column inches.

How could a side managed by the charismatic Jurgen Klopp be so bad? Well the spectacled character has guided his side up to 12th now, thanks in no small part to three straight league wins.

Form and momentum seem to be arriving at the right time.

"It will take a while before we find ourselves in a different situation in the Bundesliga," manager Jurgen Klopp said. "Until then, the pressure remains. The Champions League is a whole different story."

  18. A European road trip?published at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2015

Around 590 miles - including scenic Switzerland - split Dortmund and Turin. That is roughly the distance Southampton would face if they ever got a tricky European away tie at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Dortmund flew south - because footballers do not like buses these days. A shame surely? Imagine navigating Switzerland by bus. Those bending roads, the three-point turns, maybe even Jurgen Klopp and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang getting out to guide the driver around bends. Classic.

  19. Headphones and snooker cuespublished at 19:36 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2015

Dortmund arrived at Juventus Stadium with the usual array of big headphones covering the cold ears of their players. Tracksuits aplenty, though Jurgen Klopp went for a crisp grey suit, and one man, seen here at the back, looked to be carrying a snooker cue.

Juventus make four changes from the side that beat Atalanta on Friday with striker Alvaro Morata, playmaker Arturo Vidal and defenders Patrice Evra and Stephan Lichtsteiner recalled. Evra's former Manchester United team-mates Carlos Tevez and Paul Pogba also start with Andrea Pirlo pulling the strings in midfield.

Juventus XI: Buffon, Lichtsteiner, Bonucci, Chiellini, Evra, Marchisio, Pirlo, Pogba, Vidal, Tevez, Morata.

Dortmund rested both captain Mats Hummels and striker Ciro Immobile for the 3-2 win over Stuttgart on Friday, but both are back to face Juve. Marco Reus, who recently signed a new contract with the club, and influential midfielder Ilkay Gundogan are also included. Former Manchester United playmaker Shinji Kagawa drops to the bench.

Borussia Dortmund XI: Weidenfeller, Piszczek, Sokratis, Hummels, Schmelzer, Gundogan, Sahin, Mkhitaryan, Reus, Aubameyang, Immobile.
