"QPR gambled when they appointed Chris Ramsey as manager, and it has not paid off for them yet - he has lost all three games since he was given the job until the end of the season.

"Crystal Palace, in contrast, got it right when they appointed Alan Pardew. They have not maintained their form from his first few weeks in charge but they have already climbed out of immediate relegation danger.

"After this game, QPR play two more teams who are just above them in the table, Everton and West Brom. It is all well and good looking at the fixture list and thinking they are winnable games for QPR, but the problem is they cannot beat anyone at the moment."

QPR have the worst away record in the top flight but there is hope for them as Crystal Palace have not won at home since beating Tottenham on 10 January.

A loss today will drag the Eagles back into the relegation scrap and it's a scenario their manager Alan Pardew is keen to avoid.

"Frankly, the home form since the start of the season has not been good, and we have to improve it," says Pards.

"We have done enough away from home to stay in the division already, but our home form does not reflect what it should be, so that is where the improvement needs to gain some momentum."

This morning the Danny Baker Show on BBC Radio 5 live wants to know about times you've been asked to play or officiate at the last minute by complete strangers. Gerard ends up with a Fifa ban....

Gerard from Ickenham: I played in a 5 aside league and while waiting for the next game another team said they were short a goalie. I stepped up and kept a clean sheet. The next week we had a letter from the league saying that I had broken FIFA rules by playing for more than one club in a season and was therefore banned!

You may not be familiar with the above sight but it is Manchester United's on-loan striker Radamel Falcao celebrating a goal.

The Colombian has struggled since his loan move to Old Trafford from Monaco last summer and has bagged just four goals in 20 appearances.

"We are looking for the solution," says United boss Louis Van Gaal.

"You can give fantastic performances in another country but not in the country that you are present for. That is not the first example and it will not be the last example."

United plays Spurs in a match that kicks off at 16:00 GMT on Sunday.

Right, enough fluff. Let's get into the nitty gritty shall we.

To call Liverpool's contract talks with forward Raheem Sterling protracted would be an understatement and, according to the Daily Mirror,, external they have taken a turn for the worse from the Anfield club's perspective.

Sterling has put a stop to negotiations until the end of the season as he wants to concentrate on helping Liverpool, who are chasing a top-four league slot and FA Cup success, finish as high as they can.

  12. Jose logicpublished at 08:48 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2015

Are you a glass half full kind of person or a glass half empty geezer/gal? Well, Jose Mourinho is definitely the former and, according to the Chelsea manager's logic, optimists are more successful.

"You have to be optimistic to succeed. Be optimistic. Believe in yourself. Be positive," says the Portuguese.
