"That is so much better from West Ham (see 52 mins). Now Aaron Creswell has got players to aim at - there were three West Ham players in the box that time, and again Creswell's delivery was excellent. It's just unfortunate that Diafra Sakho couldn't direct his header on target."
Aaron Cresswell was the provider for Sakho and he has impressed so far. No player in the match has more than the 62 touches the left-back has chalked up.
His width down the left is more important with West Ham now playing a diamond and if a goal is to come from anywhere, he looks likely to play a part.
SAKHO... inches wide. Inches. A glancing header from Aaron Cresswell's cross.
Jermain Defoe gives the home defence the slip and is in is he? No. The ball skips up and catches his hip so he turns back.
James Collins stepped up and that almost turned out to be costly. A corner is forced and John O'Shea gets a head on the ball to turn it towards goal but Jack Rodwell cannot apply a finish as he gets pressured on the six yard box.
How has the change at the break tweaked the West Ham shape? It looks like a diamond setup now. Alex Song anchoring, Mark Noble right, Stewart Downing left, Kevin Nolan behind Diafra Sakho and Carlton Cole.
Will the shape stretch Sunderland a bit more as they squeezed space out of the game in the first half?
Connor Wickham's industry has been admirable, he has grafted. What is his quality like though from 25 yards? Not good enough.
He wraps his right foot around an effort but that is wide of the right hand post and too high.
We have a change as Carlton Cole comes on for Matt Jarvis. Will this mean a re-shuffle? Jarvis was decent in the opening period and delivered a couple of good crosses, ironically ideal deliveries for a player like Carlton Cole.

Southampton goalkeeper Kelvin Davis: "We knew Burnley were going to be tough to break down but it is nice for manager Ronald Koeman to get the win on his birthday.
"It does not look good for Fraser Forster but we wish him all the best. It is a mental battle being a back-up goalkeeper and disappointing to come on in them circumstances.
"I see there is a spot opened up in the England side now."
Ronald Koeman recently posted several pictures of himself and his Southampton players engaging in winter sports while on a mid-season break.
It is safe to say he gets looked after on the south coast as he tweets:, external "Many thanks to the board of Southampton for this delicious surprise."
Koeman is 52 today and his side won 2-0 against Burnley.
Leicester manager Nigel Pearson: "The arrogance of the man (referee Mike Dean) at times is frightening. I find it difficult to accept that we have to deal with yet another contentious decision that has not gone our way.
"What I will say about our players is they gave everything and I'm sure Spurs must be relieved.
"It remains a very frustrating season for us because of the level of performance and yet we are just not getting over the line with results. It is two players colliding (for the penalty). I just find it bizarre and that's the nicest thing I can say.
"I feel at the moment that we continue to be short changed. I'm not suggesting that is deliberate but we can't be on receiving end of so many poor decisions.
"What is the point in talking to him (referee Mike Dean). He is one of the most arrogant men I have met."

"Maybe the scoreline warrants a bit of booing in some people's eyes but not the performance. West Ham have been the better team for me, the only problem has been getting people on the end of crosses in the box. Diafra Sakho, their lone centre-forward, has been well marshalled by the Sunderland defence. I think Sakho needs help - another centre-forward needs to be on the pitch. Whether Sam Allarydce will make a change remains to be seen."
West Ham just on top on the face of the half-time stats but these overlook the quality of possession.
The home side have completed just 71% of their passes, the visitors 62%. This game is an ongoing battle for the ball only for the side with it to do little.

I'm sure Dick Advocaat has heard all about the unfailing excitement and quality of the Premier League but he hasn't seen it in that 45 minutes. Wickham tested Adrian and Song worked Pantilimon, but Defoe had the best chance only to shoot over.
Dick Advocaat marches down the tunnel with purpose. He looks satisfied and his team have looked hard to beat. They are compact, scrapping for second balls galore.
Jermain Defoe has missed the golden opportunity to make it a perfect 45 minutes for the north-east side.
Mark Noble shows his range, crafting a pass with the outside of his foot around the full-back and Matt Jarvis wins the race to cross, no one in the mixer though.
We will have two added minutes.

"I don't mean to be flippant but I've only just looked down and realised Jack Rodwell is playing. He's been keeping his position with Jordi Gomez and Seb Larsson in the Sunderland midfield, but he's done nothing with the ball whatsoever. He's just not got into the game at all."
Rodwell has touched the ball 12 times in 44 minutes.
