Well we did not expect this! Dante and Manuel Neuer are powerless to stop Hiroshi Kiyotake slotting one in to put the home side ahead, against all the odds. Lovely play from Jimmy Briand to set up the Japan international.

Game on here - Pep Guardiola will be going spare. Dante gave Kiyotake all kinds of room.

Can we have some goals, bitte?

Arjen Robben certainly wants one - he's off scampering down the right wing and thinks he's forced a corner. Referee says no, my eyes say yes.

Hamburg are dealt as blow as ex-Arsenal centre-back Johan Djourou, who has featured in every Bundesliga game this season, limps out through injury.

Not much between the sides at the moment, although Mohamed Gouaida's shot from a narrow angle moments for ago went just over the crossbar for Hamburg.

  4. CLOSE!published at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2015

A moment of concern here for Bayern as Holger Badstuber dallies in possession and Artur Sobiech looks like he might steal in to be one-on-one with Manuel Neuer.

Bayern recover, but then they're almost punished again as Jimmy Briand connects with a corner - it goes over and the flag was up anyway.

I'm told half of the goals Bayern have conceded this season have come from set-pieces. That's only 10, by the way.

Here's a really nice niche, Arjen Robben stat for you actually. If Bayern win today, Robben will set a new Bundesliga record for reaching 100 wins. He'll have done it in only 126 games.

Such an incredible return from Robben this season - 17 goals in 19 league appearances. And you can throw in eight assists too while you're at it. Real Madrid missed a trick letting him go if you ask me. Although you could argue so too did Chelsea when they sold him to the Spanish club.

Robben at Bayern, Kevin De Bruyne and Andre Schurrle at Wolfsburg, plenty of former Chelsea players in action today come to think of it.

An over hit pass from Xabi Alonso sails over the head of Arjen Robben who's been lurking out wide on the Bayern right. He's the one they want to get the ball to.

I've heard conflicting things about Alonso's season so far. A good friend of mine was laying into him the other day. And he's allowed to, he's a Bayern fan.

Nothing to report from Augsburg either. If Wolfsburg can pick up three points and Bayern lose (a big ask I know) they could narrow the gap at the top of the Bundesliga to five points.

No action to report from the north coast as yet. Dortmund are looking the better team, Marco Reus has been getting on the ball early.

I went to Hamburg not so long ago and have to say - beautiful city. And if you haven't tried it already - go there and order a Labskaus.

Those of you from Merseyside should have pricked up their ears - that's where the name Scouser comes from. Although the Hamburg variant involves beetroot, herring and a fried egg. Honestly, it's delicious.

Germany international goalkeeper Neuer is captain today as well. He looks very composed as a Christian Schulz gets on the end of a Hiroshi Kiyotake free kick, with the Hannover defender's header going comfortably wide.

Looking at the line-ups, you have to say Hannover have got decent firepower up front. Former Lyon striker Jimmy Briand could cause the away side problems, but let's not forget who's standing in between the Bayern sticks...

Robben has scored 17 goals in 19 league games this season, providing eight assists.

In a wide-ranging interview in February, he told the Guardian, external how Bayern manager Pep Guardiola is still getting the best out of him, at age 31.

"When I started working with Pep 18 months ago I noticed how he goes much deeper into football," Robben said.

"His intelligence is obvious, tactically he's one of the best in the world and under him I have made more steps in my development. I've come quite a long way these 18 months."

    Robert Lewandowski

The odds are on Lewandowski adding to his tally of 11 league goals for this season then, especially as the Poland international is starting to hit the kind of form he showed at Borussia Dortmund last season.

Lewandowski now has four goals in his last three games, having scored just once in the last seven.

But this year it's Arjen Robben who's been Bayern's go-to guy...

Four wins in a row have helped Dortmund climb out of the danger zone and back up to 10th. Jurgen Klopp's side are now just eight points short of a place in next year's Champions League qualification play-offs, but they had a midweek injury scare over Marco Reus.

Dortmund said Reus had to "fight against the clock" to be fit for today's game after taking a knock in Tuesday's 2-0 cup win over Dynamo Dresden, but the 25-year-old starts.

Hamburg, who have never been relegated since the formation of the Bundesliga in 1963, are just one point above the relegation play-off places.

Wolfsburg are still very much in the hunt for what would be just their second German league title, with their first having come in 2009.

Coach Dieter Hecking has got Dutchman Bas Dost smashing in the goals for fun, Kevin De Bruyne is pulling the strings in midfield, and with the signing of Germany international forward Andre Schurrle from Chelsea in January they have bolstered their front line still further.

Unbeaten since November, today they are up against a strong Augsburg side, who are punching above their weight to sit sixth in the table.
