  • Juventus hold 2-1 first-leg advantage

  • Dortmund have never beaten Juve at home

  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:52 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2015

Alvaro Morata is in, inside-right channel, fed by Carlos Tevez, he dinks it over Roman Weidenfeller does he... no.

The home keeper blocks with his shoulder and that is a corner.

That was game-set-match right there but Morata double faulted.

  2. Postpublished at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2015

Marco Reus stumbles his way through midfield and passes to Oliver Kirch but his pass is wayward and again Juventus steal. The home side resemble a boxer throwing punches but landing nothing.

Allegri's side are bouncing around almost smiling at the tepid efforts. Gianluigi Buffon is reading a comic in goal.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:47 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2015

Marcel Schmelzer, Dortmund's heavily involved left-back makes way for Oliver Kirch and we are back underway here. A goal would send these home fans wild and ramp up the pressure.

  5. Italy's hopepublished at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2015

'Go Juve', reads the headline in Gazzetta dello Sport as Italy holds its breath in anticipation of a Champions League quarter-finalist.

Italy had no last-eight representative last season and the country has not seen one of its teams reach the semi-finals since Inter Milan won the competition in 2010.

They are closing in on having interest in Friday's last-eight draw. Gazzetta even picked the opening goal scorer.

The opening half has been one of disruption.

Dortmund have had 63% of the ball but only completed 83% of their passes. Juventus have spent a fair bit of time without the ball, notching just 37% of possession and giving the ball away with one pass in every four.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2015

Claudio Marchisio fouls on the halfway line and more of those well timed offences will help Italy's finest side over the line here.

Carlos Tevez has done the business again with an early belter. Jurgen Klopp said his side faced football's "greatest challenge" before kick off. What on earth do they face now?

Pass, pass, pass from Dortmund but their attacks end in the final third time after time. Juve have two banks of four (it's like the nineties all over again) behind the ball.

Ilkay Gundogan tries to split their defence with a through ball but that is hacked away. Even when Dortmund inject some pace into an attack, the away side scramble well to recover.

Juventus hail from Turin, but what else does the city offer?

Turin was Italy's first capital in 1861 and though the economic output of Milan and Rome have edged this northern city into bronze medal position for significance, it still produces a fair amount of clout.

One of the more tasty bits of output is a chocolate called Gianduiotto (pictured). Every year Turin hosts a two-week chocolate festival. Sounds like it's worth a visit.

If you're from Glasgow then you may be made to feel extra special as Turin is twinned with the Scottish city.

Lots of play in the Juventus final third but Buffon is yet to make a meaningful save.

Both managers stand with their hands in their pockets. Klopp in a tracksuit, Allegri in a suit. The stylish one is dressed for the part as things stand.

Alvaro Morata can shoot but it's a horrible ball to volley as it loops to him and he sends it into orbit.

Patrice Evra, Giorgio Chiellini, Carlos Tevez, Gianluigi Buffon. One word to link the foursome - experience.

Evra can race down the left but puts his foot on the ball, turns back and will keep the ball. That's all they need to do. Half-time with this lead would be a big milestone for Juve.

A reminder that two home goals here would take us to extra time. Fancy some of that? Me too.

For our desire to be fulfilled, we need Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to stop shooting like a Martian who has never kicked a ball before. The Gabon international laces one from the right of the area which has throw-in written all over it.

The home fans continue to echo noise around this stadium but their side are struggling in the final third. Effort, yes, plenty of it. Pressure yes, but end product not.

A cross from the right is good and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang cannot connect but Kevin Kampl can, only to guide the ball away from goal.

That's the opposite direction to where you should shoot Kevin.

In his defence, he was taken by surprise as the ball fell to him.

Borussia Dortmund must be going through tonight. Recently axed Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert says they can so maybe we wrap this live text up early doors and let the inevitable take place.

"I think they've got a great chance, I really do, especially being at home," Lambert told the Bundesliga website. "The fans will really help them, but Dortmund also have world-class players in their squad.

"There are goals in the team and they're one of the best sides in the competition, and if Dortmund produce what they're capable of, I don't see why they can't qualify."

Lambert played in central midfield for Dortmund during their 1997 Champions League final victory over Juventus.

  16. CLOSE!published at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2015

A fear for this game is that Juventus go into disruption mode and simply foul to break play up. Risky with five players a yellow away from suspension but we are seeing early signs of it as Alvaro Morata tracks back to hack a man down in a crossing area.

Marcel Schmelzer deliver left footed and it bounces in a dangerous area. A better cross but Juve survive.

Kevin Kampl of Dortmund has blonder hair which would not look out of place on the catwalk. It's a flash of bright fluff on top of his head. Not the type of thing you'd wear if short on confidence.

He cannot keep a long ball in but his side retrieve it to force a corner which he whips in and Buffon punches clear with two hands.

Paul Pogba is in trouble here and hobbling to the touchline with a look of bemusement on his face. He is done for the night and that is a massive blow for Juventus. Looks like a hamstring injury.

They will introduce Andrea Barzagli who is a defender by trade. He has only played three times this season. Remember Juve are already without Andrea Pirlo so this is now a midfield without both energetic Pogba legs and Pirlo experience.

Marco Reus delivers but that is a poor one by his standards, nodded away by the first defender.

Home fans can draw comfort from the fact their side are having a right go here, Schmelzer left footed from range forces Leonardo Bonucci into a wild clearance - could have gone anywhere but goes clear.

Here's Reus again, fouled near the corner flag. Another good crossing position... wasted. Too much beef on it and it's an easy collect for Buffon. He's caught thousands of them in his one-million-year-long career.
