John, London: Bale's goal was rightly disallowed. Ronaldo was offside when he flicked it on. Great match so far!

There were 23 seconds between Neymar's chance to double Barca's lead and Cristiano Ronaldo equalising for Real Madrid. Devastating counter-attack.

"Fabulous first half, both teams enjoyed periods in the ascendancy and 1-1 feels about right. Karin Benzema had a fabulous first half and Barca lost their shape towards the interval."

Seamus Coleman and Morgan Schneiderlin out there next season?

Akwaowo Goodnews: Neymar really needs to step up his game, he's been awful lately.

And breathe. Wonderful half of action, goals, disallowed goals, woodwork and a few flashpoints to boot.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:47 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March 2015

Sergio Ramos goes into the book for a kick on Lionel Messi, who has been kept pretty quiet so far. If he was conducting the orchestra against Manchester City in the week, he's been relegated to second fiddle so far.

"Real looking more and more dangerous since the leveller. Ronaldo was booked for diving but the goal seems to have restored some of his cocky self-assuredness. If anything, it's Barca who want the whistle."

There's some wonderful football in these games, but the diving, play acting and histrionics are an embarrassment to football.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:45 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March 2015

Get hold of that one! Cristiano Ronaldo with a 35-yard thunderbolt, all sorts of serve and pace and Claudio Bravo makes a flying save. From the corner, Gareth Bale instinctively swings at a loose ball and he puts it wide. BIG chance!

That goal may have been chalked off for Cristiano Ronaldo being slightly offside before he helped it on to Gareth Bale. He was just, I think. Hard to see for sure.

As tight as this game now is. There's more goals in it, that's for sure.

    Gareth Bale scores! No! Offside.

Bale steers in on the slide after Cristiano Ronaldo flicked it on but the offside flag was raised. Wrongly, Bale was well onside. Real ending the half on top.

What a tackle! Gareth Bale is flying into the area at full pace, Gerard Pique comes steaming over and commits 100% to the sliding tackle, he cannot get that wrong and he doesn't, brilliant slide. A Stuart Pearce special.

You can play too much. Barca work their way out from the corner flag but one pass to many almost costs them as Toni Kroos robs them. They just about get away with it and then Cristiano Ronaldo is booked for a dive as he surges past Gerard Pique. Definite dive.

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored in seven of his last eight visits to the Nou Camp. They are machines, the pair of them.

Pepe gets tagged again, this time by Ivan Rakitic and it could blow up down there. We are one bad tackle away from a meltdown.

"What a sitter for Neymar. When the ball came across it looked like he had to score - there was even time to look to the linesman to see if he was offside.

"And then a beautiful, beautiful touch from Benzema. He doesn't score that many but his place in the team is never questioned because he does things like that. Great link-up player."
