"I'm genuinely surprised by the reaction of the home fans so far. You look around here and everybody seems to be in such a negative mood. Sometimes you have to look at things from a bigger perspective than what the score line is in this one game. Derby are playing well, I don't understand it."

Perhaps no wins in six is more to do with it Steve?

  2. Postpublished at 20:21 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

Tom Ince has looked a real danger down the right for Derby as his cross is flicked wide by Darren Bent. Considering Ince was linked with a move to Inter Milan in the summer, he should be able to do a bit of damage in the Championship mind.

  3. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:17 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

Tom Ince goes down on the edge of the penalty area under the challenge of Tommie Hoban. No contact though and miles outside the penalty area.

At the other end Troy Deeney clatters goalkeeper Lee Grant as the Derby man just smothers the ball ahead of the striker's boot.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:14 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

Things aren't going Derby's way as midfielder George Thorne limps off the field to be replaced by Jeff Hendrick in the middle of the park.

  5. CLOSE!published at 20:13 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

So close....... Will Hughes picks the ball up 20 yards from goal and unleashes a shot that flies inches wide of the post. Liverpool have been linked with the 19-year-old in recent months. Are you watching Brendan?

"When the goal went in you could see the faces on the fans around the ground just drop. 'Oh no not again.' The home supporters have just slumped back into their seats now. But Derby have played well up to this point and I think they'll show some mettle to get back into it."

  7. Postpublished at 20:11 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

Watford fans take a look at the Championship table. Quick. Yes, you are top of the pops.

  8. Postpublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

    Former Portsmouth striker Steve Claridge
BBC Radio 5 live at Pride Park

"The problem comes from Cyrus Christie losing the ball. Derby then get themselves into a real kerfuffle at the back and it's a really sweet finish from Matej Vydra on his left - that's his weaker foot too."

  9. GOALpublished at 20:08 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

An absolute horror show for Derby as Watford take the lead. Defender Cyrus Christie will not want to see that again - although you get the feeling he will have to.

First of all, he loses the ball cheaply on the right and then, after dropping into his penalty area, his clearance is charged down by Odion Ighalo. The ball falls to Matej Vydra and he makes no mistake with a clinical finish from inside the box.

  10. Postpublished at 20:07 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

Watford are in this match now. Marco Motta's floated ball from deep is towards Troy Deeney and the striker climbs highest to meet the ball with his head inside the penalty area. No problems for goalkeeper Lee Grant though as it takes a bounce before landing in his arms.

  11. Postpublished at 20:03 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

    Former Portsmouth striker Steve Claridge
BBC Radio 5 live at Pride Park

"What a great save from Heurelho Gomes at the near post, it was on target from Darren Bent and going in. Gomes was going the other way but just got a toe-end on the ball to turn it round the right-hand post.

"Derby want to keep the enthusiasm of the crowd up, to keep up the belief they can win this game. They've had a poor run of late and just need to find their momentum again for the end of the season."

  12. Postpublished at 20:03 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

A massive roar from the home fans as striker Chris Martin gets off the substitutes bench to warm up. The Rams' top scorer has been out for 10 games with a hamstring injury.

At the other end though Odion Ighalo's low skidding effort is tipped wide by Lee Grant.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:01 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

Darren Bent's volley from inside the penalty area is deflected wide for a corner and, from the resulting delivery, the striker's side foot from close range is brilliantly kept out by Heurelho Gomes's foot. Great save.

  14. Postpublished at 19:59 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

Better from Watford as they keep the ball for a minute or two. Not much goalmouth action going on though from either side.

  15. Postpublished at 19:58 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

Not this time. Troy Deeney heads well over from inside the penalty area. You don't want to give the striker too many chances though - he doesn't miss many.

  16. Postpublished at 19:56 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

Watford are just letting Derby have the ball and, so far, the hosts have been unable to hurt them. Surely if this level of domination continues much longer, the Rams will be rewarded?

Corner for Watford though. Smash and grab time?

  17. Postpublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

    Derby
  18. Postpublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

    Former Portsmouth striker Steve Claridge
BBC Radio 5 live at Pride Park

"It looks like Watford have come here primarily looking to be hard to beat; they've got 11 men in their own half when Derby have possession. The away side do have plenty of pace to threaten on the break though, with Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo."

  19. Postpublished at 19:54 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

Best break of the match so far as Derby's Johnny Russell bursts down the left but his cross from the bye line is hacked clear with Tom Ince waiting.

  20. Postpublished at 19:53 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

It comes to nothing as a hopeful ball into the penalty area is headed clear. Watford need to get their foot on the ball. They have been woeful so far.
