Game of the day in the fourth tier is without doubt Wycombe's visit to Burton, with a win for the visitors enough to take them to within a point of the pre-game leaders.

Draws in Burton's past two games have ratcheted up the anxiety around the Pirelli Stadium and allowed second-place Shrewsbury to edge to within a point of the summit ahead of their trip to Mansfield today. Micky Mellon's side are currently a goal to the good at One Call Stadium, heightening the tension ahead of the 15:00 BST meeting between first and third.

Another automatic promotion contending club, Bury, host Morecambe, while fifth-placed Southend travel to a revived Hartlepool.

Four wins in their last five games have moved the north-east club a point above the relegation places, which are now occupied by Tranmere and Cheltenham. They host Luton and Stevenage respectively.

  10. League One previewpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 6 April 2015

Second-placed Preston can cut the gap on leaders Bristol City to five points with victory over Bradford City. The home team have their own promotion hopes and start the afternoon three points off the play-offs. The Bantams are also aiming for a hat-trick. Sort of. Fans have been asked to wear flat caps in an effort to set a world record. So far, according to the Bradford Telegraph & Argus,, external 530 have been sold.

Chesterfield currently occupy the last top-six slot and they are at home against Crewe, who are looking nervously over their shoulders at the drop zone.

It's tight down there, with six points separating 16th and 23rd. Crawley, who play Oldham and Notts County, who face Coventry, both have the chance to move out of the bottom four if results go their way.

Who do you think will finish in the top two in the Championship and why?

Jamie Saunders: Bournemouth to win the title and Norwich to finish second, with Wolves to win the play-offs.

Nathan: I'm going for Watford and Norwich, with Wolves winning the play-offs. The other teams aren't experienced enough.

Wigan Athletic manager Malky Mackay took over in November after Uwe Rosler was sacked.

He was speaking to BBC Radio 5 live earlier today: "No disrespect to the players we had but I now have a group that is committed to playing for us.

"The situation before was that 12 players were out of contract in a few months time. Fifteen have now gone. This current group are going out and showing they care."

This is the one Championship game today with big consequences at both ends of the table.

Wigan's fans deserve a refund on their season tickets. They haven't seen a single home victory in the Championship since August! Ten defeats and seven draws in the 17 matches since then.

They start the day five points adrift of safety, and it could be more by 17:00 BST with 21st-placed Rotherham playing Brighton today.

The Latics will be given some hope by the fact today's opponents are also out of form.

Derby have not won any of their last seven games, losing four.

They were top, five points clear of third place when they last won. Steve McClaren's side start the day sixth, level on points with seventh and eighth.

Out-of-form Rotherham have a chance to move away from the relegation zone today. They are currently four points above Millwall, who are not playing today.

Steve Evans's Millers have lost their last four games and have not won at home since February - against Millwall.

A Rotherham win will confirm Blackpool's relegation, although it is only a formality now with the Tangerines 16 points adrift.

Brighton, nine points above the bottom three, are almost safe from relegation although a defeat today could see a nervous final five games.

Norwich have moved up from seventh to fourth since Alex Neil's arrival as manager in January. The former Hamilton boss has won 11 of his 16 games in charge, losing only twice.

The Canaries are looking for an instant return, having dropped from the Premier League last season.

Sheffield Wednesday are unbeaten in the last 10 meetings with Norwich, winning eight. Unfortunately for them their season is already over, sitting 12th in the table.

Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy - maybe the ultimate Championship manager - is attempting to win promotion to the Premier League with a third different club.

He took Sunderland up in 2005 and Wolves in 2009 - both as champions. He'd settle for second place or play-off glory now. They start the day out of the top six on goal difference.

When he took over in November 2012 they were bottom of the Championship.

Huddersfield, in 18th place, are nine points above the relegation zone so probably safe now.

This is the only one of our games today with little riding on it.

Cardiff replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and hired Russell Slade in October, and then changed the colour of their kit back to blue.

Bolton also appointed a new manager in October, Neil Lennon coming in for Dougie Freedman. Lennon then started to build a 1990s Premier League strike force, with Eidur Gudjohnsen and Emile Heskey arriving.

Despite all those subplots, the clubs are 13th and 16th respectively so already planning for next season.

Two of the more dysfunctional Championship clubs come head to head today.

Brentford are gunning for a second consecutive promotion, but the man who took them up last season - former City trader Mark Warburton - is leaving the club at the end of the season even if he takes them up into the Premier League.

The club have decided to restructure their management set-up, including the rather Moneyball-sounding "new recruitment structure using a mixture of traditional scouting and other tools including mathematical modelling".

Nottingham Forest started off the season well but a run of three wins in 23 matches saw them slip from top to mid-table - and saw Dougie Freedman replace Stuart Pearce as manager.

In ninth, 11 points below the play-offs, they are the highest-place team not in the promotion mix in the Championship.

  19. Postpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 6 April 2015

BBC Sport's Mark Mitchener at the Goldsands Stadium: "Watford's win over Middlesbrough has given Bournemouth the opportunity to return to the top of the Championship if they can complete a league double over Birmingham.

"Conditions are perfect here - hot and sunny with barely a cloud in the sky, while the pitch looks immaculate. Having hit the 50-point mark, Birmingham are destined for a mid-table finish, but high on their agenda will be revenge for their 8-0 demolition by a rampant Cherries side over the managerless Blues in October."

    Eddie HoweImage source, PA

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is looking for his third promotion with the club - and the most sensational.

The Cherries were seven points adrift of League Two safety when he took over as caretaker boss midway through 2008-09. After a great escape, he led them up to League One before leaving for a relatively short spell at Burnley.

He returned in 2012, taking them up to the Championship, where they are now challenging for promotion.

They are unbeaten in their last seven games, winning four.

And their last meeting with today's opponents Birmingham, who are 15th? An 8-0 win at St Andrew's in October.
