Newcastle United would take Liverpool's recent travails in a heartbeat though.

The Magpies have lost four Premier League matches in a row, just been beaten by local rivals Sunderland and have only collected nine points in 2015.

They are nine points clear of the bottom three but Newcastle fans won't be counting their chickens just yet.

Liverpool's FA Cup quarter-final win over Blackburn Rovers last week means Steven Gerrard could still earn a fairytale finish - but it won't be by winning that elusive title.

A glance at the top six shows the size of the task Liverpool have to even finish in the Champions League qualifying spots - currently seven points away from that.

But that is just what he has done, telling the Sunday Times magazine: "My ambition is to have my own song from the Kop. Last season I loved the song for Luis Suarez — Gerrard and Coutinho have good ones too."

Raheem Sterling has been a much-talked about young man in recent weeks hasn't he? Well I'm afraid here comes some more chat about the England man.

The 20-year-old will face the Kop for the first time since telling the BBC he has turned down a £100,000 a week contract.

The forward is sitting tight until holding talks about his future in the summer - but what sort of reaction will he get?
