Charlie Adam scored for Stoke from about 65 yards out. Well inside his own half. What are your favourite goals from distance?

David Jacobs, London: My favourite long-range goal was one I scored in the school playground from inside our half in a five-a-side final. We went on to win 2-1. To this day I don't know if it passed over or under the bar, but the ref gave it.

Rob, Newbury: Long distance goals? Pat Jennings against Man United, 1967.

Chelsea passing around patiently again. No need to panic for the Blues, they have about 40 minutes left to play and surely a few more chances will fall their way. Will they take them though?

Charlie Adam's equaliser was only the seventh goal conceded in the league at home by Chelsea this season. It had to take something special.

  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 18:36 British Summer Time 4 April 2015

Here we go again. Eden Hazard cuts inside on his right foot and fires a shot towards the top corner that is parried over by Asmir Begovic.

"Charlie Adam's goal (see 44 mins) is one of the most special goals we are likely to see. Charlie was 10 yards in his own half, and still beat one of the best goalkeepers in the world, at the ground of the champions elect. It's an unbelievable goal.

"Chelsea look like they've gone for it with Diego Costa coming on, but that goal might inject the confidence Stoke need."

    How's this for a stat?

Eden Hazard has scored all nine Premier League penalties he has taken; no player has taken more and never missed one.

You get the feeling Hazard won't be getting a lot of the headlines though. Unless he scores from 66 yards of course.

  7. KICK-OFFpublished at 18:33 British Summer Time 4 April 2015

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has obviously seen enough as he introduces top scorer Diego Costa to the attack at the break in place of midfielder Oscar. Game on.

The teams are back out and that looks like a bit of a strut from Charlie Adam. I'm not surprised. Enjoy the moment - you will never do that again.

  9. Dominant Bluespublished at 18:30 British Summer Time 4 April 2015

    Stats

Chelsea were absolutely dominant in that opening half, with 62% of possession and 12 shots to Stoke's three, but goalkeeper Asmir Begovic was not particularly tested. The Blues need to be far more clinical.

Paul Geary: Charlie Adam can't be bothered running anymore, scores for a rest.

Chris Mitchell: Stunning hit from Adam. An absolute worldy. QPR's Matt Phillips the only person who didn't jump up the minute it hit the net!!

Haider Munir: What a day for amazing goals. Ozil, Zamora, Sanchez, Rooney and the best of the bunch, Charlie Adam.

Back to the importance of that equaliser with regards the title race though. If things stay as they are, Arsenal will only be five points off Chelsea, having played a game more. Things getting a little tense at the top?

That isn't the first time Stoke City fans have seen a goal from that distance. Wigan Maynor Figueroa scored against Stoke from inside his own half in 2009, while goalkeeper Asmir Begovic scored a wind-assisted one in 2013 against Southampton.

"As soon as Charlie Adam hit it I thought it was in - he's got that in the locker, he can hit the ball as hard as he wants. I'm trying hard to think of a better goal I've seen live and I really don't think I have. Stoke are level at half-time but they don't deserve to be if I'm honest."

Sorry to go on about Stoke's equaliser but you won't see many better.

Stamford Bridge's pitch is 110 yards long and Charlie Adam was probably 10 yards inside his own half. So that is a 65-yard strike. Sensational.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:19 British Summer Time 4 April 2015

Chelsea though are looking for the lead again as they force a corner in injury time. Asmir Begovic collects and the whistle goes. Stoke will be absolutely delighted with that, Chelsea stunned.

Stamford Bridge has been stunned into silence. You don't often see Thibaut Courtois beaten by a shot from 10 yards inside the opposition's half. In fact you don't ever see that - until now. Charlie Adam will have something to tell his grandkids...

"Charlie Adam's tried that nine or 10 times before but it has come off today. He's had an absolute stinker in this first half but that will go down as one of the best goals in Premier League history. I wont see many better in my lifetime. Absolutely unbelievable."

  18. GOALpublished at 18:14 British Summer Time 4 April 2015

Wow. Just wow. Stoke's Charlie Adam takes a leaf out of David Beckham's book as he launches a shot from way inside his own half, over goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and into the back of the net. No fluke about that, he saw the keeper off his line and went for the lob. Stunning.

Hashim: Those Hazard penalties are a marvelous work of art, much like everything else he does.

Ankur Goel: What an amazing player Eden Hazard is!! He is certainly capable of reaching Messi & Ronaldo level.

Cesc Fabregas takes a whack in the face from Charlie Adam's boot. Bloodied, the Spaniard is taken off - only temporarily though. He is back on.

Fabregas and Eden Hazard have been as smooth as silk in Chelsea's midfielder this evening. Pure poetry in motion.
