"That pure strength gives him that extra time. He plays it across the keeper and it's an unerring finish, it's a wonderful bit of play by Nacer Chadli."

Well, Spurs didn't need 20 minutes, did they? They are level again, after Nacer Chadli holds off Maya Yoshida's challenge on the right of the area and slots the ball low into the opposite corner of the net. A fine finish.

The Saints fans are the ones making all the noise again, "There's only one Ronald Koeman" has had a few airings today.

Spurs have got about 20 minutes left to find an equaliser and silence them.

"Graziano Pelle is a magnificent creature. It's a wonderful header. He's got an awful lot to do with it. Bang! He sticks it right in the far post."

  5. GOALpublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

What a header this is. A classic centre-forward finish.

Shane Long makes an instant impact, sending in a perfectly-flighted cross from the right and Graziano Pelle is in the right place to plant the ball past the helpless Hugo Lloris. Saints are back in front

A change for Saints. Shane Long is coming on to replace James Ward-Prowse. He has around half an hour to have an impact.

  7. Southampton 1-1 Tottenhampublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

This game has opened up a bit all of a sudden, and it is Tottenham's time to threaten, again via a deflected cross when Nacer Chadli's delivery hits a Saints shin and loops just wide.

From the resulting corner, Chadli tries to get on the end of the delivery but Southampton clear their lines.

  8. Southampton 1-1 Tottenhampublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

This is certainly Southampton's favourite time to strike - they would be second in the table behind Chelsea if only second halves counted in the Premier League this season.

  9. Southampton 1-1 Tottenhampublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

Saints go closer this time, when Ryan Bertrands cross nicks off Eric Dier and is about to flash under the crossbar until Hugo Lloris gets across to scoop it to safety.

  10. Southampton 1-1 Tottenhampublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

Oh dear. Poor Steven Davis is still shooting, and still off target for Southampton. After a neat build-up, Graziano Pelle backheels it into his path inside the box - Davis goes for the top corner but finds the stand behind the goal instead.

  11. Southampton 1-1 Tottenhampublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

BBC Sport's Nabil Hassan at St Mary's: "A big 45 minutes coming up for both these sides in the battle to secure European football next season. A decisive goal would see Saints fall four points behind Spurs with just four games remaining. Sadio Mane continues to worry the Spurs defence. He looks to be Saints biggest threat here."

  12. Southampton 1-1 Tottenhampublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

It's fair to say Steven Davis is not wearing his shooting boots today. For the second time in the game the ball falls nicely for him on the edge of the box but, for the second time in the game, he can only send a scuffed shot trundling well wide. That was a real waste - no wonder the Saints midfielder hasn't scored for 14 months.

  13. Southampton 1-1 Tottenhampublished at 13:52 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

Spurs are seeing more of the ball but, as for most of the first half, they are not doing much with it. Ben Davies goes to ground after darting into the area but that was never a penalty in a million years.

You can criticise Christian Eriksen's passing in that first half - his accuracy of 68% was the lowest of any Spurs player - but you cannot fault his workrate.

The Dane covered 6.5km in the first 45 minutes - only Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin (6.57km) did more running.

Jacob in Barnet: Abysmal defending by Tottenham, thank god for Kane because Tottenham's defence is like an average championship team!

Paul F in London: Fairly clear from the play, and atmosphere, that both sides have little interest in qualifying for the Europa. And understandably so.

Dan in Brentwood: I'm not surprised by Eriksen's passing stats, his passing in general since January has been sloppy and far from characteristic.

On Tottenham's equaliser: "Eric Dier's put the ball in and Harry Kane's flicked it on - it's like a pebble skipping across the water. Erik Lamela deserved the goal because he's willing to make the run into the box. But I'm not sure he knows a lot about that finish."
