Thank goodness that game opened up a bit but a goalless draw is not ideal for Liverpool. Those Champions League hopes are slipping away.

Jamie in Birkenhead: Liverpool fans stick with Rogers! He's a developing manager but the team will develop with him.

Sam Gee YNWA: So easy for so so called LFC fans to lay into BR when things aren't going well...it's a four game dip and we went eleven unbeaten prior to this!!! Cmon lets not stick the knife in we've never had much joy at West Brom!!! This is football

Paul Mackie in Ormskirk: Rodgers can have another season for me, but it's critical he sells and buys wisely in the summer.

Callum McManaman runs at tired legs at the near post, leaves Martin Skrtel standing and shoots low but strikes the legs of Simon Mignolet. A late Baggies charge?

Can West Brom hold back this wave of pressure? They have all but Brown Ideye back in their own half whenever Liverpool have the ball.

It looks like Steven Gerrard has taken a nasty knock to his knee. He is testing it out, stamping his foot in the turf before motioning to the sidelines that he is good to continue.

Scott Wilson: WBA fans, are you happy with being sat in the 18-yard box with no intent on playing? You pay money to watch that!

Ewan from Bristol: As a Liverpool supporter, I've been a big fan of Rodgers in recent years, and I don't want to be saying it, but it is perhaps time for him to go? Seem to have very few attacking ideas in these smaller games, always seem to be relying on some magic from Coutinho or Sterling to get the win.

Surely, surely this is made for a Steven Gerrard thunderbolt? Into his final few games for Liverpool and on his 500th appearance, it is made for a headline-making winner.

The midfielder has the chance to do just that when he shoots with typical venom through a crowd of players, but Boaz Myhill is wise to the shot and gets down to smother the ball.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

Jordon Ibe and Mario Balotelli are the two to make way as Adam Lallana and Fabio Borino come on for Liverpool.

Fabio Borini and Adam Lallana are receiving some instructions from Brendan Rodgers's assistant. A double change on the cards?

Just under 20 minutes remaining and still no goals, but both sides have at least gone close. I wouldn't want to call which way this will go, with West Brom becoming a bit more adventurous now.

Jane in Preston: Brendan Rodgers puts me in mind of those women who obsess about shoes, but in his case it's midfielders. Liverpool fiddle about like the Barca team a couple of years ago, unfortunately without the talent.

Graham D Red forever: Liverpool are so easy to read. No penetration and little different ways!

OFF THE LINE. I didn't think I would be saying this at half-time but I think there are goals in this, you know.

James Morrison is in the area for West Brom and nods the ball towards the far post. It looks to be creeping in but Dejan Lovren hacks the ball clear before it crosses the line.

  18. Postpublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

West Brom make a change as Callum McManaman replaces Victor Anichebe with just under 30 minutes left.

  19. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

Jordon Ibe is so close to scoring his first goal for Liverpool as he plays a beautiful one-two with Mario Balotelli, drives towards the area and smashes a shot against the top of the bar. Cracking effort!

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

This has not been a scrappy game, highlighted by the fact that we have our first yellow card of the game on the hour as Craig Dawson is booked for a foul on Jordon Ibe.
