    Juventus players celebrate

So Juventus's treble dreams are still alive. They are on the verge of wrapping up the Serie A title, play Lazio in the Coppa Italia final and are now in the Champions League semi-finals.

They will find out their last-four opponents on Friday - you can follow the draw live on the BBC Sport website.

And with that information, I bid you goodnight.

  2. Post update

Who are we making favourites for this tournament? I reckon Barcelona ahead of Bayern Munich, with holders Real Madrid third. I can't see Juventus winning it.

  4. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

If you want evidence of how dull that game was, no game in this season's Champions League has seen fewer shots on target (two).

Ian Halliwell: So 3 of last year's semi finalists in the semis again. How dull.

Sahil Oberoi: Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid & Juventus. What a line up for the semis!

The draw for the semi-finals will be on Friday.

  6. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

    Stats

Dominated possession but lacked threat in front of goal and that's why Monaco are out.

  7. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

    Dimitar Berbatov

The hosts dominated possession but rarely threatened keeper Gianluigi Buffon and they head out without any of their players scoring more than one goal in this season's tournament.

  8. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Now that's over, I can admit that was a pretty terrible game. As far as Champions League quarter-finals in the balance go, that was as bad as they get.

  9. FULL-TIME

    Dimitar Berbatov looks dejected

Juventus reach the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in 12 years.

Monaco have a throw-in in their own defence. Not even Rory Delap could get it down the other end...

  11. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Monaco reach the halfway line but Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio literally hoofs it back to the hosts' keeper.

Free-kick to Juventus now in the corner. A masterclass in time management at the end of a game.

  13. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Juventus have a corner now. Monaco go forward in numbers and Carlos Tevez kicks the ball off a defender to buy them time.

  14. INJURY TIME

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

    Four to go.

  15. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo almost seals it but his free-kick hits the post.

The Turin side make a change now, Simone Padoin on for Patrice Evra.

  16. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Ball comes forward to Monaco striker Dimitar Berbatov but the Bulgarian pulls down Giorgio Chiellini and concedes a free-kick. Stupid.

Juventus have a free-kick now at the other end of the pitch now. They're taking their time.

  17. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Monaco make their final change, Brazilian forward Matheus Carvalho on for Yannick Ferreira Carrasco.

  18. Post update

    George Weah

Monaco have six minutes to save their season. They could do with this man up front - George Weah, presumably their best ever striker?

Dimitar Berbatov and Valere Germain could be here all day without scoring.

  21. Scottish football latest

Fear not, there have been some goals tonight. Celtic lead Dundee 2-0 in the Scottish Premiership.

  22. TEN TO GO

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Time running out for Monaco. Juventus don't seem fussed about scoring - they appear to have confidence that Monaco won't send this to extra time.

  23. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Atletico Madrid

No goal over in Madrid but there's been a red card. Atletico's Arda Turan is shown a second yellow after going in high to charge down Sergio Ramos's clearance.

That one is heading to extra time as things stand. Live text here.

  24. SUBSTITUTIONS

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Monaco make a change up front - Valere Germain comes on for Anthony Martial.

Moments later Monaco's Geoffrey Kondogbia is booked for fouling Andrea Pirlo and then throwing the ball down angrily.

And now Juve make a midfield change, Arturo Vidal is off for Roberto Pereyra.

  25. Post update

BBC World Service's John Bennett: "Yes we had loads of goals last night but I think tonight is more enthralling... (Maybe that says more about me than the games?)"

Can't agree with you there, John. Give me goals - even if they come from defensive slips.

  26. Post update

    Massimiliano Allegri directs

Juventus make a change up front and it's not the first time they've made this switch this season. Fernando Llorente comes on for fellow Spanish striker Alvaro Morata, who hasn't had a great night.

  29. Post update

    Dimitar Berbatov

BBC World Service's John Bennett: "Berbatov has really made a difference since coming on. Monaco piling on the pressure. The ball boys are well trained at Stade Louis II. Little Usain Bolts. Ball being thrown back in as soon as it goes out."

  32. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Monaco come forward again but Yannick Ferreira Carrasco's ball to Dimitar Berbatov is cleared for a corner, which comes to nothing.

A few moments earlier Juventus had a chance but Alvaro Morata failed to make the most of his space and the option of playing in Carlos Tevez and Monaco defender Aymen Abdennour managed to clear.

  33. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

    Stats

Here's the players' average position in the game so far. You can see seven of Monaco's players have played in Juventus's half more often that their own. And only Alvaro Morata and Carlos Tevez has ventured past halfway all too often for the visitors.

  34. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

A reminder if Monaco score one goal, it would go to extra time.

And as I write that Dimitar Berbatov has a chance but keeper Gianluigi Buffon is out to smother it.

  35. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Joao Moutinho tries to take a quick throw-in for Monaco but Andrea Pirlo, who is standing just off the pitch, barges him over from behind. The Italian gets away with it.

  36. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Plenty of confusion in the box and Monaco have a chance. Joao Moutinho crosses in to Aymen Abdennour, but Patrice Evra manages to clear the ball.

At the other end, Alvaro Morata has a shot on target... but he's offside. Didn't matter anyway as it was straight at Danijel Suasic.

  37. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Monaco start the second half like they played in the first, on the attack. Yannick Ferreira Carrasco has a chance to get a shot in the box but tries to cut in onto old lefty but slips and Giorgio Chiellini clears.

More possession, more shots, more corners but Monaco going out as things stand.

  44. HALF-TIME

    Real Madrid 0-0 Atletico Madrid

It's half-time in tonight's other game, Atletico Madrid's defence holding firm against a Real Madrid side lacking Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.

  45. HALF-TIME

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Monaco are the better side in the first half but rarely look like scoring. Juventus are 45 minutes away from their first semi-final since 2003.

  46. Football League latest

Just over half an hour played in the Championship fixture between Reading and Birmingham. Very little at stake. No goals.

  47. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Monaco have dominated the first half but Juventus almost lead right before the break, Carlos Tevez hits a shot with venom from 20 yards that curls just wide.

  48. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

It's another misplaced pass by Andrea Pirlo and he's wasted a good attack there for Juventus. They break but their players seem afraid to take a shot (they've only had one so far). Pirlo tries to clip one over the top but nobody has made the run.

  49. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

    Andrea Pirlo

Midfielder Andrea Pirlo has attempted more passes than any other Juventus player so far; completing less than two thirds of his 32 attempts.

  50. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Monaco fans want a penalty here - Geoffrey Kondogbia runs into the box and he is sandwiched by Giorgio Chiellini and Arturo Vidal. It's not a penalty, but only by fractions.

The home fans' sense of injustice is presumably fuelled by the fact Juventus had a penalty in the first leg for a tackle that appeared to be outside the box. That's all that separates the sides in the first 128 minutes of this tie.

  51. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Giorgio Chiellini fouls Joao Moutinho - he was booked in the 48th second. The Juventus defender needs to be careful here.

I'm slightly surprised to see you can get Monaco at 7-1 to qualify. They've been the better team so far and only need one goal to force extra time.

Not that I condone gambling of course.

  54. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Monaco continue to press and Joao Moutinho fires in a shot from outside the box, Andrea Barzagli dived to block it but the referee decides the Juventus defender didn't get a touch and gives a goal-kick.

  55. Post update

    Monaco 0-0 Juventus (Agg: 0-1)

Juventus's Alvaro Morata wants a free-kick after he goes down under pressure from Monaco defender Andrea Raggi at the edge of the box. Referee William Collum isn't having any of it - might have been potential for a yellow card for diving there.

Monaco's Geoffrey Kondogbia is obviously reading this live text while playing as he loses Andrea Pirlo in midfield before shooting from 25 yards but it's straight at Gianluigi Buffon.

To be fair, maybe he had the idea himself without reading this live text. I guess we'll never know.

  60. Post update

Juventus are cruising in Serie A, 15 points clear of second-place Lazio with seven games remaining. The treble chasers face the capital side in the Coppa Italia final.

Monaco's season has been somewhat different. Since downscaling in the summer - including losing James Rodriguez and Radamel Falcao - they sit third in Ligue 1, six points off top with five games left. They looked set for a mid-table finish before a revival in the second half of the season.

    Gianluigi Buffon

Gianluigi Buffon is one of the best goalkeepers of our generation, maybe of all time. But he's never won the biggest club tournament of them all. At 37, he thinks he still has time.

"This game is important for me, my team-mates and the club as a whole," he said.

"Reaching the semi-finals would show that Juventus are coming on leaps and bounds and also display that we're 'back' on the European stage. This is perhaps the most significant aspect, which heightens the responsibility and pride felt at being here.

"Winning the tournament is an achievement that I've personally missed out on and one that Juve have gone too long without. I have no idea when it will happen, but I hope it will be as soon as possible."

So how have tonight's rivals done in the Champions League this season? Well Monaco topped their group, despite scoring only four goals - conceding once. They then dumped Arsenal out in the last 16 on away goals after a 3-3 aggregate draw.

None of their players have scored more than one goal in this season's tournament.

Juventus finished second to Atletico Madrid in their group and then thrashed Borussia Dortmund 5-1 on aggregate. Carlos Tevez is their top scorer with six in the 2014-15 Champions League so far.

  86. TEAM NEWS

    Monaco v Juventus (19:45 BST) (Agg: 0-1)

Monaco make two changes from the first leg as Bernardo Silva and Jeremy Toulalan come in for Ricardo Carvalho and Nabil Dirar. Striker Dimitar Berbatov remains benched.

One change for Juventus - defender Andrea Barzagli replaces midfielder Roberto Pereyra, so perhaps a tactical reshuffle. Juve are boosted by Arturo Vidal, the only goalscorer in the first leg, as he overcomes the flu.

Monaco: Subasic, Fabinho, Raggi, Abdennour, Kurzawa, Kondogbia, Toulalan, Silva, Moutinho, Carrasco, Martial. Subs: Stekelenburg, Wallace, Elderson, Dirar, M Carvalho, Berbatov, Germain.

Juventus: Buffon, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini, Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pirlo, Marchisio, Evra, Tevez, Morata. Subs: Storari, Ogbonna, Padoin, Pereyra, Sturaro, Llorente, Matri.

Both these sides have European Cup pedigree; Juventus have been to seven finals - winning in 1985 and 1996 - while Monaco reached the final once.

But the two clubs have had to wait a long time to reach the last four of the tournament again.

It is 2004 since Monaco reached the semi-finals, the season they lost the final to Jose Mourinho's Porto.

More surprising is Juventus's wait for semi-finals - a year longer, losing to AC Milan in the 2003 final.

These clubs met in the 1997-98 last four, with Juve winning 6-4 on aggregate. Alessandro Del Piero scored four of Juve's goals, with Thierry Henry netting for Monaco - a year before he left for Turin.
