Mark Dunlop: Boaz Myhill 1. Squillions of £s 0. Embarrassed to be a United fan today. Last two performances disgraceful.

Jamie Matthews: What has happened to the team that dismantled Man City, not even a month ago? Rubbish from United, credit to West Brom.

Alex Haworth: Manchester United could play until the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight starts, they still wouldn't score. So predictable.

Tune in to a 5 live boxing special from 0430 BST on Sunday morning for coverage of the big fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

West Brom were certainly on the ropes for most of that match at Old Trafford, but may have landed a knockout blow to Manchester United's hopes of finishing in the top three.

John, Norton: Louis van Gaal indicated recently that the poor start to the season had cost Man Utd the title - champions don't generally have a run in of losing every match...

Matt, Dorset: Why can't South Americans play for United? Forlan, Veron, Di Maria and Falcao - amazing everywhere else, shocking at Utd!

"West Brom have won back-to-back victories at Old Trafford for, get this, the first time since 1959. Louis van Gaal's team aren't sitting comfortably in that top four just yet."

Incredible result. Tony Pulis rises to applaud the travelling fans, but how they should be applauding their club's boss. An absolute smash-and-grab from Albion, who scored in fortunate fashion with Chris Brunt's free-kick bouncing off an unaware Jonas Olsson.

But West Brom defended magnificently, with Boaz Myhill making two excellent stops late on, as well as a stunning save from Robin van Persie's penalty. How costly will that penalty miss be for United?

Mata with the cross. Chris Baird with an excellent clearing header.

Falcao shoots, blocked. It is attack versus defence. Can United find an equaliser?

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 19:19 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Angel Di Maria is unlucky. Another piece of magic from Boaz Myhill who athletically tips over Di Maria's angled drive.

  9. INJURY TIMEpublished at 19:18 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Four minutes for West Brom to hang on.

  10. GREAT SAVE!published at 19:17 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Robin van Persie denied. It is great technique from the Dutchman who takes a touch to set himself and then unleashes a great effort on the left foot from 25 yards out. The ball is creeping inside the post but Myhill gets down well to push it away.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 19:16 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Tony Pulis is never the calmest of managers. And there he is on the touchline bouncing up and down. Can he mastermind a memorable victory? Let's give credit to Pulis. His side have been disciplined, organised and have worked so hard to keep United out.

Andre Wisdom comes on for Craig Gardner to shut up shop. Well, even further.

Abtahi, London: Well this could be three defeats in a row. And at this rate Liverpool with be back in contention for a top-four finish.

Chris Bailey: Well Radamel, now might just be the time to earn that £265,000 a week you get...

Di Maria looks woefully short of confidence. He is found on the left wing, with time to send in a delivery. But all he can do is send it straight into Boaz Myhill's hands. You expect more for just south of £60m. In fact, you would expect more if it was £1m.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 19:12 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

West Brom are throwing themselves in front of the ball to earn this. And boy are they working hard. Chris Baird charges down a Wayne Rooney volley on the edge of the penalty area.

It is all out attack for United as Radamel Falcao comes on for Paddy McNair. That's Rooney, Van Persie, Di Maria, Falcao, Mata, Fellaini and Young all on the pitch at the same time. Attack, attack, attack.

So there may be hope for Liverpool fans after all. A banner calling for Brendan Rodgers to be sacked was flown over Anfield today. But they could still be in the top four.

  16. Postpublished at 19:06 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

United have 13 minutes left to save themselves. West Brom have made a change with Chris Baird coming on for Youssouf Mulumbu. It would be a great three points for West Brom if they can hold on.

Paul Collins: Wasn't even a penalty, was outside area. Justice done.

  18. WHAT A MISSpublished at 19:03 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

You have to hit the target from there. A corner from the right wing finds an unmarked Paddy McNair at the back post, but, six yards out, he can only head wide of the goal. He has his head in his hands. And rightly so. He should have done better.

Robin van Persie strikes it low to the goalkeeper's left but Boaz Myhill dives to push the spot-kick away.
