Montpellier have the bit between their teeth now, their players looking reenergised by that fluky goal. Can they grab an equaliser before the break? Heading into injury-time....

The volume has turned up a notch inside the Stade de la Mosson - the home fans have woken up. Remember PSG only need a point to win their third straight Ligue 1 title. Boss Laurent Blanc does not look too concerned yet.

Montpellier haven't got the guile to find an opening - but they have got the luck! Anthony Mounier swings in a left-footed cross from the right flank and the ball flies over the head of PSG keeper Salvatore Sirigu into the net. I'm not having that he meant that. No chance.

Montpellier have a bit of respite as they stroke the ball around inside the PSG half. But they are not moving it quick enough - nor do they have the guile - to unlock the away defence.

Every PSG player is after a slice of the scoring pie tonight. Midfielder Adrien Rabiot takes a pot shot from distance but does not call Montpellier keeper Jonathan Ligani into action. The champions-elect might as well put out a groundsheet and pitch up a tent - they are camped in the home half now.

Edinson Cavani. Discuss? For my money he is, alongside Robert Lewandowski, one of the most overrated strikers in Europe. There, I've said it.

And, right on cue, the Uruguayan scuffs another good opportunity into the hands of Montpellier keeper Jonathan Ligali.

A contender for Serie A's miss of the season by Pedro Obiang on the stroke of half-time. A brilliant run down the right flank from Lorenzo De Silvestri and he cuts it back for Obiang who, with the goal at his mercy, blazes over the crossbar. Obiang puts his head in his hands and the look on his face is of complete disbelief. The quality of the finishing is going to have to improve in the second half.

Of course, PSG are on a seven-match winning streak so clearly have plenty of confidence pumping through their veins. Yohan Cabaye - a man known for liking the spectacular - tries his luck from distance but the ball flies harmlessly over the Montpellier crossbar.

Few would have bet against PSG nicking the point that they needed tonight, but perhaps they didn't see the swaggering performance which is coming with it. The visitors are brimming with confidence....

What's that noise that I can hear inside the Stade de la Mosson? Oh, it is the sound of champagne corks popping in the away dressing room. PSG are closing on the Ligue 1 title as Ezequiel Lavezzi lashes in a crisp finish from Serge Aurier's low right-wing cross. This could be a rugby score....

Free-kick in a promising position on the right wing for Montpellier. The big lads from the back saunter forward into the PSG box, with the visitors suspiciously eyeing up the man who they are down to mark. But a Montpellier head cannot get near the ball as PSG clear.

Little response so far from the home side, before we have a brief break in play as Montpellier midfielder Jamel Saihi goes down to a heap. A quick rub of the physio's magic sponge does the trick and he is back on his feet.

Italian Serie A

Lazio hit Sampdoria on the counter attack and almost grab the lead. Felipe Anderson's dangerous low cross causes panic inside the home side's box but veteran six-yard box poacher Miroslav Klose cannot get the decisive touch after the ball deflects off defender Lorenzo De Silvestri and Sampdoria goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano smoothers the ball. Almost immediately at the other end Sampdoria go close when Roberto Soriano's angled show flashes past the post.

Let's recap for those at the back. PSG need just a point tonight to claim their third successive Ligue 1 title remember - they are well on their way to nabbing all three.

Breakthrough! PSG join the Ligue 1 goalscoring party - and move a massive step closer to a title shindig tonight. France midfielder Blaise Matuidi is the man who picks a hole in the Montpellier defence, taking a neat touch before firing into the bottom corner.

Sampdoria striker Samuel Eto'o has won all three of his games against Lazio in Serie A, scoring two goals and approaching the half-hour mark and he sees a daisy cutter from the edge of the box gathered by Lazio goalkeeper Etrit Berish. Still goalless in Genoa.

Montpellier enjoy plenty of possession inside the PSG half, but can't find a route through the away defence at the moment.

While they toil for a breakthrough, the goals are flying in around Ligue 1. Most importantly, second-placed Lyon are back on level terms against Bordeaux. Nabil Fekir's equaliser has made it 1-1 at Stade de Gerland.
