The Faroe Islands look like they will complete the double over 2004 European champions Greece. Teenager Brandur Olsen has made it 2-0 as the Nordic minnows look set to move up to fourth in Northern Ireland's group - above Finland.

While we're chatting about those rocky islands, have a read of our feature about the foreign players who play their club football in the Faroes.

The Green and White Army is in full cry. They are trying to rally their side. Romania have started running down the clock. Jonny Evans is clearly in discomfort. A change coming up?

Germany are now 6-0 up against Gibraltar. Karim Bellarabi made it four before Andre Schurrle got his second and third of the night. They were frustrated in the first half but are totally dominant now.

Twenty minutes remaining. Northern Ireland have lost their way. Their next match is the Faroe Islands away so a draw against the group leaders will not be a disaster.

Slip by Gareth McAuley and Gabriel Torje is storming towards the goal. Surely this is the breakthrough? Jonny Evans, using all his experience, keeps a cool head and manages to deflect the midfielder's shot just wide. The hosts breathe a huge sight of relief.

Maxim tumbles for RomaniaImage source, Reuters

Shocking! Alexandru Maxim tries to con the referee into a penalty after going down theatrically inside the area but the Spanish official is having none of it. Jonny Evans and Oliver Norwood are furious. They want the Romanian booked but he escapes with a lecture.

How costly will that prove? A delicious cross is played into the Romania box and up goes Kyle Lafferty. It's a great chance for Northern Ireland's danger man, six yards out, but he gets his angles all wrong and heads horribly over. Groans from the home crowd.

The late evening sun is playing havoc. Passes are going astray. Romania are being restricted to long range efforts but they're finding the going tough as the wind whips up.

Any hope that Gibraltar had against Germany is surely gone now as Mesut Ozil squares for Max Kruse to tap home into an empty net early in the second half. That's 2-0. And you fancy there'll be a few more goals now...

    And yep, there's Ilkay Gundogan - 3-0.

"More adventure being shown. The Northern Ireland players are getting forward, putting pressure on the Romanian defence and that could lead to goals. The Romanian midfielders are nowhere near tight enough."

Another super strike by Stuart Dallas whistles narrowly wide. The 24-year-old Brentford player is a relative newcomer to the international stage but he looks decent. Northern Ireland have the momentum.

Phenomenal performance from Jordan Perez in the first half of Gibraltar v Germany to keep the minnows in the game.

The 28-year-old domestic-based goalkeeper saved a penalty from Bastian Schweinsteiger and pulled off some brilliant saves towards the end of the first half.

Andre Schurrle has scored the only goal in the Algarve so far.

Faroe Islands lead Greece 1-0 at the break, as do Denmark against Serbia. The Danes could have doubled their lead but Daniel Agger missed a penalty.
