  1. "A set piece might win it"published at 20:35 British Summer Time 13 June 2015

"You have to be very cautious against teams at this level. The Romanians are very talented and technical players who can catch you on the counter.

"Northern Ireland have been cautious all qualifying and that is unlikely to change unless they lose a goal. A set piece might be the difference today. They are in the game and playing against a quality team."

  2. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:31 British Summer Time 13 June 2015

This game has come alive in the closing stages of the half. Chances at both ends but it's tight and tense between Group F's top two teams.

    So close!

Northern Ireland are hammering on the door. A corner is whipped into the Romania area and Jonny Evans directs a powerful header towards a net.

It's heading for the top corner before Ciprian Tatarusanu sticks out a hand to deflect it over the bar.

One minute of added time at the end of the first half.

Great response from Northern Ireland. No surprise their most dangerous threat is Kyle Lafferty, the former Burnley striker seeing another attempt deflected behind for a corner.

But what's this? The referee awards a goal kick. He must be the only person inside Windsor Park who didn't see that come off a yellow shirt.

Moments later Stuart Dallas hammers the ball against the woodwork but it wouldn't have counted as the referee spotted a handball.

"Gabriel Torje has been Romania's biggest threat. He runs the ball and commits defenders. Torje has shown really good adventure so far."

A spell of Romania pressure in the closing stages of the half. The Group F leaders are playing some decent one touch stuff.

Faroe Islands stunned Greece with a 1-0 win when they played in November... and they're doing it again!

Hallur Hansson, once of Aberdeen, has put them ahead. If it stays like that it would take them above Finland into fourth spot in Northern Ireland's group.

An awful long way to go in this one but already there is a feeling one goal might settle this. There will be one heck of a party in Belfast later if it goes in the opposition net.

Great chance for Steaua Bucharest midfielder Alexandru Chipciu as the home defence is caught napping. But it's a tame finish and Michael McGovern, who has been solid on his competitive debut, gathers comfortably.

The dream is over in the Algarve. Gibraltar held on for 27 minutes but Andre Schurrle has given world champions Germany the lead after a defensive error.

Moments later Bristol Rovers' Jake Gosling almost equalises but his effort from close range is straight at Roman Weidenfeller.

Shocking challenge by Mihai Pintilii on Conor McLaughlin. The Romania midfielder actually comes off worse but that does not stop the referee from showing him a yellow card when he eventually climbs to his feet. This game has been peppered with some meaty challenges from both sets of players.

"When a ball just drifted into the back of the Romanian defence, one player really runs it down and puts pressure on the opposition. The determination is there to be seen. That is why they have been so effective as a team."

Few chances so far. But Northern Ireland's commitment cannot be faulted.

Terrific atmosphere. Northern Ireland fans are putting the new stand at Windsor Park to the ultimate test. Hundreds of green shirts are doing a West Brom-style 'Boing Boing' while urging their team forward.

In Group I, Denmark lead Serbia 1-0 through Yussuf Poulsen. Denmark are in second, five points behind Portugal, while Serbia only have one point after a three-point deduction for trouble earlier in the campaign.

"Gareth McAuley made a lunging tackle at Gabriel Torje in the box who stayed on his feet. That was a very dangerous tackle to commit. He was fortunate to get away with that one."

Anxious scenes in the home dug out as Gabriel Torje is allowed to run unchallenged into the Northern Ireland penalty area. But the midfielder takes one too many touches and is forced to pass to a team-mate who blazes horribly over.

Scenes in the Algarve, temporary home of Gibraltar. The minnows, who have let in 27 goals in five qualifiers so far, concede a penalty to world champions Germany.

Bastian Schweinsteiger steps up but keeper Jordan Perez, who had a trial with Wycombe earlier this year, guesses right to keep it out.
