  1. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Argentina 2-1 Paraguay

    Argentina are rattled.

They've just held a team talk in the tunnel before emerging for the start of the second half.

Can Paraguay come back from 2-0 behind for the second time in this tournament against the number three team in the world.

    We're back under way.

Before the match Roque Santa Cruz told us that Paraguay were more suited to the 'physically aggressive style of play' needed to beat Argentina, in comparison to Colombia who lost out to Messi and co in the quarter-finals. Unfortunately Santa Cruz has hobbled off the pitch, things got a little too physical. And talking of former Premier League players, we're looking forward to chatting with Nobby Solano tomorrow for our World Football radio programme. A genuinely nice guy, which led us to the theory that a spell in the North-East of England is good for you...no matter where in the world you come from.

That Paraguay goal was extremely popular among the Chile fans inside the stadium. Not just because it was a slap in the face for Argentina but Lucas Barrios played club football in Chile for Colo Colo and Temuco. Even before the game, and despite starting as a sub, he was given a big cheer when his name was read out by the stadium announcer. Incidently Barrios was born in Argentina.

What is is with Argentina and pressing the self-destruct button.

They were coasting 2-0 against Paraguay in the group stage but had to settle for a 2-2 draw, Lucas Barrios scoring in that game too.

They are doing Gerardo Martino's health no good whatsoever.

    Oh my word.

What a finish by Lucas Barrios. He's only on the pitch because of Roque Santa Cruz's injury and he's fired Paraguay right back into this with an instinctive effort from the edge of the area.

    Argentina 2-0 Paraguay

Both Argentina and Paraguay required penalties to get through the quarter-finals.

It's going to need something special from Paraguay if this game is to be decided by a shootout.

Sean Mckenzie, external : Argentina v Chile final could be a classic.

Kyle Utterson, external  Would love to see a Argentina v Chile final - it would be an amazing spectacle and I think we will as I fancy a narrow 2-1 win for Argentina. Paraguay showed in the opening game though that they can cause havoc for Argentina.

    Argentina 2-0 Paraguay

Argentina squandered a 2-0 lead against Paraguay in their first group game but La Albiceleste are in no mood to let this one slip.

They look a threat every time they cross the half way line.

Chile versus Argentina in the final already looks a mouth-watering prospect.

Not only are Paraguay 2-0 behind but they will now have to try and find a way back into this without Roque Santa Cruz after the former Manchester City forward limps off injured.
