That is all from us for today's football, folks. We'll back for tomorrow's action. Thank you and goodnight.
Tomorrow's action
Manchester City v Chelsea
MOTD's Guy Mowbray: "Last season's corresponding fixture came too soon to be a blockbuster, and this being even earlier feels something of a waste.
"On last weekend's displays, City are favourites. Their performance at West Brom was magnificent and Vincent Kompany's goal celebrationsand post-match words outlined a point to prove to those who've written them out of title contention. Some will have already changed their minds!
"Overshadowed by 'medicgate', Chelsea were a level down from their best against Swansea. They'll have to be better to get the point Jose Mourinho would gladly take here. If they don't, he might need a doctor."

Tomorrow's action
Crystal Palace v Arsenal
MOTD's Jonathan Pearce: "Arsenal haven't lost their opening two league games since the first ever Premier League season 23 years ago. They bounced back to win the FA Cup and League Cup that season.
"Palace have pace in wide areas to hurt an Arsenal side which was below par against West Ham, although they had no fortune.
"They always seem to have their share in this game though, and if the real Arsenal turn up they should have too much for Palace. If they go there half-baked, they could lose again."
Tomorrow's action
There are two Premier League games tomorrow and they promise to be pretty damn good. First up is Crystal Palace v Arsenal at 13:30 BST, followed by Manchester City v Chelsea at 16:00. See. I told you.

QPR 1-0 Cardiff
It is half-time at Loftus Road and QPR lead 1-0 against Cardiff. They have Clint Hill's header from a corner to thank for that. Good old Clint Hill, where would the Super Hoops be if they couldn't wheel him out every other season for a Championship campaign after all their big-money signings have left post-relegation?

Premier League recap
So, to recap (so you know what you're getting on MOTD tonight), Norwich claimed their first Premier League win under Alex Neil with a 3-1 victory at Sunderland, whose fans will be worried. Very worried. Ditto their local rivals Newcastle, who were beaten 2-0 at Swansea after having a man sent off.
Tottenham chucked away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with a spirited Stoke and West Brom nullified Watford to claim a goalless draw at Vicarage Road.
Everton thumped Southampton 3-0 and Leicester made it two wins out of two to beat West Ham and go top of the table. Yep, it is the second week of the Premier League and Leicester are top. All hail the Tinkerman!

Mark Hughes to BBC Sport: “After the break we understood what we needed to do better, talked about it in the break and came out with more resolve. Our hard yards were good and we started to affect the game.
"The substitutions helped us, we just started to retain the ball in the final third and started to create chances. If the game had gone a little bit longer who knows we might have been greedy and claimed two more points.
" Stephen Ireland’s a very good player. I know the quality that he has. Since he’s come to Stoke he probably hasn’t had the opportunity he think he deserves but he knows the respect I have for him. We’re strong this year, we’ll be ok.
"We just need to manage games better than we did in the first half and if we do that we’ll do well. The spirit has been great. The key is that we’re bringing good players in and good guys as well.”

West Ham 1-2 Leicester
West Ham boss Slaven Bilic speaking to BBC Sport: "It is a bad result of course after a good start. We didn't play good enough in the first half. We started well but after that we were second best.
"We lost the game in the first half. Two-nil down is very difficult to come back from. We are very disappointed.
On substituting Reece Oxford at half-time: "It was not that he played worse than the rest of the team. He played well but our passing was really slow in the first half and with Pedro we were much quicker in tempo.
"We scored a gaol early enough to play our normal game but with more aggression. We had a great chance for the equaliser through Diafra Sakho, I was expecting us to score a second, but we didn't.
On Adrian's sending off: "Initially I thought it was not a red card but then I saw the replay and it is dangerous play. It was obvious Adrian didn't mean to cause harm. I am more than sure it was not deliberate. He was just following the ball and was unlucky."

Watford 0-0 West Brom
Watford manager Quique Flores to BBC Sport: "I am happy with the performance of the team. We planned for the match and it was difficult to play against West Brom. We tried to find space to attack and created chances. West Brom are solid at the back. We were close to getting a good result.
"Most important is that the fans are happy. We are working like a club, like a family.
"The players feel good and are full of confidence. They are competitive in the matches."

Newcastle manager Steve McClaren: "We didn't learn a lot apart from it is difficult to win with 10 men.
"A little bit of naivety has cost us, 10 men and your backs are against the wall. We have to dust ourselves down and concentrate on the Manchester United game next week.
"I'm not too sure whether it was a second booking but we knew he would be a danger and unfortunately we fell into the trap."

West Ham defender Carl Jenkinson, speaking to BBC Sport: "In the first 10 minutes we started well but after that it was an uphill battle. I didn't think they really took control of the game, they were decisive with their finishing but I would not say they outplayed us. It is frustrating, we got one back and I thought we would get another but it didn't land for us.
"I thought the red card was a bit harsh, it was a high foot but I am sure it was accidental. I ended up in goal but fortunately I didn't have too much to do."

Stoke boss Mark Hughes to Sky Sports: “First half it wasn’t what we were looking for, we allowed Spurs a little bit too much time, too much space, and played into their hands. I’m disappointed with both goals, really.
"At 2-0 it was a big task for us but we understood what we needed to do, disrupt their rhythm, and do the hard yards. I think the substitutions helped, we got more craft on later in the game and that opened things up. We got our reward and we were by far the better team in the second half.
"I’ve got a lot of good players who are disappointed when I don’t pick them. We were able to bring good quality on that affect the game. I’m delighted with the second-half performance, it wasn’t a complete 90-minute performance, but delighted to take the point.”

Stoke are pressing for a goal at Tottenham. They have no choice. They need two just to get level. Marko Arnautovic has a couple of shots from range, the first of which is saved the second flies over the bar. Between the two, Mame Diouf had a header saved.
For me, this can only get worse for Newcastle. They simply cannot handle Jefferson Montero and Andre Ayew and the two combine again to almost give Swansea a third, but Ayew heads just over.
It's some game at Brunton Park this afternoon between Carlisle and Cambridge. Five goals in the first half, and now two more in the second. Charlie Wyke brought the home side level, but Luke Berry has put Cambridge 4-3 up.
A leveller too at Broadfield Stadium, where Adebayo Akinfenwa had headed in for AFC Wimbledon against Crawley. It's 1-1 there, as it is between Newport and Stevenage.

Soon after, Jonathan Walters is picked out in the box and has plenty of time to steer his header on goal, but instead puts it past the post. Poor.
Swansea are flying as in-form duo Jefferson Montero and Andre Ayew combine to make it 2-0. The excellent Montero is away down the left and he lifts a inch-perfect cross into the area for Ayew, who rises to steer a fine header into the back of the net.

Saido Berahino is down in the box after nipping the ball away from a sliding Heurelho Gomes, but the referee isn't buying that it was a penalty. To be fair to the striker he didn't protest.
Ooof! The woodwork comes to Newcastle's rescue as Gyfli Sigurdsson strikes a superb left-footed effort towards goal, Tim Krul is beaten but relief for the visiting keeper as the ball bounces against the underside of the bar and stays in play.
Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo link up well again as the former chests down for the latter to fire a shot from 20 yards that is saved by Boaz Myhill. Watford picking up where they left off in the first half.
Reece Oxford's game is over as the 16-year-old is replaced by Pedro Obiang at the start of the second half. He struggled in the first half, but he is only young.
Jefferson Montero is bossing it down that left side. Moussa Sissoko struggled to deal with him, especially after picking up a bit of an injury towards the end of the first half. Sissoko has failed to emerge for the second half, with Steven Taylor replacing him.

It sounds as if it's been a thriller in the first half at Brunton Park, where Cambridge lead Carlisle 3-2. Jabo Ibehre scored twice for Keith Curle's side to bring them back from two goals down, but Barry Corr's second of the match has given the visitors the advantage.

Could that goal right on the cusp of half-time from Nacer Chadli prove decisive? On the basis of the first half, yes. Tottenham have been largely in control from the off. Stoke had a very good chance to level but Diouf failed to convert and they paid the price. It is a long way back from here.

Tottenham strike a crucial blow just before the break, just a few seconds after Hugo Lloris' save to keep them ahead. Reece Oxford starts again for West Ham after his impressive debut against Arsenal. The 16-year-old reckons he is more nervous about receiving his GCSE results later this month that he was about facing the Gunners. Nerves of steel that lad.
He's in the thick of things early on as he causes the Leicester defence to panic a bit when he moves in for a free-kick, resulting in Wes Morgan heading on to this own bar.
Whether he succeeds or fails at Watford this season, Quique Flores is going to do it in style. He is from the Paulo Sousa school of dapper managers, going for the grey v-neck over shirt combo. None of that nonsense in the West Brom dug-out. Tony Pulis is a staunch tracksuit and cap man.

This goal is all about Romelu Lukaku. It is a showcase for his power, pace, drive and goal-scoring ability. He picks up the ball in the middle of the pitch and finds Ross Barkley in a more advanced position before charging past him to receive the return pass and fire in to the bottom corner from the edge of the box. Utter class from the big Belgian.
There are few Premier League players who have established themselves as a key figure for their current side and one the top sides would happily part with massive amounts of money for than Harry Kane. However, he is currently at the start of that difficult second season - the one that proves he is no flash in the pan. After last week's disappointment at Old Trafford, he (and his team) could do with a win over Stoke today.

Lukaku goal
Southampton 0-1 Everton
And here is that goal, through the medium of graphic.
Salt in the wound for Southampton. Mane misses a superb chance to put them ahead and seconds later they are behind. A superb counter-attack from the visitors ends with a pin-point cross from Arouna Kone that finds Romelu Lukaku , at the back of a posse of home defenders, to steer a header into the net. Superb stuff (especially if you are an Everton fan).
Southampton should be ahead at St Mary's. Sadio Mane had a clear sight of goal from an angle in the box. His shot is on target but Tim Howard does superbly to save with his feet.
Chelsea do not play today, with them having to brave the Etihad for an away game at Manchester City, in what is the first really big game of the season. If Mourinho's side play like they did last week, and Manchester City do the same, it is likely that Jose will need more than these doctor shenanigans to gloss over it.
Mourinho analysis
Football Focus
Mark Lawrenson: "We are used to him winning but we are also used to him whinging. If someone at the club like owner Roman Abramovich had told manager Jose to apologise we would forget about it but I think sometimes he is bigger than the football club."
Dion Dublin: "Jose Mourinho is probably cleverly glossing over the fact that his side played badly."

Southampton 0-0 Everton
Ross Barkley fires the free-kick at goal but it catches the wall and goes for a corner, which is initially cleared before Everton come again and Arouna Kone forces another corner... which comes to nothing. That was a good little period of pressure from Everton.
Is that a penalty? No. At least according to referee Michael Oliver. Romelu Lukaku drives down the left, beating a couple of men for pace before he is felled by Matt Targett, right on the edge of the box. The ref has it right, though, it was just outside. Targett gets a yellow for the foul.

James Beattie, Swansea forwards coach: "There are very good players here. Last week's 2-2 draw at Chelsea was a culmination of a lot of things - hard work in training Stamford Bridge and a good strategy. Bad kit

Everton are about to add another monstrosity to the horror rack of bad Premier League kits. Green is a keeper shirt colour, not for outfield players. Still, it's how you play, not what you play in. And we're about to find out what Everton (and Southampton) have got to offer. The teams are out. Kick-off imminent.

Aston Villa 0-1 Man Utd (Fri)
Mark Lawrenson on Man Utd: "It's a different Man Utd. They are slighlty pedestrian but two 1-0 wins and it is happy days. I still think they are lacking one or two players."
Dion Dublin on Man Utd: "I don't think fans will be complaining about Man Utd's results. You have to give this team a bit of time."
Dion Dublin on Aston Villa: "It's a very fresh team with a manager with fresh ideas. They are exciting to watch and given a bit of time they will be good to watch. I'm not sure about them at the back but going forward they will be good."

Banner time
Southampton v Everton (12:45 BST)
Nothing hits home quite like a fleeting fly-by from a plane pulling a protest banner that people in the ground can barely read. "Kenwright & Co #timetogo" is dragged through the air above St Mary's, clearly by some Everton fans disgruntled at the way their club is being run. Meanwhile, on the pitch, one poor ball boy is getting an absolute soaking as he braves a sprinkler blast to the back to hold up a banner in honour of ex-Saints owner Markus Liebherr.

I tell you what, the groundsman has gone experimental with his cutting of the St Mary's pitch. There are diamonds and strips all over the shop. "Both teams began with 2-2 draws but the reaction in the respective camps was different.
"Everton twice came from behind to snatch a draw at home to Watford, strengthening fears of another season of under achievement. Little summer transfer activity has left their squad looking light.
"In contrast, Southampton created enough chances to have won at Newcastle and left in optimistic mood.
"Morgan Schneiderlin and Nathaniel Clyne have gone but Saints reinforced brilliantly after losing their big-hitters a year ago and seem to have invested wisely again, while the return of fit-again Jay Rodriguez is a massive boost.
"St Mary's has been a miserable venue for Everton in recent years and I cannot see that changing this weekend."
20 minutes and counting

It is getting very busy on the pitch at St Mary's with both sets of teams going through their warm-ups. Both doing a bit of one-touch to sharpen up their passing. Victor Wanyama is pounding round after the ball for Southampton. Jay Rodriguez doesn't stand a chance.

Team News
Southampton v Everton (12:45)
Southampton manager Ronald Koeman makes one change from the side that drew 2-2 at Newcastle on Sunday – Jay Rodriguez drops to the bench, with Shane Long, who scored at St James’ Park, coming in. New signing Oriol Romeu will make a debut if comes off the bench.
Roberto Martinez makes one change from last week's 2-2 draw at home to Watford - Arouna Kone comes in for Kevin Mirallas, who is fit enough to make the bench.
Brendan Galloway continues to deputise for injured left-back Leighton Baines, and winger Gerard Deulofeu will make his second debut for the club if he comes off the bench. Teenage defender Mason Holgate, signed from Barnsley on Thursday, is not in the squad.
"There was plenty to admire about Swansea last weekend. Andre Ayew was composed, Jefferson Montero was exciting and Jonjo Shelvey looks to be developing into the kind of player who could add to his solitary England cap.
"For Newcastle, Wijnaldum should be a very good singing but it's Aleksandar Mitrovic who's got people talking. He scored 23 goals in 44 games for Anderlecht last season.
"Roma and Porto wanted him, Newcastle got him and he could be just the kind of striker Newcastle fans have always loved: a modern Supermac. That's Malcolm MacDonald for those who are flummoxed - ask your parents."
Swans not scared of Magpies

There's no place in the Stoke team for club-record signing Xherdan Shaqiri as he serves a one-game ban from his time with Inter Milan, so we will have to wait a wee bit longer to find out if the Swiss will sprinkle Stoke with stardust.

We've mentioned West Ham and Leicester but other matches are available today, of course.
Tottenham's tussle with Stoke should be an interesting one. Both beaten in their opening fixtures. Both, arguably, should have drawn their games. And much is expected of both following their summer of recruiting.
Will they do more business? Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says:"I think one more [forward is needed]... but I think we don't need to bring in too many players."
BBC Football video picks
BBCCopyright: BBC
How about watching some video before today's games kick-off? Here is a pick of BBC Football videos:
What has Mark 'Lawro' Lawrenson have to say about West Ham's match against Leicester?
"These two teams both got great results over the opening weekend but it is Leicester I fancy to pick up another one on Saturday," he says.
"The Foxes have a lot of pace and energy in wide areas and, if they keep on playing this attacking style they used against Sunderland, they will win a lot more games than they lose.
"West Ham were brilliant when they beat Arsenal but I am going for a shock result against them here."
Leicester will not be in charge of the playlist this afternoon, however, as they travel to Upton Park to play West Ham. What are the chances of another magnificent Foxes victory? Well, let's just say history does not favour Ranieri's men.

"At the moment we are not worried," he said. "Cillessen is still very much with Ajax and I don't think there is any indication that Manchester United are pulling on him.

Terminators and Armageddon
Ian Wright's MOTD analysis
Anyway. Back to the Premier League. Is that the sound of the four horsemen of the apocalypse? Or is it Armageddon? Or are those Terminators I see in the distance? I get easily confused. One man who knows about such things is Ian Wright.
In one of the great opening lines to a column, the Match of the Day pundit says: "If, in years to come, Terminators take over the world and people ask me 'where did it all start?' I will say it was when Cameron Jerome's goal for Norwich was disallowed on the opening day of the 2015-16 season.
"That decision was ridiculous and it really was the beginning of the end for me - it is an Armageddon moment if it sets the tone for decisions for the rest of this campaign."

"Jan's the man"
What the papers say
Daily ExpressCopyright: Daily Express
After our first taste of Friday night football this season, Manchester United's win at Aston Villa dominates the back pages of most of today's newspapers.
"Jan's The Man" screams (not literally) the Daily Express' back page, but there's also an exclusive story about Chelsea club doctor Eva Carneiro missing a key meeting.
Carneiro angered Jose Mourinho by going on to the pitch to treat Eden Hazard against his wishes in last weekend's draw against Swansea. The row rumbles on...
'Villa will get better'
Aston Villa 0-1 Manchester United
Top of the league but for how long?
Aston Villa 0-1 Man Utd
Yep, last night we were treated to a bit of Friday Night Lights and, for what it's worth, Manchester United are now top of the Premier League after their 1-0 victory over Aston Villa.
Were Louis van Gaal's men impressive? They've been better. Aston Villa? They're a work in progress, apparently.
Hello! Welcome to live text commentary of what promises to be a wonderful footballing weekend. Last week's unlikely headline maker was Dr Eva Carneiro as she felt the wrath of Jose Mourinho. (More on that later.) But who will set the tone for this week?
Adnan Januzaj stole the show last night, netting the winner for Manchester United against Aston Villa, but there's plenty of minutes left in the weekend for another player, another manager, heck, even another backroom staff member, to steal the show.

But a week on, many are starting to feel hot under the collar, the blood pressure's already rising and touchline tantrums are once again part of the weekend's routine.
It could be the case of early-season football fever, just a seven-day flush. But I'm no medic. Anyone know the name of a good doctor for an official diagnosis?

Latest PostThat's all folks

West Ham 1-2 Leicester
Tomorrow's action
Crystal Palace v Arsenal
MOTD's Jonathan Pearce: "Arsenal haven't lost their opening two league games since the first ever Premier League season 23 years ago. They bounced back to win the FA Cup and League Cup that season.
"But a defeat at Selhurst where they're unbeaten in 12 visits would rock the club to its core. They could almost kiss goodbye to any title dream.
See. I told you.

So, how did Lawro do in his predictions this week? He went for wins for Sunderland, Tottenham and West Brom and Swansea to draw with Newcastle. OK, not so great then. But he did back Leicester to win at West Ham.

QPR 1-0 Cardiff
There is no late Premier League game this evening but there is one in the Championship, featuring two teams who have recently played in the top flight. At Loftus Road, QPR have just taken the lead against Cardiff through Clint Hill's header from a corner.

Manager reaction
Watford 0-0 West Brom
Watford manager Quique Flores to BBC Sport: "I am happy with the performance of the team. We planned for the match and it was difficult to play against West Brom. We tried to find space to attack and created chances. West Brom are solid at the back. We were close to getting a good result.
"Most important is that the fans are happy. We are working like a club, like a family.
"The players feel good and are full of confidence. They are competitive in the matches."
Manager reaction
Swansea City 2-0 Newcastle United

Player reaction
Watford 0-0 West Brom
West Brom defender Jonas Olsson on Sky Sports: "Everyone who watched the game saw that there was not much in it. Both teams wanted a result. We were solid and stuck to our game plan and had a few chances in the second half. In the end, it is a good point for us."

Tottenham 2-2 Stoke
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino to BBC Sport: “In football it’s never closed until the final whistle. It’s disappointing. The team played very well for 70 minutes and the penalty changed the game a little bit.
"We need to be optimistic, look forward and keep working. From my position it was difficult to see what happened, I don’t know if it was a penalty or not, but until this moment we played really well and created chances.”
Manager reaction
Tottenham 2-2 Stoke

Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat on BBC Sport: "Two games two defeats we did not expect. With all respect to Norwich, we must get the result but they were the better side in everything.
"We have to discuss with the players how we go on. It was the same in pre-season and you hoped it would change but it is not changing. Myself as well, I am responsible for that, no doubt. "
Together we have to find out if we can find the solution. Expectation we high, we have to find the reason otherwise we have no chance. There were many good players, Yann showed he is a good player. We have to find out the reason, they can talk and I can talk."
Manager reaction
Swansea City 2-0 Newcastle United
Swansea manager Garry Monk: "We dominated the whole game from start to finish. When the red card does come it impacts on the dynamic of the other team more and they sat back after that.
"We were very professional in the second half and made sure we won the game with a clean sheet.
"We started well, got a fantastic goal. We were very professional after the sending off and we could have had more goals."
Manager reaction
Watford 0-0 West Brom
West Brom manager Tony Pulis: "We talked about Watford starting at a high pace and we looked like it was surprise. But we restricted them to few chances. The changes made a bit of a difference. This is there cup final in a lot of respects. It was a wonderful atmosphere."
On Saido Berahino's late miss: "It was a good chance and he will be disappointed. But he is a good player."

"We are working very hard with the defensive line. I have very good players in front, very fast but it is important we all stay together.
"I didn't want to defend too deep but when you see your players go deep it is better to help them with their mentality."

Extraordinary stuff too at Ashton Gate, where there have been four goals and one red card. It's 2-2 between Bristol City and Brentford at the break, with Derrick Williams scoring the own goal equaliser to bring the visitors level, after the Robins' Luke Freeman was sent off for a bad challenge on Harlee Dean.

It sounds as if it's been a thriller in the first half at Brunton Park, where Cambridge lead Carlisle 3-2. Jabo Ibehre scored twice for Keith Curle's side to bring them back from two goals down, but Barry Corr's second of the match has given the visitors the advantage.

HALF-TIME
Tottenham 2-0 Stoke
Could that goal right on the cusp of half-time from Nacer Chadli prove decisive? On the basis of the first half, yes. Tottenham have been largely in control from the off. Stoke had a very good chance to level but Diouf failed to convert and they paid the price. It is a long way back from here.
HALF-TIME
West Ham 0-2 Leicester
The half-time whistle goes with Leicester holding a two-goal lead, but some late controversy as Diafra Sakho raced on to a ball into the box, knocked it past Kasper Schmeichel, who had come off his line, and the West Ham forward went tumbling to the ground. The home fans wanted a penalty, nothing given.

What a superb half for the visitors. Under pressure and unfancied but they've ruthlessly picked the Saints apart. This is the first time Romelu Lukaku has scored a brace in the Premier League since November 2013 (against Liverpool). GOAL - Southampton 0-1 Everton
Romelu Lukaku (21 mins)
Salt in the wound for Southampton. Mane misses a superb chance to put them ahead and seconds later they are behind. A superb counter-attack from the visitors ends with a pin-point cross from Arouna Kone that finds Romelu Lukaku , at the back of a posse of home defenders, to steer a header into the net. Superb stuff (especially if you are an Everton fan).

Southampton 0-0 Everton
Southampton should be ahead at St Mary's. Sadio Mane had a clear sight of goal from an angle in the box. His shot is on target but Tim Howard does superbly to save with his feet.

Mourinho's first big challenge
Manchester City v Chelsea (Sunday 16:00 BST)

You can follow a live text on this match here.
YELLOW CARD
Southampton 0-0 Everton
Is that a penalty? No. At least according to referee Michael Oliver. Romelu Lukaku drives down the left, beating a couple of men for pace before he is felled by Matt Targett, right on the edge of the box. The ref has it right, though, it was just outside. Targett gets a yellow for the foul.

Southampton 0-0 Everton
Southampton have started well. A cross from the right drops for Dusan Tadic to have a pop, but he can't connect properly with his attempted volley.

John Stones to the rescue. Graziano Pelle nods down a ball into the box, but the Everton defender is first to the ball to clear, just ahead of an attacking Saints player,
Beattie on Swansea and Monk
Football Focus
James Beattie, Swansea forwards coach: "There are very good players here. Last week's 2-2 draw at Chelsea was a culmination of a lot of things - hard work in training Stamford Bridge and a good strategy. As manager Garry Monk was growing up and progressing as a player he was always a student of the game. The way he's taken the management opportunity is second to none."
KICK-OFF
Southampton 0-0 Everton
Game on.
Bad kit
Southampton v Everton (12:45 BST)
Everton are about to add another monstrosity to the horror rack of bad Premier League kits. Green is a keeper shirt colour, not for outfield players. Still, it's how you play, not what you play in. And we're about to find out what Everton (and Southampton) have got to offer. The teams are out. Kick-off imminent.
Football Focus
Thank You Markus
Southampton players are wearing "Thank You Markus" shirts whilst warming up today. It's 5 years since their former owner Markus Liebherr died.
Liebherr bought the club in 2009 and sadly died a year later as the club started to move upwards from League One to the Premier League
Banner time
Southampton v Everton (12:45 BST)
Nothing hits home quite like a fleeting fly-by from a plane pulling a protest banner that people in the ground can barely read. "Kenwright & Co #timetogo" is dragged through the air above St Mary's, clearly by some Everton fans disgruntled at the way their club is being run. Meanwhile, on the pitch, one poor ball boy is getting an absolute soaking as he braves a sprinkler blast to the back to hold up a banner in honour of ex-Saints owner Markus Liebherr.
A cut above
Southampton v Everton (12:45 BST)
I tell you what, the groundsman has gone experimental with his cutting of the St Mary's pitch. There are diamonds and strips all over the shop. I wouldn't know whether to play football on it or wait for the fans to start and try to collect as many gold tokens as I can. Crystal Maze reference there for you.
West Ham analysis
Football Focus
Mark Lawrenson
Football Focus
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic
Football Focus
On giving 16 year-old Reece Oxford his West Ham first league start last week: "It was a risk throwing him in. I took the risk because the boy is mature, cool and confident. His best position is centre-half or holding midfielder. He reminds me of Rio Ferdinand."
On former manager Sam Allardyce: "I dont think he didn't believe in the 'West Ham way'. He made the club stable in the last few years."
Dion Dublin on Bilic: "I played against this Bilic many times. Loads of battles. He's taken the way he played to his management."
Everton's miserable venue
Southampton v Everton (12:45 BST)
Martin Fisher
Match of the Day
"Both teams began with 2-2 draws but the reaction in the respective camps was different.
Southampton v Everton (12:45 BST)
It is getting very busy on the pitch at St Mary's with both sets of teams going through their warm-ups. Both doing a bit of one-touch to sharpen up their passing. Victor Wanyama is pounding round after the ball for Southampton. Jay Rodriguez doesn't stand a chance.

With Everton due to play (at Southampton) soon, I'm going to take the opportunity to wish many happy returns to one of their former players, the legend that is Ian Snodin. I'll be honest, one of the reasons for this is to post the following picture. What a haircut. And what a moustache...

Cheers Amy. Afternoon all. After the last three hours of build-up I'm sure you'll all be delighted to know that we're only 45 minutes away from an actual game of Premier League football (and the Championship will chuck a match our way even sooner). 'Plenty to admire about Swansea'
Swansea v Newcastle (15:00 BST)
Steve Wilson
BBC Match of the Day commentator
Swansea v Newcastle (15:00)
What other match to mention? Let's focus on Newcastle and Swansea for a bit. Swansea were impressive in their 2-2 draw against champions Chelsea, while Newcastle battled well in their draw against Southampton
Fact: Swansea have collected 17 points against Newcastle since being promoted to the Premier League, more than any other side over the same period.

No place for Shaqiri
Tottenham v Stoke (15:00 BST)
There's no place in the Stoke team for club-record signing Xherdan Shaqiri as he serves a one-game ban from his time with Inter Milan, so we will have to wait a wee bit longer to find out if the Swiss will sprinkle Stoke with stardust.
Stoke boss Mark Hughes is happy with Shaqiri's arrival, saying: "At the top level, you have to have players with the ability to change games and Xherdan [Shaqiri] has the ability to create something out of nothing.
"There is a financial angle, which you accept, but it is about playing. He is a young man and he wants to get back on track."

Tottenham v Stoke (15:00)
We've mentioned West Ham and Leicester but other matches are available today, of course.
Tottenham's tussle with Stoke should be an interesting one. Both beaten in their opening fixtures. Both, arguably, should have drawn their games. And much is expected of both following their summer of recruiting.

Contrary to Louis van Gaal's comments, sources close to De Gea say he never expressed a desire not to play. Oh, to really know what is going on behind the scenes. Should the Spaniard stay or should he go?

What the papers say
If you like big close ups of Jose Mourinho's face, then today's Guardian is the newspaper for you.
The newspaper described how yesterday's news conference with the Chelsea boss played out, with David Hytner writing: "It was the latest of those moments that shine an unforgiving light on the controlling and sometimes petulant nature of Jose Mourinho’s character."
Pedro problems?
Football gossip
What other football gossip has captured our attention? Well, the Daily Mail are reporting that Manchester United are in dispute with Barcelona over the £21.3m buyout clause in 28-year-old forward Pedro's contract at the Nou Camp.
United are thought to have offered a tidy £17.7m, plus £3.6m in add-ons, in an attempt to sign the Spain star.

"Jan's the man"

After our first taste of Friday night football this season, Manchester United's win at Aston Villa dominates the back pages of most of today's newspapers.
"Jan's The Man" screams (not literally) the Daily Express' back page, but there's also an exclusive story about Chelsea club doctor Eva Carneiro missing a key meeting.
Carneiro angered Jose Mourinho by going on to the pitch to treat Eden Hazard against his wishes in last weekend's draw against Swansea. The row rumbles on...

Aston Villa 0-1 Man Utd
Yep, last night we were treated to a bit of Friday Night Lights and, for what it's worth, Manchester United are now top of the Premier League after their 1-0 victory over Aston Villa.

Seven days ago we were all a little younger, full of anticipation and hope of what might be. There'd been no spits, no spats, no defeats or injuries. The pulse was steady.
