Some Southampton fans departing. They've not seen their team lose at St Mary's since February, when Liverpool were the victors. The sun peeking out from the clouds but not on Ronald Koeman. Jay Rodriguez take aim, but fires wide. 

Four minutes will be added to the 90 but there's nothing much to report other than that. 

Everton have coped admirably with Southampton's crosses and corners - of which there have been nine in the match. More variety is perhaps needed from Ronald Koeman's men. Something to chew over when the final whistle blows.

Romelu Lukaku leaves the pitch to a chorus from the visiting fans, the striker making way for Gerard Deulofeu who has rejoined from Barcelona. Two minutes remaining. The result a foregone conclusion now. 

Steven Naismith... Steven Naismith... it can't be a fourth, surely? No. 

Brendan Galloway finds Ross Barkley... the midfielder picks out the onrushing Seamus Coleman, but the Irishman's improvised overhead goes in the opposite direction of the goal. Promising position for Everton, though... Romelu Lukaku bullying the Southampton defenders... another battle won by the Belgian.

Victor Wanyama with a shot from distance, but the Kenyan fails to hit the target. Time running out for the Saints. Ten minutes remaining. Steven Naismith on the field for Everton.

The majority of play taking place in the middle of the pitch, which isn't where Southampton need to be in these closing stages. The Saints bombarding the Everton box... Sadio Mane with a thunderclap of a drive from outside the box and Tim Howard's firm right hand steers it away. Close.

James McCarthy receives a yellow for bringing down Graziano Pelle in the middle of the pitch. A promising attack is brought to a halt and the Saints must start all over again. Sadio Mane with a whipping cross which finds Jay Rodriguez in the box... but Seamus Coleman is first to the ball. 

Final 15 minutes approaching and it's a bit scrappy at the moment. Southampton continuing to dominate possession and territory, but unable to cause any real damage in the final third. Everton still a menace on the counter-attack...

Cedric Soares running freely down the right... Southampton on the attack once again. Everton clear the cross but Southampton continue to keep possession... 

A substitution - Jay Rodriguez for Shane Long for his first appearance at St Mary's since March 2014 after about 14 months out with a knee injury.

Romelu Lukaku conducts the Everton crowd as he walks towards the box to prepare for a corner. It comes to nothing, but it's a rare foray in the Southampton half. And a series of corners ensue. 

Lovely from Graziano Pelle - a backheel cuter than a litter of puppies finds Sadio Mane. The pair are Southampton's most dangerous players. Moments later the Italian rises above the Everton defence, but his header keeps on rising when it should have troubled Tim Howard. 

Southampton setting up camp in opposition territory, Everton retreating - but the two-goal lead gives them a healthy cushion. Plus, they know they can cause damage on the counter-attack which is what Arouna Kone attempts to do as he goes in search of Romelu Lukaku after nicking the ball only this time they fail to link up.
