Tottenham 2-0 Stoke
N'Jie, who scored seven goals for the Ligue 1 side last season and has netted six in 10 appearances for Cameroon, has joined following the departure of Spain striker Roberto Soldado to Villarreal.
It is also the player's 22nd birthday today. And as is customary these days the club have wished him many happy returns.
Tottenham 2-0 Stoke
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino said he was in the market for another striker and in case you missed it this morning the club snapped up Lyon striker Clinton N'Jie on a five-year deal.
Totteham 2-0 Stoke
Quote MessageIt's no less than Tottenham deserve. Stoke could not have done too much about it. The longer the half has gone on the more Harry Kane has got involved.

Tottenham 2-0 Stoke
Referee Robert Madley puts the whistle to his lips and blows for half-time. Tottenham have looked very dangerous and deserve their two-goal lead. Much to do for Stoke in the second half.
Nacer Chadli
Tottenham punish Stoke again just before half-time. Ben Davies does all the hard work down the left flank and his cross picks out the unmarked Nacer Chadli at the back post. The Belgium international meets the ball on the volley and guides it into the net.
Tottenham 1-0 Stoke
Relief for the Tottenham defence as Stoke carve out their best chance of the half. Spurs fail to deal with a ball into the penalty area and Jonathan Walters heads it across goal for Mame Diouf, only for the Senegal forward to head it straight at Hugo Lloris.
At the other end Jack Butland produces a brilliant reaction save with his leg to deny Ryan Mason from close range after the Spurs midfielder had got on the end of Harry Kane's brilliant through ball.
Tottenham 1-0 Stoke
A half chance for Stoke late in the first half as Marko Arnautovic bundles his way through the Tottenham defence. He manages to fire a dangerous ball across the six-yard box but there is no-one in a Stoke shirt there to apply the decisive touch.

Kuntal Majumdar: Harry Kane's game hasn't improved. Just assign two defenders on him and mark him out. Predictable.

Tottenham 1-0 Stoke
A long pass up field sees Nacer Chadli scampering away clear of the Stoke defence, but the Belgium international's touch is not the best and he loses control of the ball.
Tottenham 1-0 Stoke
Even though it didn't count that was clinically struck by Harry Kane. And it gets a nod of approval from England assistant manager Ray Lewington, who is watching from the stands at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham 1-0 Stoke
Spurs' Harry Kane has been all-action again this afternoon and he gets himself into a good position on the right edge of the penalty area, then strikes a sweet half-volley from a tight angle past Jack Butland. But alas, the assistant referee had already raised his flag for offside.

"Tottenham are not giving Stoke's Ibrahim Afellay any time on the ball here. There's plenty of white shirts around him whenever he is in possession."

Tottenham 1-0 Stoke
Stoke's Erik Pieters is on the end of a tackle from Moussa Dembele and requires a bit of attention from the physio. It's not serious, though, and he's quickly up and about again.
Shortly afterwards Kyle Walker is shown a yellow card after hauling back Stoke's Marko Arnautovic. Stoke aren't able to make use of the resulting free-kick though.
Quote MessageStoke will be disappointed with conceding that. Dier has got in front of his man and headed that in. It was good movement - he just spun away to the back post then made a dart to the near post.

Eric Dier
Christian Eriksen delivers a pinpoint corner into the penalty area and Eric Dier beats a number of Stoke players at the near post to powerfully head the ball into the net. Classic set-piece stuff from Spurs.
