Newcastle's fourth booking as Vurnon Anita trips Alexis Sanchez. Huge jeers again but, again, the right decision.

Arsenal get their first booking as Santi Cazorla is booked for a foul on Georginio Wijnaldum. The latter is then booked himself for dissent. More cards than Christmas.

A positive start from Newcastle as Moussa Sissoko races forward onto Georginio Wijnaldum's chipped pass. He doesn't get there ahead of Petr Cech but it shows the hosts aren't just going to defend despite their numerical disadvantage.

Game back on. Can Newcastle hold out? Or even nick a winner?

Arsenal's best chance of the game shown below. An 18-man passing move ended with Alexis Sanchez's shot saved by Tim Krul, with Theo Walcott prodding over from very, very close. He had to score.

Arsenal have had loads of the ball as they trudge off at the break but are yet to find the breakthrough.

Newcastle fans let referee Andre Marriner know what they think of him with a lot of jeers but, apart from missing a blatant Arsenal penalty, he doesn't look to have got much wrong.

Arsenal are patiently passing the ball around on the edge of Newcastle's penalty area but they are crowded out - again. The Gunners just can't find that killer touch. Huge credit to Newcastle's defensive effort.

Two minutes of injury time.

Some nice jinking skill from Florian Thauvin inside Arsenal's penalty area but he is eventually crowded out. Seconds later fellow new boy Chancel Mbembe shows great desire to maraud past a couple of challenges as he surges into Arsenal's half. Nothing to show for it but great attitude from the Magpies and the home fans are loving it.

Better from Arsenal as Nacho Monreal's pass finds Hector Bellerin unmarked on the right. A beautiful low cross is directed to the front post but Theo Walcott is just beaten to the ball.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain advances down the right, the ball finds the unmarked Aaron Ramsey on the edge of the penalty area but his shot is blocked.

The Gunners are finding it difficult to break down the Magpies.

Not Theo Walcott's proudest moment.

He has to score as Tim Krul parries Alexis Sanchez's low shot into his path just yards from goal. But, with the keeper grounded, Walcott somehow manages to lift the ball wide and over.

If he wants to be a striker, he has to score them.

Newcastle are struggling to get out of their own half at the moment as Arsenal dominate possession...

Having said that, they are still trying to push forward when they can but they need to be very careful not to be caught on the break.
