"At the moment, Arsenal are Man City's nearest rivals. They were brilliant at at times today. They do have problems scoring goals, and missed so many easy chances. But they're wonderful to watch."

Rousing reception for Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea as he warms up in front of the Stretford End before the meeting with Liverpool - a new four-year contract just signed after the collapse of a proposed move to Real Madrid and back in the team for the first time this season. It's not all good news for United manager Louis van Gaal, who broke into somewhat tuneless song on Friday to insist everyone at Old Trafford was behind him after a week of whispers about discontent among players unhappy with his authoritarian approach. Wayne Rooney is out with a hamstring injury sustained on England duty when he broke Sir Bobby Charlton's all-time record for his country with his 50th against Switzerland at Wembley on Tuesday.

Lawrence Houldsworth: We keep saying Manchester City are 11 points clear of Chelsea, but shouldn't we really be saying City are five points clear of Arsenal? Chelsea are hardly a threat to City on current form.

Lee: Well done City, fully deserved - who can stop them?

Steve Huish,Surbiton: City are the new Manchester United of old.

Brighton extended their lead at the top of the Championship to four points after beating Hull 1-0, while Cardiff beat Huddersfield 2-0 and are now second.

Birmingham, Burnley and Middlesbrough are locked on 11 points each after they beat Bristol City, Sheffield Wednesday and MK Dons respectively.

Bolton beat Wolves 2-1, while Derby also won at Preston by the same scoreline as Rotherham were denied a first league win of the season by a Charlton equaliser and Leeds netted a late leveller to draw with Brentford.

"I'm not saying this is the case at Old Trafford, but I've been in situations where the manager comes across well in a press conference, but in the changing room it's dour and there's no team spirit.

"David De Gea will be at Real Madrid next season, if they still want him. But United fans might buy back into their keeper now he's signed that new contract.

"It is unheard of for Manchester United to score just three goals in four Premier League games. Wayne Rooney has great movement but not the same mobility anymore. He has not been upsetting opposition defences."

Joel Ejike Oblates: I thought Daniel Sturridge would make Liverpool bench today. We are going to miss those magical Coutinho tricks.

Bhavin Shah: In all seriousness, who in that Liverpool team would get into the Man Utd team?

Just check out Kelechi Iheanacho's touch map from today. Two touches, one goal. He was on the pitch just 54 seconds before he scored.

What a feeling for Kelechi Iheanacho. His only previous first-team appearance came as an 89th-minute substitute against Watford earlier in the season.

And the best thing about it all? He gets to choose the tunes on the bus home.

And no longer has to sit at the front of the bus with the manager. This youngster is the king of the Etihad. For tonight at least.

Fqiren: That's it. Man City are winning the title this season.

Mr Lamide: I was almost certain Palace would win this. City have got so much character, got to hand it to them.
