What's going on behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge?

Anükram Adhikary: Blame the players all you want but if the manager is a self-proclaimed "The Special One", he has to take the blame too.

Donald Oluoch: Desperate times for Mourinho. Bring on Matic at half time then removing him after 27 minutes. Not sure what's happening.

Ian: At what point does Mourinho start looking over his shoulder and worry about his job. Especially with Klopp available.

Surely Jose's lowest ebb? Eight games, eight points, zero confidence. Those celebrations back in May seem a long, long time ago.

The headlines will focus on the escalating crisis at Chelsea. But this should not distract from a superb display from Southampton, who came from behind and deservedly won.

Take a bow Sadio. The Saints forward has been superb this evening.

The 90 minutes are up. Stamford Bridge is emptying very quickly. There will be five minutes of added time, though. Still the tiniest glimmer of hope for the Blues.

Oscar aims a pass out wide to Cesc Fabregas. At least I think that was the aim. In keeping with Chelsea's display the ball flies out of play. The belief has completely drained out of this Chelsea side.

I will say it first, Mourinho out. Clueless and out of his depth. Klopp in.

    Dan, Farnborough.

Abramovich looked totally fed up at half time - if the game continues in the same mood what odds on Mourinho still being in charge for the next game??

Falcao hits it and would have hit the target, but for a flick off the wall that takes the ball over the bar.

From the resulting corner, Maarten Stekelenburg jumps and flicks the ball off the head of John Terry.

Here is a chance for Chelsea. Eden Hazard is chopped down by Graziano Pelle on the edge of the box, earning himself a yellow card. Big moment, this. Radamel Falcao is over the free-kick...

Pedro looks for a way through but his low shot from inside the box is deflected behind by Jose Fonte. However, Chelsea are unable to fashion anything from the corner. This game is sprinting away from them.

Saints keeper Maarten Stekelenburg gets out of jail. He drops Loic Remy's cross from the left at the feet of Eden Hazard but the ball just skips away from the Belgian before it is hammered clear.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 79 mins

    Chelsea 1-3 Southampton

Desperate times now for Chelsea. They are pushing forward but are getting nowhere thanks to solid, energetic defensive work from Southampton.

Cesc Fabregas is forced to have a pop from range, which flies well wide of goal.

James Ward-Prowse goes into the book for pulling a Chelsea man back.

Chelsea are all over the shop. A team in total meltdown. Gary Cahill again gives the ball away to Sadio Mane in a dangerous area near his own box, allowing the Saints forward to cut in and find Dusan Tadic, who is only prevented from making it 4-1 by a block from John Terry.

This is the champions remember. The team who won the league comfortably last season. I doubt they could open a bag of crisps without spilling them all over the floor at the moment.

Jose Mourinho said he was under pressure before today's game. Well, that pressure's rising...

Mark: Given their concurrent drop in form I can only assume that Eva Carniero was actually coaching the team for Mourinho.

James: Chances of Chelsea spending £100m in January on new defenders? Evens.

Alan Nicol: Chelsea should do what other "top" clubs do. Buy Saints' best players.

Chelsea are stunned. Southampton jubilant. The Blues are in total disarray. It is another error as the ball is given away on the halfway line, allowing Sadio Mane to charge forward before finding Graziano Pelle, who drives a low, angled shot into the far corner.

It is nothing less than Southampton deserve. What now Jose?

    Chelsea 1-2 Southampton

John Terry puts a strong head on the ball to clear the free-kick after it is delivered into the box before James Ward-Prowse fires a shot over the bar.

How long since Chelsea properly threatened the Saints goal. A while.
