That's it. What a great win for Watford. They played a very mature game, and forward Odion Ighalo was magnificent once again.

As for Stoke? What a way to ...er... celebrate Mark Hughes's 100th game in charge of the club.

  3. WATFORD SUBSTITUTION and BOOKINGSpublished at 90 mins

    Stoke 0-2 Watford

Watford forward Odion Ighalo comes off, very slowly, which annoys Erik Pieters who confronts him.

Ighalo is booked for being slow and Pieters is booked for being aggro. First two bookings of the match.

Charlie Adam is shown a yellow for a foul on Etienne Capoue.

    Yellow o'clock here.

By the way, Adlene Guedioura came on.

By the way, watch the combination play between Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo on Match of the Day later - they have been exceptional. I have to say I think Ighalo will move to a bigger club. Sorry Watford fans.

Stoke fans are leaving, not in droves, but in a trickling stream-like fashion.

  6. WATFORD SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 77 mins

    Stoke 0-2 Watford

Valon Behrami comes on for fellow Swiss player and goalscorer Almen Abdi. Abdi put in a good shift.

    Stoke 0-2 Watford

Watford sub Juan Carlos Paredes goes close to making it 3-0. The right-back's effort is well saved by England keeper Jack Butland.

At the other end, Jon Walters tries to pull one back for Stoke but drags his shot wide.

    Almen Abdi

    Abdi

It was coming to be honest. Stoke have had a 'mare today as has Marc Wilson.

He's not looked comfortable since he came on early in the match. On this occasion, he is dispossessed on the left by the brilliant Odion Ighalo.

The Nigeria striker feeds Almen Abdi, who runs on to the ball and fiercely pokes/smashes his shot from 18 yards past Jack Butland.

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

Watford keeper Heurelho Gomes, who hasn't had too much to do to be honest, has to claw away another inswinging corner - in the first half it was from Xherdan Shaqiri and this one is from Charlie Adam.

  11. WATFORD SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 66 mins

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

Right-back Juan Carlos Paredes comes on for Ikechi Anya. I think that's a 'protecting the lead' move by ol' Quique.

  12. STOKE SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 61 mins

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

Odion Ighalo produces another sumptuous backheel to put in Ikechi Anya. Anya falls under the challenge of Marc Wilson, but ref Martin Atkinson points for a corner.

Meanwhile, Stoke boss Mark Hughes brings on Peter Crouch and Jon Walters for the rather ineffective Xherdan Shaqiri and Joselu.

Nothing comes from the corner. I've written that a few times today.

  13. Postpublished at 57 mins

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

Odion Ighalo's fierce volley from a corner from the right is blocked. Good thing for Stoke keeper Jack Butland it was because he's finding it very hard to see with the sun in his eyes at the moment.

  14. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 52 mins

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

Watford striker Odion Ighalo falls in the area and appeals for a pen. Marc Wilson gave him a little nudge but there's not enough really - ref Martin Atkinson wasn't interested either.

    OUCH!published at 49 mins

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

Watford striker Odion Ighalo is down on the ground clutching his face. The replay seems to suggest that Charlie Adam's boot came in contact with his head. Hmm...

Adam goes to check if he's OK. The Hornets striker comes off the pitch to get treatment but then comes back on.

The Stoke players are out very early. Textbook 'out early in the second half when the team are losing' approach. Does it work?
